So with the holidays and Christmas coming up (or whatever you celebrate) its noticeable that gaia is coming out with new Christmas items as well.

anyone dressing up their avatar for it? I just made mine, and I really like it. Perfect mix of green and red with a little white purity to add to it.

Also, what does Christmas means to you. Not to bring religion into it, but that is my reason for celebrating Christmas, the birth of my christ. That's as far as I'll go into that, as I do not wish to offend anyone, but that is my true reason for celebrating it.

Yes, I have the same reason as you. Christmas is too commercialized these days, and Christmas shopping and preparation brings so much stress.
Don't get me wrong, I love the presents and family and food, but it seems to drive my mom and dad (especially my mother) crazy trying to get everything done.

I completely agree, what christmas use to be isn't that anymore. Instead of being home with family and friends and enjoying the celebration of them as well as the birth of christ (for some) it is now 'I MUST HAVE THIS I MUST HAVE THAT'.

Don't get me wrong, I love gifts, as it represents the gifts that the lord recieved, but that's not the purpose of christmas. Its to much of a wanting give me holiday instead of what it truly is meant for.

No not yet but I'm waiting till there's a shop update. If not then I'll probably choose something Christmasy.

Not... really planning on doing much of anything for Christmas. It's too commercialized, honestly. Even the concept of Christmas trees and Santa Claus and decorations are commercialized. The only thing that really makes sense for Christmas is the Nativity.

I mean, I can understand it's important to celebrate the birth of Christ and spend time with family and all, but... you don't have to go to such extremes to celebrate Christ's birth. And frankly, I'm better off without most of my family stare

And I know there's the whole "goodwill towards men" thing, but that shouldn't just happen one day or one month out of the year. It should be every day. You should give money every day. Give food to needy people every chance you get. Or at least try to, y'know? Don't just wait till Christmas when it's "expected" of you.

*sighs* I'm sorry if this is offensive to anyone, it's just how I feel.

Very true, Tyndall, I do believe that good will should be done everyday. I completely agree with you there.

I don't go into extremes of celebrating myself, but I do do the simple things such as the christmas tree, the gifts, the candles, all that stuff. Each one has a special reason for it, but what I do is not just celebrate it now, I remember it all year.
