The Jew Card. It's what we Jews call it when you say "Well, that's my religion" and stuff like that. When you use the Hebrew Calendar in polite conversation with gentiles and then say "What??? I can say 5770 if I want to. Well, it's my Religion!" When you use Judaism as an excuse to get out of stuff. "I can't, there's this Jewish thing. Well, it's my religion! I can skip out if I want to!"
Stuff like that. It's hard to explain.
So, how often do you use the Jew card? Or the Christian Card? Or the Wiccan card?

I tried to get out of making a Christmas card in Spanish class by telling the teaching I was Atheist...it didn't work.

Shiori Miko I tried to get out of making a Christmas card in Spanish class by telling the teaching I was Atheist...it didn't work. I wish I could use the Jew card at school, but I go to a Jewish School. Everybody's Jewish. The most I could do is maybe say "I'm a Reform Jew, this is an orthodox Jewish assignment" but that never works. Plus everyone knows I'm more of a Conservative Jew.

Huh, my aunt IS a Spanish teacher who had a student try to get out of making a card by saying they didn't celebrate that holiday. It didn't work for that student either, my aunt just slightly modified the assignment rofl

Well, I said I didn't want to go to a Christian church because I'm Wiccan. I did say grace on Christmas when my mom asked me to. It was akward. I basically thanked the turkey for it's life and gave it a blessing for its next life. Everyone stared at me and said amen. Hmph. Nobody appreciates the dead animal on the table.

I try to avoid the Muslim card unless someone pushes. I decline it 2 times before saying "I'm a Muslim" then it's all awkward .____.

Admittedly, I used the pagan card to skip out on a lecture given by a prima donna on the same day. Basically, it was something akin to "Nope, pagan holiday. Gotta go celebrate."

You really don't get out of anything as a Christian, I think. sweatdrop
@redwolf:I think it's more the fact thanking an animal for it's life is a little pointless from a Christian perspective. The animal's with the Lord, and He's the one who provided it, so thanking it for a sacrifice it wouldn't have given had it had a choice doesn't make much sense. Were the expecting a Christian prayer from you?

And sometimes people call me a liar. Because I'm white as milk and they have this preconceived idea that Muslims are only Arabs..I'm like "Its 98 degrees, and I'm wearing long sleeved shirts and a headscarf for noooo reason at all, you're right, moron" .___. You know I've only met 1 Jewish person in real life? That I knew about. I hear there are a lot in New York, perhaps I can meet one then biggrin Omg that made me sound so bad. Like... **the elusive, Jew, in it's natural habitat**

rofl thats good Apple. Anyway i don't ever use "I'm Pagan I don't do that." ever, it's pointless I don't care what ever it is your attempting to make me do, the only thing i won't do is pray to the "One Almighty God" that Judaism, Christianity and Islam worship, I've been to a church as a youth group and they attempted to make me pray and I was like it aint my thing, no other questions were asked and they really didn't care. Oh on a side note if your Jewish or basically any religion with barely any Calendar days and in school if u get your parents to send a note or something to ur school saying ur w/e religion and you are an active w/e and you take your religion's holidays off your allowed to cause its against the bill of rights or Constitution to deny you that. So basically you get the Calendar Holidays off plus your religions holidays off, my friend (who is also pagan) does this and the school can't mark him with an unexcused absence since its a religious holiday. But yea if you go to a school that is specific to your religion you got no cards to use and I consider it a good thing cause your rubbing it in there face that your whatever and shouldn't have to do w/e it is. I understand if its going to like Church or praying to a god(s) you don't believe in but doing it over making a christmas card is just bull*hit like just make the damn card just make it for your next holiday.
