when it comes to gamers today it seems like every player is in one of two camps. Recreation gamers (gamers who play for the thrill of the fight and fun of the game) and Hardcore gamers (Those who play to win and perfect their game to an extreme level). Alothough i play alot and am decent at most games i am a recreation gamer and now that i am wetting my feet in Xbox Live im feeling like my recreation gaming is a bit weak in comparison to the hardcore players i meet. my question here is, with the outbreak of online multiplayer, is it bad to be a player who plays "Just for fun"?

I'm like Jet on this one. There are a lot of games I play just for the hell of it, and some I'm hardcore.
Oblivion, for example. That's one of my Just for Fun games.
But Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. That's one of my hardcore-perfectionist-completist games. I'm right in the middle of playing it for the third time; Hypermode difficulty (the hardest), and I'm bound and determined to get 100% completion.
Unfortunately I don't play many MMOs of any sort. Or even just MOs, never mind the 'massive' part.
