Floors: 25 Wild Pokemon: Grimer, Gulpin, Muk, Koffing, Croagunk, Mudkip, Wooper, Ekans, Spearow, Nidoran [M/F], Zigzagoon.

Client: Milotic Mission:"I came here for relaxation and EW! this place is just a disgusting, hideous, pit of the world. Get me out of here NOW!" Dungeon: Toxic Swamp Floor: Client is on floor 15 Rewards: Dragon Scale+Shell Bell+500PD ~~~~~ Zori & SukiThe Swamp's Edge ~ Zori looked on toward the swamp, her nose wrinkled at the smell. "This won't be pleasant, will it?" The Eevee asked quietly. Suki swayed from side to side; shaking her head. "I seriously doubt it, Zo. This doesn't look like a friendly place to be, does it?” The Misdreavus replied calmly, although her anxiety showed through the glimmer of light in her crimson eyes. At least she couldn’t get covered in mud, being a Ghost-type. Zori would be trudging through the thick of it, and it would take away a lot of her speed and agility. ”Well, Suki; it looks like we’ll just have to suck it up. We’ve got a job to do.” Zori sighed, shaking the stiffness from her sleek, black paws. The black Eevee trotted forward, the silver swirls on her body duller than usual in the misty, sun-deprived light. Suki following, her eerie white and blood red form standing out against the dreary atmosphere.
Floor 1 ~ Zori trudged through the mud, shaking her little black paws every so often to shake off the gunk that was clinging to her fur. She could hear the soft hum of her partner’s breathing behind her. Suki was so quiet that Zori was continuously looking back to make sure that her friend was still there. Suki sighed softly, her ghostly form fading in and out of view. The mist made it hard for them to see sometimes. Suddenly, Zori stopped. ”This mist smells wrong, Su. And it’s getting thicker by the minute.” The Eevee told her partner, her eyes narrowed suspiciously. Suki could tell by the way Zori’s ears were flattened that she was concerned for their safety. Suki hovered closer. ”Everything here smells wrong, Zori. Don’t you think that you’re being a little bit paranoid?” The Eevee glared furiously. ”You think I’m just stirring up drama, don’t you?” Hurt and fury flickered in Zori’s golden eyes. ”You are, to put it mildly, Zori.” Zori flattened her ears, grudgingly following the Misdreavus as the pair continued through the mud.
Floor 2 ~ The mud was getting thicker and deeper now. Zori bounded through the mud as carefully and quietly as she could, while Suki floated on just ahead of her. After a few minutes, both Pokemon came to a halt. ”I’ve never seen mist so thick.” Suki commented quietly. You can barely see where you’re going…” Zori glared at her partner, still angry about the Misdreavus’ earlier comment. ”It classifies as smog, now, Suki. And it smells worse than a thousand Koffing put together.” Both Pokemon froze, eyes wide as they glanced at echother. ”Koffing!” They said together, realizing the truth in Zori’s words. So that was it. It had never been mist, or fog. It was the smog from nearby Koffing. That was why it was so difficult to see through, and the explanation for it’s terrible smell. They nodded to eachother, argument forgotten. ”We’d best be on our guard, Zori. We don’t want to be caught up in a fight.” Zori nodded in agreement. ”Let’s do our best.”
Floor 3 ~ Suki was in the lead again. The mud was still letting off it’s usual stench, but the smog was getting thicker. Much thicker. Zori coughed, trying to clear her lungs. She stretched, trying to get her head above the majority of the smog. It didn’t work very well, but it was a little bit better. ”Come on, Zori; I think I see higher ground ahead!” Suki told her partner encouragingly. The dark-furred Eevee bounded ahead, following the Misdreavus toward the hill. Both Pokemon slowed, taking deep breaths of the closest thing they could find to fresh air. Suddenly, Zori coughed again, her tiny frame shaking with the effort to breathe. ”Zori, look out!” Suki cried. Zori’s head shot up, and suddenly, a Koffing came hurtling out of the mist, and slamming into Zori. Tackle. Zori went flying through the muck, and the little Eevee struggled to squirm her way free of it. ”Shadow Ball!” Suki screeched at the Koffing, sending a large ball of shadowy aura slamming into the Koffing. Another emerged from the smog around them, and both cirled in. But Zori was back up and moving. ”Sand Attack!” Sand hurtled into their faces, getting into their eyes. Suki narrowed her crimson eyes. ”Ominous Wind!” Zori ducked in behind Suki, quickly diving out of the way of her teammate’s attack so as not to be hit. The wind carried with it a dark violet aura as it struck both Koffing head-on. The pair of Koffing collapsed into the mud. Zori and Suki glanced at eachother, laughing nervously. For a while, the only sounds were their loud, harsh breathing, and the faint squish of Zori’s paws moving through the mud.
Floor 4 ~ Zori limped slightly as she walked patiently after Suki. The Misdreavus was moving more slowly, to account for Zori’s injury. The long gash on her leg wasn’t deep, but it certainly wasn’t comfortable. Luckily, the mud was much shallower here. They were walking on higher ground. The Eevee flicked her ears back slightly. ”Suki, do we have anything to bind up my leg with?” She asked quietly. The Misdreavus shook her head sadly. ”No. Just food items.” Zori bit her lip, glancing around. ”Hey; maybe we could use those grasses to bind it up?” She suggested brightly, gesturing to up ahead. The faint, jagged outline of grass was barely visibly through the smog. But it was there. ”That might just work, Zo! And the natural oils of the grasses here will protect your cut from the sludge.” Both Pokemon seemed pleased with the idea, but the grasses were still at least a floor away. ”Can you hang on for a little longer without it, Zori?” Suki’s wispy voice echoed with concern. Zori nodded sharply, her coal black ears flicked forward with determination as she limped along next to her partner.
Floor 5 ~ Zori held her injured leg above the mud at an awkward angle, just barely keeping her balance. Suki wascarefully arranging and draping the grasses over her injury. ”How long can it take to bind up a cut, Su?” Zori complained quietly, wincing as Suki prodded the cut. ”I have to make sure that there’s nothing inside it, and that the grass covers up all of it. You don’t want it to get infected, do you?” Zori sighed. ”You’re right, and I’m sorry. I know you’re trying your best.” The Eevee yelped in pain as Suki pulled a little shard of rock from the cut, and Suki immediately started stroking the Eevee’s fur to quiet her. After a few more minutes of awkward balancing, grass tying, and injury examining, the job was done, and Zori set her leg back down into the mud with a quiet squelching noise. ”Thanks, Suki.” Zori told her friend, stretching her stiff muscles. The Misdreavus nodded in reply, her white body glowing with an eerie aura. ”It was no trouble. No let us be on our way; we’re sure to have attracted unwanted attention to ourselves. To stay any longer would be unwise.” Zori nodded in agreement and both Pokemon set off through the smog, heading for the sixth floor of the swamp.
Floor 6 ~ Suki floated just above the mud, with Zori padding silently along beside her. The only noise between the two of them was the squishing of the mud beneath Zori’s paws, and their combined breathing. Even then, they were doing their best to be stealthy. Neither one was in the mood for another fight. They could hear the loud croaking of a nearby Croagunk. Not a Pokemon they wanted to disturb. Croagunk were strong. And they were known to be sour-tempered and easily annoyed. Zori hid herself swiftly in the safety of the grasses, and Suki floated sharply upward, hiding herself in the smog. Zori held her breath as the Croagunk wandered right past her hiding place. If she were to reach out, she could almost touch it’s smooth, blue skin. She swallowed silently. It was definitely a scary Pokemon. She didn’t really like it being so close. After a few moments, it wandered off, and Zori slipped silenty out of the grasses, her breathing quick and quiet. Suki appeared out of the smog. ”That was scary…” Zori whispered softly. ”I thought for sure that he’d catch me…” For a moment, Suki didn’t respond, staring into the smog. ”So did I.” The shakiness of Suki’s voice made Zori look over at her partner. The relief shining in her bright, crimson eyes was enough to make Zori embrace the Ghost-type in a strange, one-way hug. Zori’s forpaw was curled around her friend’s wispy body. It was solid and warm, but Zori kept expecting her paw to go straight through her friend. Suki smiled, and her white and red body curled slightly around Zori’s. As the two pulled away, they both nodded to eachother. ”We got into this together.” ”Let’s get out of it together, then, too.”
Floor 7 ~ The loud splattering of mud behind Suki and Zori was enough to alert them to the presence of the Mudkip. Zori turned on it, growling dangerously at the young Water-type. It was very cute, sure, but it was also incredibly dangerous. Suki’s dark, red-violet aura mixed threateningly with the smog. The Mudkip growled back, either too brave, too aggressive, or too stupid to back down. It shot a blast of water at Suki, and the Ghost-type dodged sideways to avoid the Water Gun attack. Zori reacted instantly. ”Quick Attack!” She hurtled straight into the Mudkip’s side, her movements blurred by the intense speed of her attack. She quickly leaped back out of the Mudkip’s way as it tried to Tackle her in response. Suki was getting irritated. ”Confuse Ray!” The Misdreavus called out, sending waves of pulsing energy across the battle field. The Mudkip staggered, and tried to Tackle Zori again. But it’s confusion caused it to miss miserably, and slam headfirst into the muddy ground. Zori stayed where she was, her tail curling around her hind leg in a nervous, defensive manner. Suki, however, moved in closer for a better look. ”Suki!” Zori cried, as the Mudkip suddenly rolled over, sending a huge shot of water rushing directly into Suki’s face. A Hydro Pump! Zori let out a furious cry, rushing past her unconscious friend and hurling herself at the Mudkip. Bite. She sank her sharp fang into the Mudkip’s blue skin, her energy fueled by fury. The Mudkip cried out in pain, and shook her off, using Protect to defend itself from any further attacks. Zori growled once more, warning it off, and the Mudkip grudgingly retreated into the smog. Zori sniffed at Suki’s collapsed form. She licked the mud off her friend’s face, and carefully dragged her unconscious form onto her back. Zori carried her unconscious friend through the smog, heading determinedly away from the site of the battle.
Floor 8 ~ Zori trudged along. Her progress through the thick mud was slow and difficult. Suki didn’t weigh much, but it was difficult to keep her properly balanced on her back. She didn’t want the poor Misdreavus to fall. She was continously looking around, anxious that the Mudkip would return, or that another Pokemon would show up. Zori flattened her dark ears, the pale silver swirls on her fur glowing faintly in a way that reminded her of an Umbreon. Zori paused as she reached a spot of dry ground, and set Suki gently down onto the dry surface. She pressed a gentle paw to her friend’s forehead. ”Come on, Su. Wake up.” Zori pleaded, not daring to raise her voice above a whisper. ”Suki, I need you. Milotic needs you. You’ve got to wake up.” She sighed with relief as she watched Suki’s eyes open. ”…Zo? Is that you?” ”Yeah. I’m here, Suki.” The Misdreavus smiled, carefully floating up off the ground, and turning herself right-side up. ”I was beginning to wonder why the ground was moving. And covered in fur.” Zori laughed softly. You’re so weird, Suki.” ”I know. And you love it.” Both Pokemon were smiling now. ”Come on; let’s get moving. We can take a proper break when we reach floor nine. It’s too dangerous here.” Zori murmured to her friend. Suki nodded and followed. ”Thank Arceus the little brat didn’t hit harder. I feel like someone’s thrown my skull through a brick wall…” Zori just laughed.
Floor 9 ~ Zori sprinted across the rare section of bare ground, stretching out her stiff, mud-soaked legs. Suki watched with mild interest, digging through their bag for their apples that they had brought. She pulled them out with gleaming eyes, her belly growling. Neither or them could go another floor without food. At the sight of the apples, Zori stopped running around, and trotted over to Suki’s side. ”Apples?” Zori asked brightly, staring hungrily at the fruit. Suki nodded, and began to divide all three of their apples up between the two of them. This way, they’d both have enough energy to get through the entire dungeon together. Zori bit into her apple happily, thoroughly enjoying the taste of the delicious, sweet fruit. It made a crisp crunching sounds with every bite, and it only made her hungrier. Suki licked her lips. Clearly she’d enjoyed it just as much as Zori had. The pair of Pokemon lazed about on their little patch of dry ground for a little while longer, resting up. Zori’s leg was really beginning to bother her, and Suki resolved to bring Zori straight into the hospital the moment that their mission was completed. As the pair got back up from their break, Zori felt Suki staring at her leg. She turned. ”Are you sure you’re okay to keep going, Zori? I really think we should bind up your leg again.” Suki asked her quietly, her tone ringing with concern. ”I’ll be fine, Su. Don’t worry so much. We can bind it up again a little bit later on, if it makes you feel better, but we really can’t stay here much longer. It’s just too dangerous to stay in one spot.” Zori replied. Suki frowned nervously, but nodded, and the pair wandered off toward the next floor of the dungeon.
Floor 10 ~ Suki floated a little bit ahead of Zori, keeping a sharp lookout for any approaching enemies. The grasses on Zori’s leg were coming loose, letting mud into her cut. She was limping pretty heavily, but there was nothing they could do. The grasses here were just as mud-coated as the ground was. It would only do more harm than good to put those on. They could hear hurried footsteps behind them. The Mudkip from earlier was following them. They’d discovered this not long after they’d left the ninth floor, when they somehow happened across a set of rather familiar Mudkip prints. Neither Zori nor Suki were pleased by this fact. Zori flattened her ears, her jaw set as she tried to ignore the sting of the mud in her leg. She straightened up her posture a little bit, and tried to speed up her pace to avoid another confrontation with the Mudkip. Suki adjusted her pace to match Zori’s. The pale, ghostly Misdreavus flat out refused to leave Zori behind, and make her own way to their client. Zori had defended her, and carried her on her back when she couldn’t make her own way through. It was only right that she returned the favour. She felt a strong bond with her new partner. She had a bit of a temper, sure, and she was pretty emotional, but that made her who she was. Suki didn’t mind. The soft-hearted Eevee turned her head toward her, her large, golden eyes wide with shock. ”Something’s coming, Su.” Zori whispered urgently. ”The Mudkip?” Suki could handle an injured Mudkip. ”No. It smells different. I think it’s a Muk…” Suki frowned. Muks were made up of sludge. The Pokemon could be hiding anywhere, and they’d never know it. Until it decided to attack, that is. Which it did. Zori screeched, leaping for higher ground as the sludge beneath them rose up. A massive, toothless mouth opened up in the center of the rising slime. Suki floated warily higher, watching the Muk’s small, angry eyes open up on either side of it’s large mouth. Crap. This was not a fight they wanted to get into. Suki sped toward Zori. ”Hurry! Let’s get out of here!” The Misdreavus called out to her partner. Zori definitely agreed, moving as fast as she could manage with her injured leg. She could hear Zori’s harsh breathing beside her as they fled, and the loud, low rumbling of the Muk behind as it gave chase. Zori squeaked in pain as her leg bindings caught on something in the mud, and she tumbled down onto the ground. The grass bandage had come off, and her leg was exposed to both the mud, and the slime of the angry Muk. Zori flattened her ears in terror as The Muk reared up, spitting a Sludge Bomb at her. Suki threw herself into the way, taking the full force of the blow. Zori’s eyes widened in shock as Suki went spinning backward through the air, but stayed upright. She sent a Sand Attack spraying straight into the Muk’s face, quickly followed by a Shadow Ball from Suki. The Muk roared, using Acid Armor to heighten it’s defense. It swiped at them with one of it’s gooey arms, but it missed, due to the sand in it’s eyes. Suki used another Shadow Ball, followed by a Confuse Ray to keep it’s massively powerful attacks from making contact. After a final Bite from Zori, the Muk fled back into the depths of the swamp. Zori and Suki fled in the opposite direction, heading for the eleventh floor.
Floor 11 ~ Zori and Suki moved silently along this floor, searching it for any sign of the grasses they’d used earlier to bind up Zori’s leg. Their battle had deepended the injury, and infection was becoming a huge danger. Both Pokemon were exhausted from their battle against the Muk, and so neither of them had any arguments to lying down in the mud to rest. After a few minutes, Suki floated back up out of the mud, and continued to look for grasses. She returned after an hour or so, with a pile of relatively clean grasses. Zori held still without complaint as she began to wind the long, oily grasses around her injured leg. It hurt quite a bit, she had to admit, but struggling would do no one any good. The pair spent almost another half hour there before they were both up and moving again, heading for the next section of the swamp. They were hoping that it would be drier than the previous sections. No such luck.
Floor 12 ~ Zori limped alongside Suki. They were getting better at this. Neither one had spoekn a word since the incident with the Muk, but both knew when their partner needed to stop and rest, or when Suki had to adjust Zori’s makeshift grass bandage. The ducked into the grasses for what had to be the eighth time in this section of the swamp, hiding from a passing Zigzagoon. Zigzagoons seemed to be very common here. They were quiet literally everywhere. As the scruffy, raccoon-like Pokemon passed by, they slid out from their hiding spots, and continued along. Only to hide again. Suki looked incredibly annoyed. She didn’t have enough energy left to take them all down, so she had to hide, but it was still annoying. Zori was of the same opinion. Their pattern of walking, spotting enemies, and hiding continued on for what had to be the longest time before they reached the thirteenth floor.
Floor 13 ~ Suki glanced over at her partner. ”Zori?” The little black and silver Eevee turned her head to look at the Misdreavus. ”Yeah, Suki?” That was funny; it didn’t look like she needed another break. She seemed to have regained the majority of her energy. She just had something to say. ”How far are we from the place where the Milotic was last sighted?” ”Just two more floors to go, Su.” She replied quietly. ”Then why is the grass rustling?” A rather familiar figure emerged from the grasses, towering over both Suki and Zori. The Croagunk. Zori hissed, spitting at it. She could feel her fur fluff up threateningly. Suki let loose a powerful Psybeam, hitting the Croagunk square in the chest. The Croagunk retaliated with Sucker Punch, and Zori watched her partner go flying into the mud once again. Zori used a combination of Quick Attack and Headbutt, slamming hard into the Croagunk’s side. It shook her off as easily as a Water-Type would put out a fire. She groaned painfully, hauling her body out of the mud. A sudden blast of water shot past her, striking the Croagunk in the face. The Mudkip! It darted past her, and shot yet another Hydro Pump at their opponent, this time hitting him in the stomach. Zori used Sand Attack, sending a spray of sand straight into the Croagunk’s eyes. ”Shadow Ball!” A huge ball of shadowy aura shot past, striking the final blow to the Croagunk. It toppled down to the ground, faceplanting in the mud. Zori and Suki let out a collective sigh of relief. As Zori turned to thank the Mudkip, she realized that it had already disappeared. She frowned, and Suki led the way to the next floor.
Floor 14 ~ They were almost there. After the battle with the Croagunk, the majority of Pokemon seemed to stay out of sight, hiding from the outsiders that trudged through their swamp. Some showed themselves, but they never made any aggressive or hostile moves toward either Suki or Zori. For this, Team Stormcloud was extremely grateful. They were very tired, and this dungeon was fraying their last nerves. They were pretty hungry by now, but when they were so close to the end of the dungeon, there was no point in eating their supplies. They could eat when they returned. Every so often, one or the other would ask a question about their location, or their direction of travel, but most of the time, they were both quite quiet to avoid agitating the native Pokemon. They paused once or twice to adjust Zori’s grassy bandage. The gash on her leg was becoming increasingly worse, and Suki was sure that the sludge, mud, and slime of their journey had started an infection. They would need to visit the hospital as soon as they could.
Floor 15 ~ Zori’s eyes lit up as she spotted a slim, graceful silhouette up ahead. She limped forward, and Suki took the lead. ”Hey! Milotic! We’re here to take you home!” Suki called out, delighted and relieved to have found their client. They could finally go home, now! The Milotic turned it’s head toward them, looking very irritated. ”What in Arceus’ name took you so long?! You should’ve been here hours ago!” It snapped. Zori’s ears drooped. ”We’re here now… Would you like to go home?” The Milotic sighed heavily, as though considering the option. ”Of course. What are you? A Wobbuffet? …Idiots…” Zori’s little body shook with fury at the Milotic’s harsh words, but Suki held her back, and simply held up their badge. It glowed brightly, and Milotic was transported back to the guild where it belonged. Suki glanced at Zori. ”Don’t let that pain in the rear bother you, Zori. Probably just scared and tired from being here alone for so long. Now come on, let’s get you home.” The badge shone again, and this time, Zori, Suki, their bag, and their badge were all gone from the dungeon.

The Milotic flicked her tail in a haughty manner. "I can NOT believe you took so long saving me! Do you have an idea how long this mud will take to wash out!" She huffed and looked away as though about to leave without handing over any rewards, but seemed to think better of it. "Fine! Take your blasted trinkets!" Using one of her 'feelers' she dropped a small bag before the Eevee and then slithered off with her head held high. What a diva. Inside the duo would find a Dragon Scale, Shell Bell, 2000PD and 30 Tokens.
The next day a Mudkip, Croagunk and even that prissy Milotic appeared at the guild, asking to join the team! Though they could only take one.
[That was an excellent first mission! ;3 I can tell you are going to do fine in the guild!

 Zori & SukiZori's claws dug into the dirt, except for the ones on her hind leg, as it was currently pretty much useless. She muttered a rather sour thanks to the Milotic for their reward, and both Suki and Zori watched it leave.
Zori and Suki glanced at eachother. Both knew which Pokemon they'd take on as a teammate. "We'd be honoured if you'd join our team." Suki told the Mudkip happily. Zori nodded in agreement. "You really helped us out in the dungeon, and you were a strong, clever opponent in battle." Both Pokemon smiled at the little Water-type, and he smiled back. "My name is Suki, and this is Zori." "What's your name?"
~~~~~
And with their new member added to their group, they finally left for the hospital, seeing as Zori's leg was pretty much unusable until she got it treated.
{{ Thank you~ }}
Client1: Plusle Client2: Minun Mission: "My brother Minun and I were playing hide and seek, but now I really cant find him! Moms going to kill me if I don't bring him home soon! Help!" Dungeon: Toxic Swamp Floors: 17 Rewards: Magnet + Spark TM
--- Reserved for Team Serenity 8D x Claire & Andrew ||| Outside the Swamp
Claire wrinkled her nose in disgust. It smelled awful, and it looked awful. The two pokemon hadn't taken one step inside the strange territory, and already the Dratini could tell that she was going to hate it here. She glanced at her partner to see if had the same feelings covering his face. As usual, he seemed calm and silently eager to start their first mission, but she couldn't help but think there was that same hint of sickness in his eyes, just as well that his face was strained. Honestly, it figured, he'd never admit anything was wrong with him. Not even a way-word smell. She sighed, " You just had to choose this for our first mission. Out of all the options we had, go with the Toxic Swamp... " Andrew turned his head and frowned at her, slight confusion showed in his voice. " Really now? I thought you'd be the last person to complain. It's out first mission and there's a Minun in there that needs our help." Claire glanced away, feeling a tad guilty. He was right. This is what they became a team for, and even if there was a place ten times worse then it appeared already they would still have to go in, as long as someone needed help. " Guess your right. " The dratini looked back at him. Though she had always thought the hero roll would be a tad more pleasant. As a silent reply, Andrew nodded and headed off into the swamp with an uneasy Claire at his heels. When she took her foot step in the swamp, or more accurately... jump to a dry rock, she felt that spark of eagerness and excitement in her chest once again.
||| Floor One
Eventually they had to get off of their rock bridges, and sadly that eventually came too soon for them. It was only a few moments before there was nothing left but ferns, trees, and small pools of sludge. Claire slowly inched off her small platform and slid onto the ground. It appeared hard, and she smiled with relief when nothing moved under her. Next came Andrew, who was a little unsure about where he should land himself. About of foot away from the dratini was a spot of ground that seemed solid enough to carry him. He took a step off the rock and onto the earth. Fweeesshh... A sound came out like a wet paper machette being crumbled came from underneath him. With a wail he sank down and mud splattered everywhere. When all was quiet again, he realized the mud was up to his waist. The Larvitar shivered with disgust, while Claire couldn't help but bust into laughter. With a growl, Andrew dragged himself out of the muck. " Not funny..." he muttered, but she couldn't stop. Instead the dratini turned around to keep walking. She hadn't realized there was softer ground ahead. With another 'Fweeeshhh, Claire gasped and fell down sideways into the muck. As she took a few moments to sit up and think over what just happened, she heard uncontrolable chuckling. " Alright, it was a little funny. " Andrew couldn't look straight after. The dratini crawled out and frowned. " Fine, whatever. Karma's taught me my lesson. Let's get out of here. " She set off deeper into the swamp with a satisfied Larvitar beside her.
||| Floor Two
There were noises among the ferns all around them. Andrew swore he heard scuttling among the trees and shadows across the ground. He kept his eyes close around the swamp around them. Perhaps it was a ghost pokemon, here to freak them out. On the other hand, it could very well be some bird looking for fallen nuts or something. It was much to fast to be a muk or croakunk. Or it could be what he feared worst, his imagination. The larvitar didn't want to admit it, but he was nervous. What were to happen if he would faint? Him and Claire didn't have any revival seeds, and there was no way their first mission was going to be a failure. He didn't want to be paranoid the whole mission. Not when there were still 15 more floors to go. It simply couldn't be afforded. He stopped walking. " Claire, I'm not the only one hearing this, right? " Claire gave him a confused look. She hadn't heard anything at all, the only thing she was focused on was finding the stairs to the next floor. " No, why. " He looked at her for a moment more, expecting her to say more, then shook his head and looked away. Claire knew this meant he wanted to drop the subject, so she simply kept on walking. After a few more minutes walk, they found the thing they were searching for. The stairs were wooden, old, and covered in moss. Never-the-less, they traveled up them and onto the next floor.
||| Floor Three
The sounds were getting closer and more frequent, and the Larvitar was getting sick of it pretty darn fast. He wanted to shout, to tell whatever was stalking them to get out already and face them. That he was tired of having to constantly look over his shoulder. There were things he didn't want to risk though. He didn't want every pokemon on the floor to come find them, nor did he want Claire to look at him like he was some crazy freak. Instead he simply picked up the pace and went ahead of his partner. To his relief, the next floor wasn't too far off. In fact it was only a minute or two from where they just were. He couldn't help but think how lucky it was for them. As Claire and Andrew looked up the stairs, however, got closer; the more a feeling of uneasyness grew in the Larvitar. A muggy, eerie fog was rolling out of the next floor.
||| Floor Four (Haha, say that 5 times fast. cx)
They were half-way through the floor when the unexpected for Claire came lashing out, and the expected for Andrew appeared at last. A flash of fur shot out of the shadows and tackled the dratini to the ground. She wailed, for she had no moments to react at all. The next moment he had ran at Andrew shoving him out of the way and taking his bag before running back into the undergrowth. The larvitar grew wide eyed, and out of the corner of his eye rush a very annoyed Claire. " That sneaky son of a - " She went after the theif as fast as she could, swimming through the murky water as fast as she could. Andrew took off after her as fast as he could, but having a hard time keeping up, trying to step through all the muck and mud. The small dragon wouldn't let him out of her sight though, which was a hard feat with all the smog. After a while, she saw a faint outline running up to the next floor. " No way! No freakin' way! " She yelled out and crawled out of the water to wait for her partner. He arrived a few minutes later, covered in a bit more mud then before and a tad exausted. " Alright, what the hell just happened? By the time she had arrived, Claire had relaxed considerably. " Well, besides the obvious... we have no supplies. No berries or food or anything, and we're not even half way to where we need to be." She couldn't help but think how depressing that thought was. Andrew frowned thought of something. Everything was in there. The supplies and their badge. They needed to get that bag back, or they'd be stuck here for who knew how long. Worst came to worst, they'd need someone to rescue them. Jeez. How embarassing would that be? " Let's go after 'em then." He said simply. " I mean, do we even have a choice? " Claire swished her mouth to the side. " Nope... Not really... " She stood up. This was such a huge detour, it wasn't even funny. " Alright then, let's go. " The two pokemon went off to find their culprit.
||| Floor Five
It must have been almost an hour they were on the fifth floor, looking for any sign of the shadowy pokemon. The two pokemon had found the exit to the next floor a while ago, but there was no sign of it at all. They had asked a few fellow pokemon whether they had seen someone with their bad gone by, but there was simply no dice. Finally, Andrew grumbled. " Perhaps we should try the next board. Whoever it was must know this swamp by heart, he could be at any level of this stank filled place. " Claire frowned at him. " And what are the odds of that? I say we go and find that Minun and worry about the bag later. " Andrew sighed, simply wishing that it was that easy. " How do you expect to get out of this place then? We need... ... Our badge." She groaned, finished the sentence for him. He may have thought of that before, but not Claire. It had taken her this long to figure it out. " Well, he's not here. Let's just go try and look somewhere else."
||| Floor Six
A rustle in the bushes alerted them, a sound so familiar to them before. Andrew and Claire exchanged a glance, the same thought on both of their minds. It must be the guy that stole their bag ! 'He is /so/ going down. Without thinking about it too much, he charged after the sound till he saw a shape. Then he felt the instinct to attack. " Iron Head ! " The top of his head turn a glowing white, his body turning from a cool gray to a bright silver. The Larvitar slammed himself head first into the stranger, and knocked him across the clearing. When he had released all the energy from his attack, he came to realize that the pokemon was a Nidoran, a lady nidoran to be specific. And boy, did she look pissed now. Andrew didn't care though, he wanting his things back. He glanced around for sight of Claire, who had just finished inspecting the clearing. " I don't see out bag anywhere. " She called, a confused look covered her face. Andrew let out an irritated sigh. She must have stashed it away somewhere. " Alright, what did you do with our stuff?" He demanded an answer. " What the ******** are you talking about? I didn't take your s**t! " Claire came up beside Andrew and spoke with a much calmer voice. " Please, we're a rescue team and we need our supplies back to save a kid a go home. Can we have our things back? " The Nidoran groaned. " For god's sake, it was probably that damned Zigzagoon. He steals all of our crap. " The Larvitar glare pierced the wild pokemon, not believing him. Claire shoved him till she shook his view. " Come on and relax, maybe she can help us. Excuse me- " She was interrupted by the pokemon charging at them. " Double kick ! " She shouted and slamming her foot into Andrew's chest, followed by a second blow to his lower back. The Larvitar let out a cry of pain and surprise, and was harshly pushed to the ground. The poison pokemon turned around and tried to deliver the same blow to Claire, but after seeing what just happened, she was more then ready. The dragon pokemon waited until she was close enough and, " Dragon Rage ! " Clouds of pure black shot from her mouth and twords the Nidoran, The yellow and blue smoke gave it a strange burning and painful feeling. Andrew had recovered by now and stood up . " Dark Pulse ! " He shouted fiercely. Not a moment later an eerie darkness swept from him in a circle, then cast itself in their enemies' direction until the foe was engulfed. The two team members stood beside each other, ready to attack again if it was needed. When the Nidoran was free from her momentary dark prison she looked at them with weak, scornful eyes before heading back into the depths of the swamp. After a few seconds, Claire sighed with relief. " A few floors up? " She thought aloud. Andrew took a moment to grimace over the pain, then took a deep breath and let it all go. " Come on, the sooner we go, the better. "
||| Floor Seven
Another floor of constant searching, and still they had no luck in their mini side quest. They did however, had a run in with a few Sparrow, who didn't particularly like the rescue team's presence during their mid-day meal... ( If It was mid-day anyways, they couldn't tell through the thickness of the swamp.) About a wild chase from crazy bird pokemon later, they were resting in the driest place available. There was good news though, for Claire had tripped into the brush and found an oran berry. So running like there was no tomarrow did some good after all. She hung on to it, saving it for when it was needed. Eventually, after a bit more time running around, they had found the exit and headed up to the next floor.
||| Floor Eight
Andrew couldn't help but notice that half-way through the floor, he was actually starting to get hungry. Well great. That's just great. He groaned. Now was so not the time to be stuffing his face with an apple... A big, tasty, and juicy apple. Claire noticed the disruption occuring with her partner. " Somethin' wrong? " She asked. He shook his head no. " It's no big deal. " He answered quietly. " Just starting to get a little hungry, that's all." The dratini frowned. So, he wasn't the only one? Honestly, her stomach had been bothering her for two floors now, but she never told him that. She would have eaten that berry she found if it wasn't to be needed in the future and didn't fill up her belly so little. " Same, but let's keep looking. Maybe we'll find an apple tree or some gummies or something along the way. " Because obviously after searching a while, and talking to a few pokemon, the perp wasn't on this floor either. It sucked. It really did. They found the stairs and climbed to their next destination.
||| Floor Nine
A few friendly pokemon they had talked too had told them more about this Zigagzoon who couldn't keep to himself. Apparently, the common thief lived in this part of the swamp, at the edge of the area in a small den. Claire's and Andrew's spirits perked up instantly, it was about damn time! The real good news was that it wasn't too big of a floor, and they were tired of working through every foot of land searching for this guy. There was only so much crud that they could have on themselves. The sad thing was that they were pretty much used to much of the feelings and smells of this place. In soon time, they stumbled upon a spot of dry land, a cave reaching underneath a tree. Andrew, itching for payback, was the first to stick his head in. As it turns out, no one was there. In frustration, Andrew kicked the loose gravel around him. Oh, what luck ?! Claire simply sat down and sighed in disappointment. Well, they tried. As much as she looked forward to stop the long searching, they would have to do it again on this floor. Even then, it could easily surpass them and go anywhere it pleased. He could be where they started right now and they would never know at all. " Come on, let's go. " Andrew said lowly, his eyes a slint. Perhaps they could find a few merciful sparrows to take them out of this place, or something along those lines. Claire quietly agreed and set off behind him. The two traveled a while until they found the exit too the next floor. Before the two headed up, A familiar rustling in the ferns. The Dratini grabbed the attention of her partner and directed it to the noise. Not willing to run into a pessimistic Nidoran again, he approached slowly and more quietly. There he was. The Zigzagoon was searching through a dark blue bag, an apple core was laying near by, as well as an chomped up oran berry. Claire waved her tail at Andrew, a silent order for him to wait a minute. Slightly disgrundled, he agreed, keeping his eyes on his bag and the pokemon the whole time. The dratini silently slipped into the mud and moved quietly to the other side of the undergrowth, the moved as close as she could while remaining in the bushes. When the moment was right, she struck. " Thunder wave ! " She shouted a jumped out of the bushes as a rush of yellow lighting rose from her body and flew twords her target, leaving the Zigzagoon stunned ad unable to run away. Seeing the hidden cue, Andrew jumped out of the bushes and bit the pokemon on the shoulder. The thief cried out in pain, but was in able to move hardly at all. " That was for taking our things, and this is for pissing me off. " He was about to kick the normal pokemon again before Claire interrupted. " Woah, woah. Hold on. It's alright. He'll stay like that for a long, while. You hurt him while he was defenseless. It's enough. " She glared down at him, though it was tempting to hit him herself, it wasn't cool and they had other things too do. Andrew scoffed and grabbed their bag. Now wasn't this just great?
||| Floor Ten
The two pokemon continued to trudge through the swamp, Larvitar occupied with truffeling through the things left over in their backpack. 'The man doesn't exactly clean up after himself, now does he?' he thought, taking out and throwing away stray crumbs, dried mud, and quite a few more stray leaves then you'd think would be in. He continued reaching his arm in, while his heart was beating harder with worry, till he sighed with relief when he had found what he was looking for. "Thank you, Arceus." he shouted, bringing out a bright plate with their teams name on it. Exactly what he was looking for. "What is it? Claire paused and turned around to look at him, a slightly confused look on her face. "Our badge... we can -" - "- Get out of here! The dratini grinned and finished his sentence for him. He returned the smile. Now they could both get out of here. Andrew stashed it away where he knew where he wouldn't lose it. Both of them suddenly were now both quick on their feet, or - err- tail. "Come on, let's hurry. The sooner we go, the sooner I can take a bath." Claire joked lightly and hurried to the next level.
||| Floor Eleven
This floor they reached, it looked so familiar to Andrew. He couldn't quite place his finger on it, he knew for a fact that he had never been here before (that was simply impossible), but it was the oddest feeling of De JaVu. He frowned, slowing down his pace down slightly. Claire picked up on this and asked, "Is something wrong?" she asked, but he simply ignored her caught up in his own thoughts. There wasn't as much mud here, they had reached solid ground (much to their relief). Stones... no boulders... much larger then them were all around, vines climbing up the the stones and trees. Small strings of light came down from the sky. This place was so eerie, yet tranquil. It reminded him of when he was younger, much longer before he was able to come out and about on his own. He stopped moving and blinked slowly. It was coming back slightly now, he was unsure.. unaware of what the world was or who he was. He saw two large shadows in front of him, one he recognized as his father. They were talking, no... they were arguing. The other was a women, shouting that she didn't want him. She attacked the other, then left. What the hell? It was soon after the shadows disappeared and the larvitar let out a big shudder. Okay, that was seriously weird. "Andrew, Andrew?" The dratini called out with worry. He shook his head and groaned, "I'm fine." Andrew tried to hide the growl in the back of his voice and stomped off. "..For god's sake." Claire flicked her tail, confused and uncomfortable, and followed him.
||| Floor Twelve
Though Claire was still happy with her upbeat pace through the area, Andrew actually lagged behind, looking only a little glum. She honestly kinda took this as a shock, he always looked pissed, not down. Yes, there was indeed a very huge difference between the two emotions. She frowned and kept on walking, not bothering to look at him. "Alright, whats keeping you down?" she asked, a hint of sternness to her voice. "We should be kinda happy, we got our things back and we can't be far off." In response, he snorted and turned his head away, refusing to speak. Claire, however, didn't push it and simply continued down the path. It wasn't until they had found the stairs to the next levels that he finally decided to say something. He sighed once again, "I think I saw my mother." The larvitar replied slowly, "To say the least she wasn't very pleasant. She didn't want me. She attacked us." He started up the steps and Claire was honestly unsure of what to say. Instead she muttered, "I'm sorry." and followed him up to the next level.
||| Floor Thirteen
The near entire time the two of them were pretty much silent. Andrew had nothing to say and was quite honestly quite lost in his own thoughts. Claire was completely aware, but didn't want to push her partner and/or make the situation and bit more awkward then it already was. Nope, that would not be good at all. She couldn't help but wonder though, was his life that bad? Surely his life wasn't terrible, not as much as it could be with other pokemon. She knew he had grow up his entire life with his father, the two of them were very close... in their own special... jackass kinda way. (The apple hadn't fallen far from the tree, that was certain.) She had always assumed that he had been happy as a child. Then again though... to see and hear first hand that your mother didn't want anything to do with you, that had to seriously hurt. Then again, it could have just been his imagination. This swamp smelled bad enough to make you go crazy (and the sad thing being they had gotten used to the smell.), and she was seriously hungry, in fact.. starting to feel dizzy. He must be feeling the same way. It didn't take long to find the way to the next floor.
||| Floor Fourteen
Go figure that the larvitar still seemed as hard as a rock and still haven't spoke up at all. Claire was starting to feel even more dizzy, the world spinning around slightly. That's it, she simply couldn't take it in anymore. "Alright, Andrew!" she shouted, "I can't move another inch without eating something!" The dratini let out a melodramatic groan and let herself "Hollywood collaspe" unto the floor. Andrew stopped and turned to look at her. He snorted and rolled his eyes, "How old are again? Honestly." The larvitar walked over to her and sat down, searching through the bag and bringing out what they were lucky to have left. A big apple. He quickly split the fruit into two equal halves and placed one of the pieces in front of her. She glanced at him gratefully and ate it as quickly as she could, him eating much slower and calmer. When she finished, she watched him eat sadly. That definately helped a lot, but it still satisfied her only a little. "Is there anything else we can eat?" she asked him. He shook his head. "We have that Oran berry you found earlier, but I have a strong feeling that we are going to need that later on. Come on, lets go." he finished his fair portion and stood backing up, continued walking on. She groaned. This was a huge downside. "And I have a strong feeling it's going to be like this every mission." She guessed she was just going to have to learn how to tame her stomach.
||| Floor Fifteen
Andrew frowned as they padded through the muck once again. There was something the matter, not that there wasn't enough weird things in this swamp, this stood out from the others... like before with the Zigzagoon. "There's something wrong here." Claire cooed, picking up on the same feelings this time around. There was another shuffled in the bushes, a chill went down the dratini's spine. "It's him again !!" She shouted at the top of her lungs and taking in a deep breath. "Twister!" Small winds came and formed in front of her face, growing larger and larger until it was large enough to sustain it's self and suck in whatever might happen to get in it's path. She sent it in the direction of the moving undergrowth. It picked up mud and weak surrounding's on it's way. Out of the bushes, it swept up and strange pokemon, dragging it in the air and swinging it around effortlessly before flinging it into the middle of an open clearing. The two ran over, prepared to fight whatever it was if they needed too. A rather old pokemon stood up, wrinkled with hard life and age. It appeared to be an elder Croagonk. Destiny was about to use dragon rage before Andrew had stopped her. "This is my land." he called to them. "You are trespassing!" The tips of his fingers started to glow a bright indigo. He was going to attack... this is just what they needed. Not. They were so close. They couldn't risk getting too injured, and he seemed experienced. "Wait! Andrew called just as he was about to jump. Claire picked up on this, though she couldn't help but flick her tail. Something about this pokemon just rubbed her the wrong way. "Please, we don't want any trouble. There is a Minun near by that needs our help two floors up... We're a rescue team... see?" The larvitar brought out and flashed their badge at the pokemon. His hands rested and his eyes squinted. It seemed like he was deep in thought. "Come on, I'll show you the way." Claire look slightly surprised and smiled at Andrew, who nodded to her. The two followed the pokemon through the land.
||| Floor Sixteen
The two said goodbye to the elder, as he refused to go any father then the stairs. ...Something about protecting his father's land. Oh well. Quite honestly, Claire felt a little more comfortable anyways. On the other hand, Andrew was a little disappointed. Another floor to wonder around in. The two started searching once again. "You know..." the dratini started, "This plusle and minun are pretty crazy to play hide and go seek in a place like this." she wondered out loud. "I mean, how did they even get this far? It's almost impossible." The larvitar shrugged. "I'm not even sure how they got past the outside. Minun is one damn dedicated player." Claire smirked, and gasped when she found the stairs to the next floor. "Finally!" she shouted and sprinted for the exit. Andrew chuckled lightly to himself and ran after her. It was about time to say the least.
||| Floor Seventeen
Lucky for them, it only took a few minutes to hear an off sound. The sound of crying. Following the echos, the rescue team manage to fine a small shape among the tall grass. A dirty splash of bright yellow and blue against the bland colors of the swamp. "Minun!" Claire shouted and ran up to the small pokemon. He gasped and cowered, clearly scarred. "Don't worry, we're here to rescue you and take you home!" As larvitar approached, the minun glanced at both of him and cried. "I want my mommy!" Claire tried to comfort him, but Andrew almost laughed lightly in amusement. He seemed a little too old to call his mother that, but he couldn't exactly blame him either. "Let's get the hell out of this dump." Andrew said and brought out their team badge. As if on queue when he raised it in the air, A bright yellow light came down from the sky, surrounding the three of them. In almost a moment, they (and everything they had with them) were gone in a flash. The only thing left was Claire's echo of joy and accomplishment.
Reserve Client: Ivysaur Mission: “My lovely Mareep! She is blind and has wandered into the horrors of the Toxic Swamp! Accompany me upon rescuing her?” Dungeon: Toxic Swamp Floors: 18 Rewards: Black Sludge and 2000PD Bytes and Raze Outside SwampBytes looked around the swamp's entrance, not really impressed. "So this is where our first mission is?" He asked. Raze nodded. "That's the one I signed up for.I wonder where our client is" He responded, also looking about. As if on cue, an Ivysaur walked up to the two."Excuse me"She said. Bytes and Raze looked over. "Are you the client?" Raze asked. The Ivysaur nodded. "Cool.Let's get going!" Bytes said, rushing into the swamp. Raze sighed."If we don't follow him now, he'll get lost and it'll be impossible to find him" Ivysaur nodded and followed the Rhyhorn in. Floor 1As the three entered the swamp, Raze shook his head. "This place stinks!" He said, rubbing his nose. Bytes responded by laughing. "It's times like these that I'm glad I don't got a nose"He said,poking the spot a nose would be, "Now let's get going!" Bytes started to head into the dungeon, Raze and Ivysaur quickly following behind."Come on, Bytes! We can't get separated!" Raze said, voicing his concern. Bytes just sighed and looked back at his partner. "Then hurry up!" Bytes looked around the swamp as the trio walked. This was his first time in a place like this and he wanted to take in everything. Raze, on the other hand, was uneasy. Not only was this their first mission but it seemed way too quiet. The only sounds they could hear was the squishing of the ground under their feet. "Where are all the wild pokemon?" Raze said. Ivysaur piped up. "I heard the wild pokemon are only deeper in the dungeon" She said. That comment put Raze's mind at ease as the group continued deeper into the swamp. Floor 2Bytes let out a bored sigh as the group continued through the muck. This was unbearably boring for him. He wanted someone to fight, someone like Kuro. Raze, on the other hand, didn't mind it being so quiet. What he did mind though, was the constant stink in the air. He looked at Ivysaur and had to ask. "How can you stand the smell?"He asked her. Ivysaur smiled as she replied to him. "I'm a plant.I love earthy smells" She breathed in deeply. Raze just sighed." This place smells horrible" He complained again. Bytes soon got fed up with it and jumped onto Raze's back. "What are you doing?!"Raze said,surprised by Bytes' sudden action. "Just relax"Bytes responded, untying Raze's scarf and wrapping it around Raze's nose." Better?" Bytes asked, hopping off. Raze breathed in."Yeah. Still smells, but it's not as bad" Bytes nodded."Good.Now let's get moving!" Bytes quickly continued on to the next of the swamp, with Raze and Ivysaur quickly following behind him. Floor 3The three adventurers entered a large clearing in the swamp. Raze looked about, suspicious of the area. "Guys," He said, "I think this is some kind of..." Before he could finish, however, a group of Nidorans, both male and female, jumped out and rushed the trio. "Trap?" Bytes asked, Raze nodding at the response. "Alright then," Bytes said,getting into a fighting position, "Finally! Some Excitement!" Ivysaur ran in front of Bytes. "You can't fight them physically! Their spikes can poison you! We got to fight with long range techniques" She said, causing Bytes to sigh. "Fine, but not being allowed to go all out is boring." Bytes said, spinning his arms around to charge up electricity. While he did this, Raze fired off a few Ice Beams at some of the charging nidorans. "You know Ice Beam?" Ivysaur asked him. Raze chuckled."I learned how to use that so I wasn't completely helpless against grass types" He said proudly. However, with his attention divided, a nidoran slammed into Raze's side. Despite this, the nidoran's attack did little. Raze just looked at the male nidoran and simply said "Move." Raze created several rings of stones around himself. The Nidoran began to ran away. Raze grinned as he fired off several Rock Blasts at the nidoran, quickly knocking it out. "TIME TO DO THIS!" Bytes yelled out, getting the attention of all the pokemon nearby. Bytes had amassed a large amount of electricity, unleashing a massive Shock Wave on all the nidorans, causing them all to faint. "Amazing" Ivysaur said, impressed by the power Bytes had shown. "Hardly a challenge," Bytes responded, swinging one of his arms around,"Let's go.We got your friend to find" Bytes took the lead as the three continued even further in the swamp. Floor 4The group continued on into the swamp. After the battle with the nidoran, they had become slightly exhausted. Raze kept an eye out, trying to see if anymore nidorans or possibly anything worse was going to ambush them. Bytes had shrugged off Raze's paranoia but, unbeknown to him, some Grimer had taken interest in the group and was watching them. "I feel like something's out there" Raze said. Bytes sighed. "Relax. If anything comes out,we can handle it easily." Bytes tried to reassure, as they entered the next area. Floor 5As the group walked into the next clearing, Raze instantly tensed up. He began to sniff the air. "Ugh! Something stinks!" He said, backing off a bit. Ivysaur sniffed the air as well. "Yeah. It's worse than usual!"She said, shaking her head. Suddenly, the grimer who had been spying on them earlier jumped out of the bushes. "Looks like they want a fight!" Bytes said, charging his fists with electricity. He rushed at the lead grimer, sending a Thunder Punch straight to it's face. Bytes grinned for a second as the grimer was sent flying. The other grimer's instantly pounced, trying to take the Elekid down. Raze and Ivysaur started firing of Rock Blasts and Razor Leafs as Bytes dodged the Grimer's various attacks. At opportune times, he'd fire off a few Thunder Punches. Soon, all but one Grimer was down. The Grimer instantly fled deeper into the swamp. Bytes started to give chase, shouting out "Coward! Get back here!" But was stopped by Raze. "We have to keep going.Forget about him" Raze said. Bytes growled but begrudgingly agreed, the three heading deeper in the other way. Floor 6"I can't believe we let that grimer escape" Bytes griped. Raze just sighed. "Now who's complaining? Let it go. " He said. Bytes quickly saw where we was coming from and decided to be quiet. Besides, if that grimer tried anything later, Bytes knew he could take anything that it could throw at him, even reinforcements. As they continued through the swamp, sounds began to come from all around. "Looks like the swamp is getting more active" Ivysaur said. "We better keep our guard up" Raze nodded, having sensed the activity too. Bytes was the only one who hadn't sensed it, instead focused on his desire to fight. "Who cares if they're more active? We can still beat them easily!" Bytes said, his over-confidence shown to all. His two teammates sighed as the small band continued deeper in the swamp. Floor 7"Okay...The smell's beginning to get to me again" Raze said, groaning. Ivysur walked beside him. "Here."She said, letting off a Sweet Scent. Raze quickly calmed down as the scent hit his nostrils. "Thanks."Raze said, calming down. As he continued to breathe in the scent, a few Woopers and Mudkips had caught the scent as well, and was closing in the group. Bytes was the first to notice them." Guys,"He said, pounding his fists together. "It's battle time!" Raze and Ivysaur looked u pand saw the group coming at them. "The scent must have attracted them!"Raze said, stating the obvious." Let's just fight!" Bytes shouted, spinning his arms and firing off a thunderbolt on a wooper. He was surprised to see it had no effect. He slapt his face. "Duh.... Part ground type!" He said, using Brick Break on a few of the group instead. Raze attempted to stomp a mudkip, but gut hit with a watergun instead. As he stumbled back from the super effective hit, Ivysaur ran up and fired off some Razor Leaves, taking out a good portion of the group. "Wow.Very nice" Bytes and Raze said in unison, impressed by her attacks. After a few more rounds, Ivysaur protecting Raze while Bytes fought on the front lines. As the remnants of the enemy group scattered away, Raze quickly thanks Ivysaur for protecting him. Bytes looked at the two and groaned. "Let's get going"Bytes said. Raze looked confused. "What about the others from that group?" Raze said, confused about Bytes not wanting to continue the fight. Bytes just sighed and said "If we stay like this much longer, I'm gonna be sick.Let's go." Bytes went ahead as Raze and Ivysaur walked with each other. Floor 8As the group continued in the swamp, Raze and Ivysaur stuck by each other. Bytes, on the other hand, was already fed up with how close the two of them had gotten. Due to the two's conversation, Bytes was the only one paying any attention when a few gulpin attacked. After a quick bout, Bytes had taken them down. He turned to the two he was adventuring with, annoyed. "Would you two please pay attention?!" He shouted, snapping the two out of their little daze. "S-Sorry Bytes" Raze apoligized,"I guess it's nice to talk to someone new who I have so much in common with" Ivysaur agreed with Raze. Bytes nodded. "I know what you mean, but you guys can talk all you want when this is over" He said, pointing to the next area,"Let's go. I see a large clearing ahead. We can rest up there" The other two nodded and the trio headed onto the next area. Floor 9The group found a dry spot in the clearing and sat down, deciding to rest. Even Bytes had to admit he was getting a bit tired. The heaviness of the swamp air tired them out easily, as did the mud and the pokemon that resided in the swamp. Despite this, Bytes and Raze were happy they chose this mission, each with their own reason. As Bytes thought about this, a Croagunk and Zangoose came out. "Get out of our territory!" the zangoose demanded. Bytes quickly got to his feet." We're not leaving!" Bytes said. The croagunk got in front of Zangoose. "I want to fight him" He said. Bytes grinned at the croagunk. "Challenge accepted!" Bytes said, preparing his Thunder Punch. Zangoose turned his attention to Raze and Ivysaur. "Looks like your mind!" He said, charging at Ivysaur with his claws at the ready. Raze got in front of her and threw the zangoose away using Horn Attack. Zangoose landed on his feet and charged again. Raze lifted off the ground, stomping on Zangoose as it got near. "Nice one!" Ivysaur said, congratulating Raze. Meanwhile, Bytes and the Croagunk were trading punches. "Try this" Said the croagunk, charging up a Poison Jab. "I'll oblige!" Bytes responded, charging up another Thunder Punch. The two punches collided, sending the two pokemon flying. Bytes got to his feet and looked at the Croagunk. "Your good"He said, grabbing his knocked out friend. "We'll be back! Then we'll have a real match!" He said, running off while carrying the zangoose.Bytes shouted back "AND I'LL BE WAITING!" Raze sighed. "Don't do anything we'll regret" Bytes just laughed."Come on.Let's get going." Bytes said, heading forward. Ivysaur sighed. "That was hardly a break"She said,following. Floor 10As the group continued on their journey, they noticed that few wild pokemon were paying attention to them. Raze deduced that their battle with the croagunk and zangoose must have scared off some of the weaker pokemon. Bytes let out a deep sigh. "Such cowards.Not fighting because of the strength of their opponents! You should always fight, even if the opponent is stronger than you! It just means you got to try harder than them!" Bytes announced, proudly. Raze looked at his ally, slightly annoyed. "Not everyone can have an indomitable will like yours"He said. Bytes just shrugged him off and continued on his way. Raze just wished he's be a little more courteous and not force him and Ivysaur to attempt to catch up with him. Floor 11"So,why would Mareep come here?" Raze asked Ivysaur. Ivysaur looked at the sky and sighed. "She's always wanted to be an adventurer, so she thought that maybe if she explored the swamp, they'd let her make a team."Bytes gave an annoyed look. "Seriously?Why didn't she just sign up for a team?! Oh well.Maybe she'll learn something from it" Bytes said, crossing his arms. "Like what?" Raze replied. Bytes just shrugged. "As if I would know." This caused Raze to give his own annoyed sigh.Bytes looked around and still didn't see any other pokemon." Are they really scared of us because of the battle with the Croagunk and Zangoose?" Bytes said, his disappointment obvious. "The ones deeper in probably won't be the same way" Raze said, continuing towards the next clearing, Bytes and Ivysaur close behind. Floor 12"Well,we should be getting close to Mareep's location," Raze said, having been keeping track the whole time," About 6 more floors,then we're done" He said. Bytes groaned, having found this trip a little less than desirable."This has been boring.I expected more challenge from these pokemon" Bytes said, crossing his arms. As if on cue, 2 Koffing and a Gulpin came out. "Maybe you got your wish," Ivysaur said, obviously somewhat annoyed with Bytes attitude. Bytes just grinned." Oh well. Gotta do with what I can!" He said,charging in, fists sparking. He jumped and spiked the Koffings into the ground as if they were volleyballs. Afterward, he attempted to punch the Gulpin, but found it's squishy body impossible to do any damage to."What the?!" Bytes said,surprised. "Hit it with a Thunderbolt!" Raze shouted to his leader. Bytes nodded and began to spin his arms around. As he charged up for a Thunderbolt, the Gulpin let out a Yawn. In response, Bytes let out a yawn himself, but managed to fire off the Thunderbolt, with struck the Gulpin hard. After the electric attack stopped, both Bytes and the Gulpin fell, Bytes asleep and the Gulpin knocked out. Raze walked over and sighed. " So much for all that energy," He said, lifting Bytes up with his nose and carrying him as the group headed on. Floor 13"So,How long have you two known each other?" Ivysaur asked Raze, who was still carrying the sleeping Bytes. "We met right before I was gonna make an exploration team. Bytes bumped into me and after an argument, he attacked me. In the end, he managed to beat me and, for whatever reason, offered me to join him in his own team." Raze recollected. "What an odd way to meet" Ivysaur replied. "Yeah, but Bytes is a great fighter, despite his small size." Raze said, looking at his leader. "He actually looks like a baby pokemon when he sleeps" Ivysaur said,giggling a bit. "Just don't let him hear that" Raze said, laughing along with her. The two continued walking, unaware of the changing environment. Grimers were still watching them and conversing with each other. Floor 15The group continued through the swamp, the damp smell of the swamp getting stronger as they headed deeper. "So why exactly did Mareep need to come here?" Raze asked Ivysaur. She just sighed."Some kind of berry that grows deep in the swamp. It's rare, so the town store doesn't have them." "I see.But why didn't she request an Exploration Team to get one?" Raze replied. "She didn't have enough money."Ivysaur said. Raze nodded."I can imagine that" Raze replied. Bytes moved a bit, but remained asleep through the entire conversation. @Cupcake
Back at the guild the Plusle very quickly grabbed onto and the two broke down into rather loud sobbing. After finally calming them down the two left, leaving the team with their promised rewards: a magnet and a spark TM.
Two Pokemon came looking to join the team, a Nidoran and a Zigzagoon.
((I apologize for the lazy grading. Cysic isn't feeling well so I did it for him, but I'm in the middle of writing a mission myself.))
