Hell no, it did not just surpass Dark Knight.
That movie actually had plot, character development (not to mention actual characters in the first place), and scenes that could actually evoke emotions out of people. Dark Knight was a thousand times better than New Moon, how the hell did just a bunch of tweens let it rake in more than TDK?

What???? A ton of girls stayed up until 12 am for the first showing and everyone came to school super tired. A couple people fell asleep but the older girls drank coffee. THATS WHAT YOU GET FOR STAYING UP ON A SCHOOL NIGHT! Anyway there are WAY better movies than new moon that got way less money. D:
(( I go to a all girls school in case you were wondering about the boys))

I'm not even a fan of 'Dark Knight'/'BatMan' but I'd still rather watch that movie 1,000,000,000,000 times than watch New Moon ONCE. (and I still have seen neither movie)

Demoness Crystallia You know what they say; there's more stupid people in the world than intelligent people. It's easier being stupid. Most people pick the easy way.

I have a group of my friends who contributed to that.... When they came back I just shook my head and walked away.... I counted 57 Twitard shirts at school on the day it came out... I came THIS close to slapping one... Because of what her shirt said... You guys don't even want to know..... stare

Actually come to think of it, PLENTY of Antis went to see it too.
As for that shirt, in other words...
"I have the IQ of a walnut, please arrest me."
I learned in Poly Sci, that shirts which are sexually suggestive like that, are actually ILLEGAL.

Gakuko Kamui Shanghai Disco
Oh come on now. I cannot believe this. And just the other day, I was talking with a friend who was going to see it just to make fun of it. She wasn't able to go, as all tickets for the entire weekend were sold out.
I'm thinking of wearing an anti-Twilight shirt to school Monday. But seeing as how my friend got in trouble for wearing a bandanna around her neck, I'm not sure if I'd be able to wear the shirt at school.

Demoness Crystallia You know what they say; there's more stupid people in the world than intelligent people. It's because most of them believe that stupidity is better than intelligence. Frankly, I so want to punch them silly.

I'm so pissed about all the fandom. Jesus, Rotten Tomatoes gave that movie 30-some %, you know. It was an epic fail. The fanbase is so s**t-crazy about it they're destroying everything good in society.
I think the fans got a LOT quieter since I lashed out at them. There were only one or two girls at my school with a Twilight shirt. They were probably too intimidated by me, that's what I think.

Mission Success, Jerba.
I think I started an uproar a bit as well. Ever since I did some Anti-Twilight bathroom writing, 3 or 4 people have spoken out against it on the walls, agreeing with me.
Wearing my "Twilight Sucks" shirt on Tuesday.
