An OC I used way back when I was actually RPing was called Fulgar, which is a reference to the Hellraiser comics, a cenobite who wielded fire.

It was a good character, it got to the point, though that he became unintentionally whiny for a while. He was a firbender, 21, 6' 7", and wore a long coat. I was working on a storyline where a evil twin/doppleganger named Ira (see if you can get the reference), kinda blooped off him. I can't hardly even remember.

The RP relied on the progression of my character and 3 other people. 2 of which left the RP. But I did introduce my friend (from Texas) to her (now) husband (from Virginia, if I remember right) in that RP.

My main OC (of 4 years)is Luna Storm.She was raised in a dictatorship like clan in a veiled world were only her species could get through. She did have some earthen qualities such as being able to shift the earth to her whim.Her original name was Luna D'Celeste Inukami,but then she met and married Philip Storm,after some time(my boyfriend).
Luna was probably the most demented first OC I could have created because she had a lot of problems,and would lash out randomly with personalities that are both childlike and devilish(No, she doesn't have multiple personalities,it's just how she is )
She's not based on anyone

Ling-Mei is one of the characters I use in a fanfic that starts out 1,000 years after Aang's adventures, and after a few more bending techniques were invented. She's a timebender, and timebending is illegal, but she's the first Timebending avatar. She has to go back in time to learn bending because bending is not what it once was, and they want her to be the best avatar. etc. etc.

It's been getting some good reviews.

Mayan is my roleplaying character, but I will probably wind up using her in a fic as well. I use her name for different characters. One airbending, another a rogue firebender, but I haven't really been able to really use her yet :C
