I just recently took the time to listen to this album,
and it's a great album.
For those of you who haven't heard it,
it's basically Jim's poems but,
having the band playing a backtrack to them.
Some are backtracks and, some are just the poem itself.
For those who've heard it I'd like to know your feelings on it : )

Ghost Song is fine and probably the only one song I listened to from the An American Prayer album. I didn't happen to come across An American Prayer, probably due to the poor reviews it received.

I don't know what is all on there, but I have listened to the Ghost Song since Johnny mentioned it is on there.

I think I saw "An American Prayer" around the net somewhere. It sounds familiar, but I don't think I ever listened.

Why would it have poor reviews?

With the birth of the artist there comes the inevitable afterbirth, the critic. Always ready to piss on whatever you have created.

Ah, I see. Never thought of that.
As far as music goes, i'd give it a poor review.
But in the context of poetry it's well done,
you get to see another side of jim i guess you could say.

I'd say because jim's "poetry" is/was mostly drunken chibberish (I mean honestly man"), plus the "background music" isn't new. Pieces of peace frog are used for it, and i think i reconized parts of "queen of the highway" as well. Hadn't checked that yet though but i'm pretty sure.
