Okay, so our sports coaches like HATE band. They give all the kids in band and sports crap about. One time, one of the marching band's buses bus borke down. And when the football players bus went by and saw us the coach said "No way im helping some ******** band kids." Is it like that at any of your schools?

Our football coach was in band, so he can't really hate itXD At homecoming we bring out his special snaredrum, and he plays along to the fightsong. he joins the drumline at homecoming pep rallies too. It is really funny because he is always asking my bd on those days "did you bring my drum?" I think him asking annoys my bd though, because he is always sighing a yes.
As for the actual players, yes, they hate us. there are a select few people who understand how hard abnd is, but most of the school and sports teams do not.

Our football coach is awesome. He really likes the band. He's really nice to the band kids (we're not the most physically fit kids of course, hehehe.) His wife was in band, his daughter is in band, and I think he might have been.
@Lennon: Yeah, I don't know if the football team knows... band is a dating service. We have rooms to have sex in during school. Seriously. They should understand that before they say that.

Oh! I forgot to sya something! We had to start marking the practice fields for rehearsals at one point. We would come out the same time the football players were coming out, and they would refuse to give up the practice field that we had reserved. So finally, my BD wrote "GEMB" in the middle in bright orangeXD (GEMB is a shortened version of our band name, Golden Eagle Marching Band) And it worked. Unfortunately we couldn't mark the stadium, and now we have to wait for the boys soccer to finish, usually about half an hour to an hour after our rehearsal "begins"

If it helps, it's not like that at all in college (well, not here at least, but I assume it's the same everywhere). Some players ignore us, some cheer for us and dance with us, but there's no hostility. And the coach came to one of our rehearsals once and gave us a signed football.
Yeah, join college band...people actually like you. xD

One of our football coaches is nice to everyone except his football kids. xD
His son is in drama so I don't really know how he would act as a band parent. I'm glad he's not a band parent, that'd be scary...

Our faculty is for the most part awesome about supporting us, it's the rednecks in the school that we have to deal with.

Nope, we don't have that. Most of the popular kids in out school are or were in band but quit because of our jerky teacher last year. Some of our teachers hate us because we always leave during classes for sectionals though. But whatever. We hate them too.

qkitteh there isn't really much animosity between everyone and band...at least that i can see. our band has its own practice field biggrin we do too, it's not a full sized field but it's big enough to set a variety of drill. We're lucky that our principals (coaches) let us go on the football field on thursdays and fridays too.

At one of the football games this last season we were warming up for the half time show about 5 minutes prior. the football coach came and yelled at our band instructor, they got in a brief verbal fight which shortly subsided as we marched on the field.
Later after the show we played non stop in the bleachers with the sole intent on pissing the coach off.

Our cheerleaders pretend to love us, but they hate us. they are always yeeling at us for playing while they are cheering. Why can't we have music and cheers? Oh right, because our army of cheerleaders sounds like only 5. And then they are always cheering while we are playing, or while we are cheering. Yeah, their mouths move but you can only hear us. I is pretty sad when the band makes better cheerleaders then the cheeerleaders. They are just jealous(And think that cheerleading is harder then band.)
