Summary and Announcements

This thread will be used to announce events and catalysts that effect the School of Pranks roleplay. Check the last post for the most recent announcement.

Summary

Part 1: Orientation and The Start of a New Year: A new year has started at the Nexus Academy aka the School of Pranks, and once again many mishaps happen from the beginning. Headmaster Armand's opening speech is interrupted by pots falling, and he disappears leaving the speech to Faraday. Before Faraday can finish, it starts raining. People get confused and scatter. Then, an announcement is made that certain lucky students will find a mentor in an envelope in their mailroom (RPers, this is in your PM). So now everyone is checking their envelopes in the mail room or running into roommates on the way. The current goal is to find your group.

Part 2: The Case of the Mysterious Murder of the Literature Teacher: One week has passed, and everyone has found their groups. Timeskip post here. While almost everyone was in the dorms sleeping at night, there was a huge flash blinding flash that lit up the whole area. Most people woke up and discovered themselves in awkward situations with unexpected visitors in their rooms. Meanwhile, while practicing screaming for drama in the observatory, Artix discovered the body of Estas and a pool of blood and truly screamed for the world to hear. In the garden, Armand was whacked in the head by a winged visitor(Avaris) while he was investigating the garden.

Event #2: The Case of the Mysterious Murder of the Literature Teacher: This link is an OOC topic where we can discuss OOC/IC about the murder. In the RP, characters will be discovering clues and so on in the process.

Contest # 1: Best Entrance into the Roleplay

"Wait, what? What's School of Pranks? He just said Nexus, but the dorm desk says School of Pranks!"

Contest Rules!
1. You get ONE intro post for Each character. So, if you have two characters, you get to post one intro for Char #1 and one for Char #2. They should not be interacting with each other since that would be unfair for people with only one character. (None of my characters will be participating in the event.)

2. Best intro post wins!

3. Remember to keep in mind how your characters are and the setting.

4. Locations: Pick one of these topics
- Living Quarters
- Castle Floors 1-3: Entrance/Classrooms/Auditorium/Dining Hall
- Castle Floor 4, 6 - The Teacher and Headmaster Offices
- Outside on Academy Grounds

5. Possible Scenarios: (These are just sample topics. Just don't choose something too out of line.)
- Moving In
- Reaction to Headmaster's Welcome Speech
- Similar first day experiences
- Wandering around in Hallways

Judging and Prizes
1. To encourage everyone's participation, all members of the guild, whether they are or aren't already in the roleplay, will vote for the best introduction post.

2. Everyone who participates in the event will get a participation prize. I can't promise it will be an expensive prize.

3. The winner of the vote will receive a greater prize. The exact nature of the grand prize will depend on what I have in stock/gold. Do not worry. I am saving up! The grand prize should be more than 30k.

"EW! PERVERT! Get away from me! Why am I in the same group as you?! Wait, you're not in my group!"

Event Tid bits!
Lucky lucky lucky! A couple of lucky students (namely everyone in the roleplay) in the school have been chosen to be matched with teachers to be in a mentor-mentee relation to help students get along and for some real small group training and experiences! Now, the question is, are you lucky or not?

Find your group members! Everyone has received a color in their pms. Now rp your characters trying to find their group members. Crash into each other randomly while fleeing or just in general. Go explore and get lost. Whatever. These groups will become important in the future, so you'd better get to know your group members well...or in some cases too well for comfort...

It has come to my very small attention span that this glorious day of pranking, jokes and laughter has not been taken advantage of by the staff of rp-ers in this Academy!
