 these are most of my favorites... MALE: Sonic cool , Tails smile , Knuckles cool , Mighty cool , and Espio smile FEMALE: Amy heart , and Tikal heart , Aw Heck, I like all the Sonic Characters, especially the new ones coming in.

I like all the Sonic characters too, really. ^_^ But my most favorite of my favorites?
Male: Sonic and Shadow are reeeeeeally close on this one.
Female: Amy Rose heart and Blaze the Cat! They rock!
Other: Chaos! I have a great affinity for water-based entities.

Eh I like all the Sonic characters....but I suppose my favorites would be Male-Shadow(from the games) and Female-Julie-Su(from the Archie comics) I like Chaos as well....theres just something about Chaos thats appealing....

I like all the Sonic characters, but my top ones are:
Males: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Dr.Eggman, Shadow, Chris
Females: Amy, Cream, Rouge, Cosmo

OK. To elaborate on these as much as I can:
Sonic - The first videogame hero I truly admired. When I got to play a Sonic game when I was about 7 (I think), his awesome speed amazed me. The Adventure games offered me more insight on Sonic's personality more than the earlier games did, and that made me admire him more. (Well, as a kid, I couldn't make heads or tails of Sonic's personality in the Genesis games as there was no dialogue let alone any cutscenes. sweatdrop ) Lastly, I think my obsession for the color blue stemmed from him. O_o xd
Shadow - OK, I admit it. I'm a sucker for these "angsty anti-hero" types, as people label him. I suppose my affinity for him is on a superficial level. xp I admire him because, in my eyes, he's just downright badarse.
Amy Rose - I was first introduced to her in Sonic Adventure. I took a liking to her because she was funny and cute. Her story was fun to play too! I also admired her for her unbreakable pursuit of Sonic, no matter how much it showed that he just didn't like her that way (yet wink ). And in Sonic Adventure 2, those words of hers to Shadow in the Last Side story really touched me. I'm a sap, I know. Shaddup. xp
Blaze the Cat - She really grew on me throughout the course of Sonic Rush. I couldn't help but pity her for being so alone, and was happy for her when she learned the value of friendship and being true to herself. She was also a neat character to play as!
Chaos - Well, my previous statement sums it up. I have a reverence for water-based entities. My first thoughts of him were that he was a powerful, mindless creature of destruction to be feared. And my, what awesome power he did have. eek But as the plot in Sonic Adventure went on and I learned more about him, I came to admire him as the protective god over his "children". (I know Chaos would generally be considered genderless, but it doesn't feel right not calling him a "he". xp )

I'll be a bit weird and contraversial and say "Robots". Ok, perhaps you can apply gender to them, but until the day the world can agree on wether Gamma is a guy or a girl (Amy's dialogue clearly says "family" in both languages, it's possible for Beta and Gamma to be sistsers, brothers or parents of "Birdy") I'll use the gender inspecific.
But robots are the most interesting point of the Sonic games universe and characters I like to see developed. Sonic Adventure 1 and Sonic Heroes gave us a mild view into their psychology, both as a brainwashed animal and as an artificial life. Seeing Gamma progress and fight it's programming was an interesting journey and even after the programming was broken, it still had the personality of Gamma and not the bird inside of it. It was just fasinating development to me.
As for Metal, well to be honest, he was just a characture of ever single evil clone to ever come out of Japan, Copi Rezo and Mewtwo being the best examples I can put forth for the moment. Huge issues with the original and a pure hatred with the creator for existing and a belief that clones are better than originals.
But hey. It gave him something to be interesting with biggrin

Favourite male character: Hmmmm... Robotnik or Tails. The former amuses me, the latter tends to be less stereotypical than, say, Sonic or Knuckles when done properly. And he can fly, which is always good.
Female: Amy's annoying these days and Rouge ain't exactly my type of character. This really leaves Cream, who is at least a bit different.

Hm...This is a tough one.
Female: Julie-su, Sally Acorn, and Mina the Mongoose. I like Mina because she's one of the standard you-don't-get-the-guy girls, kinda like Erika from Imadoki. Ooh! ooh! I like her paired with Shadow best xD
Male: Well, lesse, Knuckles and Shadow. Mighty is really cool, too, but Sonic and Tails just get on my nerves sometimes.
