Ashy wandered through the white lands, the cool bite of the snow feeling soothing on her travel-worn paws. She just couldn't get enough of this place, with her love of snow. Dropping her lower jaw, she scooped a generous amount of snow into her mouth. It quickly melted as water for her to drink, but just then, the young helix began to feel a bit panicked for no reason at all. Instead of chasing the birds zipping just overhead, she snapped her head to follow them and started a snarl at each one. For some reason, she thought she was in danger here - that she'd been found. This was probably due to her feeling another helix nearby, but she slowed her pace and tried to calm down nonetheless.

Harvey was indeed close by. He had been out wandering around, aka he had gotten lost, in his home territory. He hadn't come across another helix ever since Yahto and once again was growing leery of his own kind. He stopped in his tracks, ears pricked up. He had heard a snarl not too far off (he's still out of Ashy's sight range). Cocking his head he wondered who was out here. Shaking himself he made up his mind to just avoid them, whoever they were. However when he started walking he began going right in the direction of the new helix.

While Ashy could maker herself perfectly at home in this winter wonderland, she still felt out of place - and knew that she was an intruder. She didn't care, though, since she wasn't going to steal any food, or cause any trouble unless another was stupid enough to try it first. Her ears remained alert, as she let the panic die down. If he was here, she'd feel the demonic essence he always carried with him. Just as she'd calmed down, a soft crunch of snow brought her attention to a patch of trees close to her. She snapped her head to face the noise, and, spalying her paws, asked, "Who's there?"

Harvey was having a hard time moving now that he had stumbled into a little patch of trees. He only knew he was around trees cause of the smell and the fact that he ran into one. He shook his head after running into a tree and huffed. He just had to wander around into a new area! How he hated doing so and yet he had done it. His head snapped up from his thoughts as he heard someone call out. He was quite close to the female voice.
Coming out of the trees and into Ashy's view he stood tall and had a look on his face like he was looking down on her. "And who's asking?"

She had had absolutely NO idea what part of the North she was in, but that didn't matter to her, since she always found a way out. It wasn't all bad, though, since in getting lost she expanded her knowledge of the area. If she didn't know where she was, HE didn't know where she was either. Things evened out quite well, in her mind.
Just as soon as the male emerged, her hackles rose. Bristling all of her fur and zipping her tail high, puffing out her chest, and making herself look bigger, she glared at him with her fangs shown. She was, however, relieved that it wasn't HIM, but still opted to be on her guard. "Usually, people don't respond to a question with another question." She stated simply, before barking, "Ashy." with a proud tone.

Harvey moved his head so it was facing Ashy as she spoke. "Yes well I'm not like most." He said not knowing she was on guard, "Harvey." He sniffed the air getting the female's scent. It was the only way, besides her voice, he'd know her. He certainly can't see what she looks like, being blind and having a blindfold over one eye.
Having let a silence grow between them for a minute he moved a couple steps closer. "So what are you doing up here Ashy?" He asked taking another sniff. He was able to smell her much better now. However it did put him much closer to her than he'd like.

She was pleased when his eyes fell on her while she spoke, and took it as an act of respect. Good, she snorted to herself, maybe he knows that I'm not to be messed with. Though when he'd told her his name, he had seemed pleasant enough and not hostile. So, slowly, she let her guard drop, taking note of him getting to know her scent. She brushed it off as a formality - she didn't know the customs of those in the North.
The second he'd moved closer, Ashy scrambled to her feet (for she had sat down when her guard dropped), pressed her ears back against her skull and clamped her teeth together sharply. Her wide personal space bubble had been penetrated before she'd shuffled backwards. "Just wandering. I love the snow." She replied, her voice full of distrust and discomfort.

Harvey was about to circle around Ashy, to help get a better idea of where they were and to move away from her, when she jumped to her feet and shuffled away. His ears twitched and swiveled to take in the noise better. Did she just move away? Was I too close or is she like me and likes to stay away from others? He asked himself cocking his head. "The snow does feel nice. Helps keep the ground somewhat level and there's no little obstacles to worry about when walking." He commented moving a couple steps away from her. He sat down wrapping his tail about him.

After he was a much more comfortable distance away from her, she sat back on her haunches and flicked her tail, still somewhat annoyed, but she quickly calmed down. He wasn't hostile...so why did he get that close? "It feels good on travel-worn paws." She remarked as well, "It's softer than normal ground, too." Then, it occurred to her that he might not know where he was, either, "What brings you here?" She turned the question around, curious.

Harvey tilted his head cocking his ears. He heard her sit down and wondered why she got up in the first place. Was it really cause he got close? "I suppose it would feel good on paws that see a lot of ground." He said, "Me? I live here...... well not here but I live in the North. I wandered a bit further than where I do stay but it's nice to know where to place your paws when traveling your home territory."

Ashy shifted her paws uncomfortably. Unless it was necessary, she usually didn't like to drag out casual conversations, unless something caught her attention. She only nodded in response to his comment on how it felt on her paws, with, "It's so pretty, too..". "I know what you mean." She responded, a look of discomfort on her face as she shifted again, lashing her tail once or twice. Not in irritation, but in impatience for the conversation to end, or for him to walk away, or...something. She was still completely oblivious to the fact that he had no sight. "I explore a lot, though, so it's no big task for me." She put in, trying to be courteous.

Harvey had no idea that she had nodded in response to his comment. "I wouldn't really know about that." He said to her so pretty comment. "I don't like to explore a lot. I tend to get lost and can't find my way home. That or I end up walking right off a cliff or something like that."

Thinking that he just disagreed with her, She tipped her head, "You don't think so?" At his next words, Ashy let out a small chuckle, "Yeah, I know what that's like - getting lost," Then, she was quite puzzled. Right off a cliff? Couldn't he see where - then it hit her, and she felt suddenly very stupid. Shaking her head, she pulled her ears back, "Oh, I'm..sorry, I didn't realize..."

"Don't think so? I don't know so. Can't see." He said shaking his head, "It's fine. Most don't realize it until I say something about it." He sat down and scratched his left ear. "For some odd reason they think that I'm just missing an eye and not that I'm blind."

"Still, I'm...sorry." She didn't know what else she could say - she just felt really ashamed, and even rude. Granted, she knew she was rude, but not to those that didn't deserve it....She was one of the 'most' that he was talking about. "Um, would you like some help? I mean, someone to be your eyes, and make sure you make it okay?" She offered. Usually, she wouldn't do this, but she felt horrible for assuming that he could see.
