I'm just kind of depressed right now. What do you do to cheer yourself up?

Video games help me. Games like GTA VC or SA are big stress relievers for me.
I go for walks and try to examining why I feel the way that I do. Talking to friends helps too. When I go for walks here's what I do. Examine why I am depressed, once I isolate what factor(s) are making me depressed I then examine what I can do to change the situation I am in or how I can accept and work with or around those factors that I can't change.

Sometimes those factors become really hard for me. I get really hard on myself sometimes and get a little OCD when it comes to conversations. I think I over analyze people in conversations. It kind of makes me wonder if I'm annoying.

Get lost in a favorite book, go for a hike, try out a new cookie recipe, take a long bath.
You aren't annoying, but maybe you need to take a deep breath and mentally step back from a conversation and learn that most of the time things are meant at face value. If the conversations are here online, I would say turn off the computer and stay off line for a few days to help your mind clear.

Personally, I just pick out a few of my favorite CDs and listen to music all day. Sometimes I read a funny book or watch a comedy. And my cats always cheer me up, so if you have any pets, hanging out with them for a while might help.

hachi_ ateyou Sometimes those factors become really hard for me. I get really hard on myself sometimes and get a little OCD when it comes to conversations. I think I over analyze people in conversations. It kind of makes me wonder if I'm annoying. You might have a little bit of social anxiety. It's not uncommon. Realise that most of the time it's just a part of your mind, as you said, over-analysing and attributing or inferring things that aren't necessarily there. When this happens next, take a deep breath and take a few seconds to relax and centre yourself, and then make the decision to move past it and let it go. If you have trouble with this, you can try a visualisation, like forming your worries into a balloon and then letting it go to drift off into the air. Personally when I'm feeling down, I like to watch cartoons I enjoyed when I was a kid or a really good, familiar sitcom like Frasier, or something silly like Monster Quest. Or a good doco. There's a whole HEAP of stuff like that on Youtube.

Reading a favorite book is a great way to de-stress, and so is listening to your favorite type of music and catching up on movies. And some sleep works too.

If the weather's decent I'll grab my ipod, turn it to something cheerful, and go for a walk.
If the weather's miserable I'll still go for the happy music or comedy show but will bake or do the dishes or something.

Find a good friend and tell them exactly everything that is bothering you. Let yourself go off on tangents. Or put it all on paper. That always helps me.
If you wonder if you're annoying, haha, I do this to myself all the time. Maybe I can use myself as an example. I'll be hanging out with new friends and having a great time. Then I'll get home and later that night I'll think, "Eew, did I really say that? God, they must think I'm so annoying..." But they keep spending time with me. On purpose. I must be more fun than I am annoying. Basically, you're your own worst critic. It's never as bad as you see it in your head.

I cook, or I shop, or I relax with some at-home spa treatments, or I read and drink coffee.
