It looked pretty cool and wow, that guy did resemble Jim Morrison a bit (at least from what I saw he resembled him). I haven't seen the movie. Is it something that is a totally must see? I mostly got into The Doors because I steal my parents cd's to listen to some new artists from time to time. I saw a cd in the car that said "The Doors" on it. I know my parents like them. My Dad really likes "Riders on the Storm" xd I took the cd inside, put it in the computer, and started listening to it. Once I did, I'm like, "Wow...these songs are great!"

Its good, and Val Kilmer dose play Jim very well, though like i said the movie makes him come off as a bit to much like an idiot than what some would have liked. I guess Ray Manzarek was upset at the portrayal of Jim in the movie.

I was with my friends at the mall and in FYE, but coincidence, I came across that movie and just looked at it. Didn't know it was rated R, but considering that it is about rock stars (if that's what you wish to call them) then it doesn't really surprise me. If I see it, I'm going to find it somewhere online. I think YouTube has it. I doubt I'd rent it on Netflix since Mom see's what I get and if it's bad, she'll send it right back. They don't like rated R movies being played in their house at all. I can understand that so I'll just watch it online xd they never have to know surprised

Since I can only find it on Megavideo, it only lets me watch so much at a time. I'm at the one part where they are about to perform and are back in the makeup and hair area and they were telling Jim he couldn't say the line, "Girl, we couldn't get much higher." Then it just stopped neutral why does it stop when you really wanna watch and see what happens next? I will have to watch it later for sure. I don't wanna have to download it or anything so I will just watch it there. So far all I have to say is wow...acid and alcohol to the max. Jim is insane neutral especially at their gig at the Whiskey a Go-Go.

I haven't watched the movie and I don't want to. I want to remember Jim as I see him not as a movie tells me to.

Fiddle Playing Johnny I haven't watched the movie and I don't want to. I want to remember Jim as I see him not as a movie tells me to. Makes sense. I just got curious and wanted to see what people here were talking about. I won't believe what all the movie tells me though since it isn't really Jim and I don't know what about it is completely true and completely false at times.

But i do agree with Ray Manzarek, the role that was written for Jim was him more of an idiot than he was.

But i do agree with Ray Manzarek, the role that was written for Jim was him more of an idiot than he was. That was a bit of my concern about Jim being that crazy. I was thinking, "I don't think he was that much of an idiot." Movies can usually portray false facts (especially when based on a true story). I think the other band members should've had a good say in it like, "Hey, Jim wasn't this much of an idiot..." I just watched some more of it today, but now the megavideo time limit has stopped me once again. I should be able to view the remainder of it once it lets me watch more in 54 minutes or so (dumb megavideo). So far, the movie is interesting. Yeah, Jim has seemed like quite an idiot in the movie. It really does have a lot of sex, alcohol, and drug content like you all said. I'm not sure if I even really like the movie or not though. I really want to finish it though.

Usually Hollywood love to exaggerate stuff in movies and they tend to think it makes things "better". Not sure why they couldn't just put it exactly as he was. I just try to keep in my mind that Jim wasn't as accurate as they portrayed him to be in the movie. Of course Jim was better in real life because when it's real life he was just...Jim.

I loved it, great selection of tunes by them for sure. But Ray was saying in an interview he said Oliver Stone (director) didn't capture the whole "psychedelic" feel of the doors "LSD opens the doors of perception, and once you step through, you never want to go back, because you realize you've been in a closed state of mind." Hence where their name came from I'm presuming? : )
