Fun projects are fun!
So I'm in crime prevention techniques this semester and our thing is basically to do a site assessment of wherever we want, and present it to the class literally however we want. Endless possibilitiesss!!
I'm doing a park nearby and I scouted the area with my camera taking weird pictures of security things and vandalism quite possibly looking really creepy but I tried really hard not to get any people shots! I don't know what to do for it! Powerpoint is sweet...but I can also do scrapbook-esque document, posterboards...seriously, whatever visual aid we want! So much freedom...never had it before at SFU. =P Hella lame university of no-fun. I'm doing the scrapbook of photos of the site with information....then tempted to do a posterboard map of the site and powerpoint recommendations for making the site more crime-free, etc. ....But then I've got like 2 weeks to do it? OH WELL IT'S SO MUCH FUN AND I GOT THE TIMEEEE.
Anyways, share your fun project stories!

Project: Perform a group skit where you solve a problem in the non-direct way.
My idea:
"Oh s**t! We didn't do this project yet! You! We have three minutes! That means you have one minute to come up with our project idea!"
"blah blah blah too hard"
*freak out, rip random papers apart, throw things, curse and threaten*
"We can use your arguing as our project!"
"Yeah. Great idea. Everything's going to be alll right."
(The group didn't like that so instead we're doing a hockey player who wants to get traded to LA to be the star of Mighty Ducks 5. We indirectly solve this by not trading him; but giving him three supermodel wives, a keychain with his name on it, $5, etc.)

My friend is taking photography classes, and one of the first things she had to do was called creeping. She'd walk around public with a huge camera and take pictures of the reactions of people who weren't expecting her to take a creepy picture of them.

Haha, they actually have to do that. xd I saw a guy last week at the school bus loop taking pictures of the buses and s**t, then a driver was starting to leave, noticed the dude taking pictures. He literally stopped as he was turning to b***h the camera guy out. I couldn't hear his dialogue, but the camera man was trying to apologize and say he couldn't actually see him through the bus, etc, etc. The bus driver was soooo not amused. He had a lot of hand gestures going on. xd

Another old skool fav project! My friend Vijay and I did country presentations in grade 6, and we both did places that we recently went to - hers was India, and mine was Bermuda. I just remember the sweet posters we made for them both, and the cool things we taught each other about the different places. smile
The India poster was made into a large flag then we pasted on typed out information. The Bermuda one was made into the shape of the cool concrete houses they have there - my mom definitely helped out with that for me, haha. Then we got to talk about culture and cool things. I love making poster boards. heart
Decided to go with a poster board and the scrapbook for my presentation! Powerpoint is so...I suck at that s**t even though our room comes equipped to do it, I just don't feel like putting together that too. But I'll make a poster board with the map with a sweet key including attracters/generaters of crime, pathways, nodes, edges, etc. Yessss, time to get some good markers!

I had a bunch of drunk Tourists take a picture of me when I was sleeping on a park bench in Frankfurt, Germany. I wasn't actually asleep yet, so I heard them coming up and everything, then just as they were about to snap the picture, I sat up quick and flashed them a thumbs up. They freaked out and ran away, but I'm sure their picture will turn out awesome.

K so...fail project is fail, lol. I underestimated how freaking LONG it would take to put together a scrapbook up to par with my crafting standards, so I gave up and just did a powerpoint. :B It was still spiffy though, just...I wasted time on the other thing. @__@
