so long story short, I've had problems with art scamming politics lately and I realized Gaia doesn't explain a whole lot on the subject well or clarify much and their system for dealing with it is outdated or something.
I'm going to make a guide for how not to get scammed, both by the artist and by the buyer.
any have stuff you want to add into it?
also if you can name some well known art buyers and artists I can ask, other than people here or people you know we know, please tell me.
if you have experiences with getting scammed post it, details help the most, stuff that's confused you on the topic, ect.
basically tell me everything you would want people to know not to get scammed.

It's hard to completely prevent art scamming. I've never been scammed, but I'd say a good policy if you want to make sure you have the best possible chance of not getting scammed is first to have the buyer send a trade to prove he/she has the gold, then have the buyer pay the artist half when the artist provides an image of the rough draft with a watermark, then the artist sends the rough draft, then when the artist finishes the picture he/she provides a watermarked version to the buyer, who then pays the remainder of the balance and then receives the art. When the artist requires half pay for the rough draft it means he/she is compensated for at least part of the time spent on the art. That gets cumbersome, though. xD

I am the embodiment of fear and evil Honestly, I've never been scammed with art before. Every time I've bought art I've received it, even one that I got like 4 months after I ordered it. So I honestly can't add any info to this.of the House of Demonic Dreams
