This small village was home to Ranmaru. Ranmaru was a sick, young bloodline orphan who found refuge in a small house overlooking the village. When Raiga and other Mist Hunter-Nins came to the village looking for a spy, they wiped out many of the village citizens. Ranmaru was spared from Raiga's crazed slaughter however.

Yamatano walked along, amking light conversation with the hunter nin clone. Light as in, no conversation at all: The hunter-nins rarely spoke, and just exuded an aura of "keep talking any your gonna have a knife in your throat." As the two walked along, a small abandoned village caught Yamatano's eye. Walking towards it, Yamatano could feel the very air around here: dead, like the rest of the town. No one was here, and there were no traces of anyone ever having lived here, save for a few discolored spots on some of the house sides that looked like......blood? Yamatano decided to check a few houses, for all he knew this could be an enemy fortress disguised to near perfection. (Exit to small village hut)

Kai arrived on the scene, the hunter-nin's clone traveling silently beside him. Kai constantly glanced over his shoulder at the shadowy man, his very presence unnerving. Kai didn't know much about the hunter-nins, but he did know that of the few he had met, they all seemed to scream, "Do not F**k with me...", well maybe not scream, but the point was clear.
As Kai arrived on the edge of a nearby village he stopped, examining the area in front of him. The village was quiet, and as he listened more closely he realized that even the animals of the forest had fallen silent. Moving forward cautiously, Kai put gripped the hilts of his blades, readying himself for any trouble. The hunter-nin's clone walked slowly behind him, its eyes scanning the area with the practiced eye of an experienced shinobi.
As Kai continued through the village gates he stopped, his eyes growing wide. Falling to his knees, Kai put a hand to his mouth to try and keep himself retching. Lifting his head once more, Kai's whole body began to shake with emotion at the sight before him. Bodies littered the street, villagers with their throats slit, blood pooling around their cold corpses; bodies pinned to the sides of houses, spears and swords pierced through their bodies, left to die a slow death."Katon: Housenka no Jutsu!", a voice cried out from the side. Kai glanced to the side just in time to see a barrage of small fireballs hurtling towards him. There was no time to move, no time escape the attack; lifting his hands up in an attempt to shield himself from the deadly assault, Kai closed his eyes and awaited his fate. In a flash of movement the hunter-nin clone stepped in front of him, taking the full brunt of the attack and protecting Kai from harm, but in so doing the clone was dispersed, Kai would not be saved again.
Opening his eyes as he heard the hiss of fire hitting water, Kai realized that he had been saved, pushing himself off the ground, Kai quickly ran behind the cover of a nearby house, narrowly avoiding several more fireballs. Kai's breathing quickened, his heart racing as fear induced adrenaline began to pump through his veins. Looking around the corner, Kai caught a glimpse of the one that had attacked him. It was a large man, an evil grin playing on his face as he moved forward slowly, a large axe in hand.
Looking forward once more, Kai eyes widened as he saw the blade of a sword hurtling towards his head. Falling quickly to the ground, Kai barely managed to avoid the blade, but he had also left himself open, a mistake made apparent when he felt the hard boot of his assailant drive into his side, sending him rolling across the ground several feet, driving the air from his lungs forcefully. Gasping for breath, Kai tried desperately to refill his lungs with oxygen, but he managed to keep his wits enough to rise to his feet so that he could have some small chance to defend himself.
His vision blurry, Kai could barely make out the second assailant as he yanked his sword free from the wood siding of the house he had slammed the blade into. Glancing to his side, Kai could see the first attacker propping his axe up on his shoulder, walking forward slowly with a self-assured confidence. As his eyes began to come back into focus and his lungs stopped burning from a lack of oxygen, Kai drew his blades, glancing between his two assailants, his eyes still wide with panic.
The first attacker then chuckled softly to himself as he pointed behind Kai. Looking at the man confusedly, Kai's eyes then grew wide once more as he spun around just in time to see the foot of yet a third assailant come sailing towards his chest. Kai flew to the side, losing grip of his swords as sailed through the air, his body screaming in protest at the abuse it was taking. Skipping across the ground, Kai finally came to a stop with a thud as he slammed into the side of a house, air being expelled forcefully from his lungs once more.
The second attacker then rushed forward bellowing wildly as he reveled in the chance to land the killing blow that he had missed earlier. Kai scrambled to rise to his feet, but he just couldn't manage to regain his footing, his equilibrium having been thrown off balance when he hit the wall. As the man drew nearer, his blade held high as he readied himself to strike, Kai mind was clouded by an uncontrollable fear as thoughts of his eminent demise began to rush through his head. Time seemed to slow as the man that would be Kai's death continued forward, his weapon held aloft, an evil grin spread across his face. This can't be it..., Kai thought to himself as he watched in disbelief as imminent death came rushing towards him, bellowing at the top of its lungs, its axe held aloft, this can't be how it ends. I've only just begun to walk my path, it can end like this, it can't end this soon, not hear, not now. "NOT YET!", Kai cried out in defiance.
Da-dum... a noise like the beat of the drum sounded all around Kai, as time seemed to come to a complete halt. Da-dum... the beating sounded again as the world began to grow black, everything seeming to fade away. Da-dum... the sounded the beat once more as a voice called out from all sides, its tone calm and knowing, "this need not be the end, child..." Da-dum... "I can help you..." Da-dum... "All you have to do is ask it..." Da-dum... "Release my power, and I can save your life..." Da-dum... the drumming resounded, louder now, a note of finality about it. Then a great eye opened in front of Kai, a pool of shifting color, amorphous and random. "RELEASE ME!", the voice cried out as the eye opened all the wider, before disappearing entirely, returning back to reality, back to the man that was rushing forward to end his life.
Kai could feel a power rising within him, as his eyes began to change, becoming two amorphous pools of constantly shifting color. Kai's mouth almost seemed to move of its own volition as a whisper began escape his lips, "Hou-""I live to fulfill the dreams of those that came before me" (Exploding Smoke Grenade = 6 Makibishi = 30 Shuriken = 10 Light Bombs = 4 Exploding Tags = 12 Steel Wire = 100 ft. "Kuchiyose no Jutsu!" A great black war wolf, clad in black armor, shot through the mist into the attacker's chest, moving as fast as a sound wave. Jaws at the man's throat, the wolf pulled his head back, thearing out the man's throat, esophagu hanging in the wolf's mouth. The other two whipped their heads about frantically, searching for the would be assassain. Big mistake, for suddenly, a figure in leather armor, a black tunic and cloak, and tall black boots descended from the sky near the third assailant. His long silver hair gleamed nearly as brilliantly as his marvelous Katana....... at least, the half that was not stuck inside the man's chest. The mysterious saviour ripped out his blade as easily as he had put it in, turning to face the first assailant. This one, however, was more competent. The man brought his hand to his mouth as he cried "Katon: Housenka!" Several dozens of fireballs attacked the saviour at once, leaving nearly no openings. But somehow, he was able to dodge them all, almost as if he was......dancing? Somehow the Saviour had managed to come face to face with the assailant as his fireballs ran out. "You should have run." The saviour said. The assailant, reaching for his axe, was not even aware of the blade which had pierced his heart until he bled to death, sliding down to the hilt. As the mysterious saviour got the man off of his blade and called his wolf, he walked over to the boy, sitting there like he had just watched The Ring and the telophone rang right afterwards. "So, this is Houkou.........Your children will be pleased to see you." The man thought as he approached the boy. "Come now, boy, it's safe. No one shall harm you."

Kai's word stuck in his throat as the great wolf rushed forward, barreling into the would be killer like a bolt of lightning. Kai blinked in surprise, his eyes beginning to shift back to their regular stark white as the imminent danger seemed to pass. And within moments of the wolf's arrival, a blur of motion appeared, and the other assailants were taken down. It all happened in mere seconds, Kai's saviour moved with such speed the men hardly even had time to react before they were killed. Kai could only stare wide eyed at the amazing feat. Death had seemed so close, so certain, and then in an instant he had been saved.
As the man approached and spoke to him, but Kai barely heard him, so intense was his relief. He had been saved, and something about this man was reassuring to Kai, he felt that he could trust him. Looking to the side, Kai saw the large wolf staring at him, an unexpected intelligence behind its large topaz colored eyes. As Kai stared into its eyes and it stared back into his, the wolf began to move forward, its eyes locked on Kai's, moving forward until Kai could feel its hot breath on his face.
For a long moment the both of them stared into each other's eyes, the wolf almost seeming to see past Kai and into the very depths of his soul. After a long moment Kai smiled at the mighty beast and whispered, "thank you for the help, you really saved the day." Then the wolf's lips pulled back, revealing a toothy grin, a raspy noise escaping from its mouth, a noise Kai quickly recognized as a chuckle.
Looking back to the man that had approached, Kai smiled before saying, "And thank you sir, without you I would ha..., but before Kai could finish his sentence he had lost consciousness, the stress of his ordeal, and the punishment inflicted on his body finally taking its toll."I live to fulfill the dreams of those that came before me" (Exploding Smoke Grenade = 6 Makibishi = 30 Shuriken = 10 Light Bombs = 4 Exploding Tags = 12 Steel Wire = 100 ft. The Saviour chuckled as Rahu and the boy were locked in their staring contest. As the boy turned back to him he began to speak, then pass out. "Hmmm, it seems this boy is not used to the powers of Houkou." The man said to himself as he slung the boy over his shoulder. "Rahu, lets go, you shall guide this boy. We will see if he is worthy of meeting the children of Houkou." He said as he began to walk into the wilds of Water Country. The wolf uttered a low guttural growl, which only the saviour understood meant "Yes...............Lord Sephiroth."(Exit to Mount Fenerus) (Is Sephiroth an epic enough teacher? rofl )

Suddenly though, Rahu caught a sent on the wind and barked at Sephiroth. With a nod Sepiroth looked down at the child and said, "Perhaps we will continue another time..." And with that the silver haired man and his great wolf companion dissapeared in a flash of movement, leaving Kai lying unconcious on the ground. But he was hardly in danger for within moments the Hunter-nin that had sent him here in the first place arrived on the scene, the destruction of his clone alerting him to Kai's predicament.
Arriving by Kai's side the Hunter-nin looked around at the village, particularly the three bandits, who had clearly been slain just moments before the hunter-nin's arrival. This is not the work of this child, someone else dispatched these wretches, and whoever it was is truly a master of sword-craft, the hunter-nin thought to himself. Looking back down at the boy, the hunter-nin sighed and then threw him over his shoulder before leaving for a nearby house that belonged to some very loyal friends of Kirigakure."I live to fulfill the dreams of those that came before me" [exit to House of Demascus]

Luo1304 Shinobi of Kiri!
There is a great threat that is upon us! Upon recent discovery, scientists and med-nin banned from villages and considered rogue have taken residency in our countryside. Upon further inspection, the ANBU has discovered that there is a great illness upon us that they have inflected in an attempt to create immortality. A Zombie apocolypse is upon us unless we take up arms against them! We have here photographic evidence of their appearance in our countryside, and their fast approach on our gates. We have included in this message a description of each mutation, each more disturbing than the last:

Normal Zombie Mutation: Nothing except the grizzly appearance of these zombies are out of the ordinary. Their speed is relative to the person who was experimented on, meaning they run from being quite slow, to track-like speed. Be cautious of their bite, as it has been shown to cause paralysis and inflict an unknown venom that we are currently creating an antidote for.
Slug Zombie: This mutation in itself is rather odd. Despite the person's background, every zombie of this type is unusually slow to movement. However, they have been described as being capable of spitting a corrosive acid up to twenty feet in front of them and of a radius of ten feet. This acid burns through flesh straight to the bone, and although they seem uninterested in biting, they are to be dispatched with caution.
Demon Zombie: These zombies are the worst of all three. Their faces appear as Japanese Tengu, and from their bones have sprouted claw-like protrusions from their knuckles. These zombies are incredibly fast, needing at least three genin to tackle, and of special jounin strength. They have been seen to be capable of tossing people twenty feet, as well as rushing people in order to slash through skin. These claw-like protrusions leak a corrosive acid as well, tearing through both flesh and bone quite easily, however metal seems to be a slower process. We ask that EVERYONE exercise EXTREME caution while approaching one of these.
In the village, there are currently five of the first two, and two of the demon zombies. Everyday their numbers double, meaning by this time tomorrow, there will be instead of a total of twelve zombies, a total of twenty-four if some are not dispatched. We ask that ALL genin meet at Kiri lake and form quick dispatch squads and get to the task immediately. We fear they may breach our gates by tomorrows time.
Good Luck My Shinobi, and I Shall See You on the Battlefield,
~Yondaime Mizukage- Luo Ushio
((This mini-arc is rather simple: Kill zombies! Now because of timing, I ask that the zombies simply be portrayed by each RPC. Note their characteristics, and RP them accordingly. The person with the highest zombie kill count by Midnight E.S.T on December 18th gets 5,000 gold, simple as that! This, is Kiri's Current event.))

Yamatano almost left the village for a new one when he spotted his grotesque target: five humanoid beings, their eyes empty, their flesh beginning to rot, and their moans piercing the quiet as they spotted him and Robin. Trusting his comrade to be able to handle herself - for how could he not have faith in such a powerful shinobi? - Yamatano decided to allow her to fight her way, while he confronted the beasts.
Four seemed to amble towards Yamatano at a somewhat slow pace, no faster than the average citizen, so he figured he would simply take them down from long range with a barrage of his shuriken. But even as he was making the handseals, the third burst forward, its speed comparable to a member of the pursuit squad. Before Yamatano realized that this zombie was a true threat, the horrid face was a mere two feet away from his. It extended a bony hand to rip Yamatano to shreds, closing in extremely fast.
But not fast enough to catch the White Fang of Kiri.
Backstepping away from the monstrosity just as it’s hand came down to the spot Yamatano had been in, the silver-haired chuunin bit his thumb through his mask, and wiped the blood of the wound on his shoulder, which bore a tattoo of the kanji for ‘snake.’ “Baselin, come!” Yamatano yelled as he clapped his hands together, slamming them to the ground as he separated. From the puff of smoke that emerged, a Kyodaija wearing armor all along the length of his body, with a large spike on the headplate, which Yamatano was holding on to as the snake charged, aiming to impale the enemy.
Yamatano would deal with the other four in a moment, he knew this one had to be stronger than the others, given the report from lord Luo. Aside from wanting to finish off the beast quickly, Yamatano also wanted to show off his strength to Robin, in hopes of being promoted to a full-fledged Oinin. Pulling out one of his daggers with his free hand, Yamatano readied himself as his summon came within impaling distance of the particularly nasty zombie.

As Robin stepped into the small village, she watched Yamatano begin to fight five who have been infected by the virus. Robin turned away, ignoring the boy's fight as she walked into an alley to the right. She had a feeling there was something else causing this. The moon shone brightly upon them, lighting up even the darkest of areas. As she stepped into the alley, she suddenly heard rasping breaths on the other side. Robin's eyes widened within the darkness of her robe as she spotted the source. A demonic infested human, it was no longer human. His face warped and distorted, howling in the monlight as rabid saliva dripped from its mouth, spewing unto the ground. Claw like protrusions have seemed to have sprouted from its knuckles, a green substance dripping from them. Robin's eyes immediately homed in on the ground where the green substance hit. A sizzling sound echoed through the alley as steam rose from it.
"Just perfect..." Robin stated simply as the zombie dashed at her, it speeds were unbelievably fast. Robin barely had a chance to dodge, kicking to the right of the wall as she wall kicked and flipped above the zombie. Flipping her body above it, Robin landed gracefully on her feet, twirling her body as her robe trailed behind her to face the zombie. The zombie howled once more as it aimed to swipe at her with its claws. Robin itched back, barely missing the strike by centimeters. Jumping back, a piece of her robe was singed from the acid. It could easily tear through flesh and bone. Robin continued to assess the zombie medically, and as it continued lunging at her, Robin continued dodging it. It was thanks to her training that she was even able to move. Unfortunately, there was not much Robin could do against it, considering that she was a genjutsu specialist and genjutsus didn't seem to have an effect on them. They have become rabid beasts, mindless zombies whose only concerns are that they must feed in order to survive. Nothing else matters to them now, just the desire to feed. Robin had no flipped back to the edge of the alley, the zombie howling once more as it lunged at her again.

Impaling the beast straight through the stomach, Baselin continued to charge forward toward the four remaining zombies, with Yamatano riding atop his head. Much to Yamtano's horror, however, the impaled zombie dragged itself furthe down the spike, and clawed Yamatano's shoulder some. Yamatano fell off of Baselin in a roll, clutching his injured shoulder and allowing the snake to keep chargeing, the zombie still thrashing about on the helmet spike. While the Kyodaija barreled through the four, Yamatano had his own problems: Two of the normal looking zombies, one clutching what looked like the handle of a kunai. Both lunged at Yamatano, a hunger in their eyes that only came from defenseless prey.
Too bad for them that, in almost any situation, Yamatano was far from defenseless.
Thrusting his good hand forward, Yamatano called to the water within the air as he cried "Suiton: Mizu Shiriken no Jutsu!" Useing the misty air, Yamatano created eight shuriken, letting them fly toward the stupid zombies, the weapons rending flesh, then succumbing to the physics of dislacement as they turned back to water. One Zombie took several to the chest and was still standing, but another took two to the head, the close range shuriken piercing it's skull and dropping it to the ground, lifeless. Yamatano took note of this as he desperately backstepped for his life, attempting to avoid the claws of this zombie while building chakra for another jutsu, all while clutching an injured arm.

Robin arched back, the claws barely missing her chest as the acid dripped on the ground. Suddenly, she heard a low hiss coming from behind her, and as the second demon aimed to strike, Robin lifted her right leg and pressed it against the wall to her right. Using the strength of her leg, Robin kicked the wall, propeling herself into the air as the second zombie attacked from behind. Kicking the wally once more with her left, Robin was now a story high before she performed a split, proping herself up in the air with the power of her two legs. Looking down, she saw the two demon zombies howling at her. That's when her eyes widened from the darkness of her robe. One of the zombies crouched down, using their demonic power to leap into the air straight at her.
As the zombie aimed to swipe at her, Robin jumped up, flipping her body upside down as she planted her hands atop of the zombie's shoulders. The tissue felt eroded, as if she could peel it off the skin. Their tissue, their cells, they were dead, yet something was keeping them alive, keeping them going. From this position, Robin slammed her feet downwards, pulling up with her arms to make the zombies chest collide with her feet. Hitting the zombie's chest, Robin flipped backwards as the zombie bounced off the ground, rolling back out of the alley. It was a powerful hit, Robin knew, and as she landed gracefully on the ground, the other zombie lunged at her, aiming to strike as she landed. Robin, with open palms, swiped at the zombie's wrists, redirecting the strikes away from her while being careful not to touch the acid. Meanwhile...the other zombie slowly started to rise from the attack, unfazed by it.

In addition to his zombie that was currently chasing him, four other Zombies were still fighting his summon, Baselin. Yamatano decided that, with only one good arm and such a widespread area, he had no good jutsu to take on this may zombies alone, and Robin did not seem to be adept in Ninjutsu. They needed backup. “Baselin!” Yamatano yelled, knowing that Baselin could understand and even speak human language, “Get back to Kiri, contact Kaizen! We need backup!” Baselin was reluctant to leave his master, but nodded and began slithering a beeline toward Kiri, the demonic zombie still flailing helplessly from his helmet spike. The other Zombies, noticing that their prey was now missing, turned to go after the easier target, Yamatano. Now, with five Zombies closing in, Yamatano had to unleash his jutsu fast. Raising his one good arm up to the sky, Yamatano began to allow the water within the air come to his hand, Forming into the shape of a long, curved blade on the end of a ring, with four other identical ones hovering next to it in the air. As the zombies drew closer, their eyes mad with pleasure at the apparent sight of prey that had lost the will to run, Yamatano moved his wrist to the side. All the rings twisted suddenly, releasing three more blades along the length of the ring, and revealing their true forms: Giant fuuma shuriken. As Yamatano extended his arm behind his back, each of the shuriken glowed a brilliant white, the near blinding color doing nothing to stop the approaching horde. At only ten feet away, Yamatano opened his eyes, and cried “Suiton: Shiro Fuuma Mizu Shuriken no Jutsu!” Yamatano then threw his arm forward, throwing his shuriken, and causing the four within the air to launch at the same time. The deadly projectiles literally sawed through the rotting flesh and decayed bones of the undead horde, cutting them all at roughly the same place where the spine meets the hips. Almost all at the same time, the zombies torsos fell from their legs, the latter of which had gone limp and stopped moving. However, the top parts, to Yamatano’s horror, continued to crawl towards him with a monstrous hunger in their eyes…..
