Old Carter Central Block

Old Carter is the gentrified area that once was downtown. Small, family-run shops and restaurants line the streets, catering mostly to the affluent, aging community of Peaceful Hill Gated Community.

Now, broken glass litters the street, small craters smolder in the walls of the buildings, and the entire place has the feel of a ghost town.

"Looks like noone showed up..." Kit murmered, sitting on a ruined roof top of a appartment building. He scouted the area a few times, it was all ruin, but there were a few good places to hide and run. He searched his bag for a leaf, he took it from one of the many pockets. Kit glanced at the leaf, a rough, charchol drawing of a poof of smoke was on it. He started on his little ritual of his illusions. He thought of a huge cloud of smoke surrounding the ground. The leaf started to glow green as he thought this. Good, now he just needed a little bit of time to put some energy in it. Being alone gave him a advantage, for now.
"Those people better start comming soon, I can't wait here all day..."

((Well, I still need people to join my team, I don't want to go alone...))

The leaf was almost ready, only another minute... Done. The leaf glowed a bright green. This will be good for a quick getaway if need be. He went into one of the ruined buildings, this one was still in tact, all of it was still there. Kit climbed up the stairs and arrived at the rooftop. He looked at the view, there were more people around where he was. It looks like many had recived the same letter.

Were it not for his sunglasses, Gabriel would have winced at the sudden change in illumination. As it was, however, Gabriel remained no worse for the wear and simply strode away from the stairs descending down into the terminal.

"Well...now we're uhh...outside at least."

He scratched the back of his head. As far as knowledge of the city went, Gabriel had none. In truth, it was amazing he had made it to the subway station without aid. He turned, looking towards Espyn.

"Now, oh great group-appointed-leader, where do we go?"

((If you really need to, you could always team up with us, I guess.))
Mort stretched his arms and looked around the area as he reached the daylight, giving out a slight yawn. "Things seem as dead here as they did down there," he muttered to himself.

((Uh... if anyone's the leader, it's Vahn. No offence Espyn, but yeah. Maybe it'll be best not to pick a leader?))

((Gabriel never knew there was a leader, and Espyn was the first person Gabriel saw. That's why he kind of referred to him as leader condescendingly.))

((We'll see. But at this rate, yeah.))

Kit's furry orange ears twitched, he looked down.
"Well, well, well..." He whispered to himself. It seems like he's not alone now. He instinctifly tucked in his orange fox tail and took out a dagger from his sheath. He spied on them for a bit, they seemed like an intresting bunch. If none of his group showed, he could always join them for a while... The others will catch up with him... Eventually.

"Since when am I the leader?" he asked, nevertheless walking in the southeast direction where tall buildings and some faint noises could be heard by his ears bustling and beeping about. His hair was bright in the light and his appearance against the dusty greyness and the dead colours was like an angel in a dark dream, a list of colours walking about as alive as anything.

"This is taking far too long, and I can't see anything..." Espyn mumbled, crossing his arms before the sapphire on his forehead, "and no colour down here is pissing me off."

The extravagent boy released two jets of roaring water from both outward-facing palms of his cold hand, now decreasing in temperature. The double-helix swirled and brought him high above the group, whirring around him in a majestic pattern and some of it freezing into place on his back in a thin layer that would keep him stabilized, provided the sun didn't blare out from behind those bright grey clouds.

"It looks more lively over there, but I don't see any sign of damage.. all the buildings.." he called down to them, moving about with his translucent fairy-resembling wings.

"Are you kidding? There's tons of color. Red...brown, I see some gray over in that direction."

He pointed off to the right before stepping forward, looking up to where Espyn had erected a tower of ice.

"Well if you see anything that looks like action, let's head there. I'm tired of all this waiting around crap."

(Is anybody else up for shortening our posts? Considering the fact that we're well behind on the searching portion of our adventure?)

"Yo!"

He came swerving to a halt, having extied the station along with everyone else. His hand reached around to the pack that was slung over his back. Without waiting another moment, his hand dove in and pulled out several small black objects.

"Let's try splitting up, cover more ground that way at least."

((This is going to be tougher than I thought... the areas way too massive... ))

As Espyn's focused rambled on along the horizon of the city, he saw a gleam in the corner of his eye and stared down to its origin. A stranger holding the object in his hand. Instinctively, Espyn made an effort to interrogate him. The airborn magician turned his body full front in the direction of this orange-topped foreigner and pulled out one of his own daggers, hinted with carvings that were shadowed against the higher-leveled hilt. Espyn kissed it lightly and hurled it down towards the person, and after a few moments of slicing the air away, it became lodged in the ground about half a meter or so away from the orange-one.

"Redac." he mumbled, the blade glistening a dark purple colour and now throwing out streamers of violet smog, meant to engulf the stranger and simply create a temporary prison around him, assuming of course he wasn't to be trusted.

The robed man silently continued to survey the buildings, both high and low, until he spotted something. His eyes locked onto it, and he spoke softly to the others. "Up there," he said, nodding towards the figure he spotted, looking almost as if it had ears of some sort. "Do you see it?" He had his answer, however, when he saw the purple smog cover the figure, which caused him to look up to the ice wielder briefly.

((Alright, I'm joining.))

Kit saw a few people walk by his building, ah heck, those guys aren't gonna show. He yelled, "Hello down there!"
Good, he'll just offer up his services to these people for now.

((shortening might be the best idea if we plan on getting anywhere, ya know for some odd reason I keep hearing war sounds in the back of my head))

Zen emerged to see an ice tower in the streets, "Well that wasn't there when i first arrived?" Zen replied, a stray ray of sun beamed through the clouds, refracting(sp?) through the ice and blinding Zen briefly, "Damnit!" Zen winced as he moved away from the ice.
