for jazz band, i wanna try tha saxaphone, but my mom said i can, as long as she doesn't have to buy another instrument. are saxaphones bought or school owned? plz help! i would really appriciate it!

schools will usually have rental tenor saxes and bari saxes...none of the schools i've gone to have had rental altos though.

alicelovesjasper4ever ugh. im never going to play tha sax. darn wow...maybe you'd be better off NOT being in jazz band anyway...you know virtually nothing about even how the instrumentation is.

Uh, I'm pretty sure that most jazz bands need to have tenor and bari parts...

..yeah...tenors seem to be more "important" to the band...in the sax section..you usually want to blend to the tenor..and the tenor usually has way more solos than alto razz but i love alto anyway smile and bari is important as well..in my opinion..alto is the least important of the saxes for a jazz band..even though jazz bands tend to have more altos than any of the other saxes.

toco clarinet ..yeah...tenors seem to be more "important" to the band...in the sax section..you usually want to blend to the tenor..and the tenor usually has way more solos than alto razz but i love alto anyway smile and bari is important as well..in my opinion..alto is the least important of the saxes for a jazz band..even though jazz bands tend to have more altos than any of the other saxes. See that's what I thought too. I always thought the lowest voice in the group was the most important. Generally you guide...everything off of the lowest voice within a section, whether it's a tenor or bari sax or a 2nd or 3rd part.

Uh, I'm pretty sure that most jazz bands need to have tenor and bari parts...
i'll ask, but im in 7th grade so i don't know if that effects the odds or not. like i said, i'll ask
