Mooncake's Food Info
Mooncakes are Chinese pastries traditionally eaten during the Mid-Autumn Festival / Zhongqiu Festival. The festival is for lunar worship and moon watching; moon cakes are regarded as an indispensable delicacy on this occasion. Mooncakes are offered between friends or on family gatherings while celebrating the festival, one of the three most important Chinese festivals.
Typical mooncakes are round or rectangular pastries, measuring about 10 cm in diameter and 4-5 cm thick. A thick filling usually made from lotus seed paste is surrounded by a relatively thin (2-3 mm) crust and may contain yolks from salted duck eggs. Mooncakes are rich, heavy, and dense compared with most Western cakes and pastries. They are usually eaten in small wedges accompanied by Chinese tea.
Most mooncakes consist of a thin tender skin enveloping a sweet, dense filling. The mooncake may contain one or more whole salted egg yolks in its center to symbolize the full moon. Very rarely, mooncakes are also served steamed or fried.
Traditional mooncakes have an imprint on top consisting of the Chinese characters for "longevity" or "harmony" as well as the name of the bakery and the filling in the moon cake. Imprints of the moon, the Chang'e woman on the moon, flowers, vines, or a rabbit (symbol of the moon) may surround the characters for additional decoration.
Mooncakes are considered a delicacy; production is labor-intensive and few people make them at home. Most mooncakes are bought at Asian markets and bakeries. The price of mooncakes usually ranges from $10 to $50 (in US dollars) for a box of four although cheaper and more expensive mooncakes can also be found.
Modern cake Jelly mooncake with yam-paste filling
Modern mooncakes resemble the traditional type although with certain modifications. Part of the reason is that people are becoming more health-conscious. Traditional mooncakes are made with lard, and a lot of sugar. Another reason that the traditional mooncake has undergone a successful diversification is its popularity. In fact, it has become so popular that many mooncakes are bought by businessmen who present them to their clients as presents[5]. Modern mooncakes differ most greatly in the type of fillings that are offered. For instance, mooncakes containing taro paste and pineapple, which were considered novelty items at their time of invention have in recent years become commonplace items. In addition, filling with ingredients such as coffee, chocolate, nuts (walnuts, mixed nuts, etc), fruits (prunes, pineapples, melons, lychees etc), vegetables (sweet potatoes, etc), and even ham have been added to give a modern twist to the traditional recipes. To adapt to today’s health-conscious lifestyle, many bakeries offer miniature mooncakes and fat-free mooncakes. Some are made of yogurt, jelly, and fat-free ice-cream. Even high-fibre low-sugar mooncakes have made their appearance. Customers pick and choose the size and filling of mooncakes that suits their taste and diet. For added hygiene, each cake is often wrapped in airtight plastic, accompanied by a tiny food preserver packet. Modern mooncakes are well-accepted among young people in China. [edit] Fillings
Snowy mooncakes first appeared on the market in the early 1980s. These non-baked, chilled mooncakes were initially filled with traditional fillings such as lotus seed, red bean, or mung bean paste. However, the launch of a champagne truffle snow-skin mooncake in 1994 by Raffles Hotel in Singapore, triggered a wave of modern mooncakes[citation needed]. Häagen-Dazs quickly followed on from this innovation, and were one of the first to create an ice-cream mooncake, with a choice of either the "traditional," snow-skin, or Belgian white, milk, and dark chocolate crusts. Moon Cakes have lately become Americanized very much in the United States. Instead of a filling of egg yolk, you can have them filled with marshmallows or chocolate.
Following this bit of lateral thinking, it was obvious these non-baked mooncakes could be filled with pretty much anything that could be made into a paste. An wave of new flavours appeared spanning from:
* cream cheese * ginseng * bird’s nest * chicken floss * tiramisu * green tea * pandan * durian * ice cream (variety of flavours) * chocolate * coffee * peanut
White kidney bean paste or plain ice-cream are usually used as a base of flavours such as green tea, coffee, or ginseng, which are not thick enough or cannot be usually in large enough quantities to be a filling on their own.
Modern varieties of mooncakes are also different from their traditional counterparts in that their crusts typically do not require baking. However, they require refrigerating. There are two main varieties of modern mooncake crusts: Jelly: A crust made of gelling mixtures such as agar, gelatin, or konjac and flavoured with a wide variety of fruit flavourings.

Rooms

This is the room where Philly, Luna, Saraphina and Venice live. It is the small attic of Mina. It is just the right size for the food-adult Sushi and his Kirin pal. Mina found the furniture at a doll house store. Saraphina then put it all together as the fairy fox girl could not get in. She is too big.

In case anyone wanted to know and see the room where said fairy fox girl lives here it is. Ya think she likes purple?

Venice Venice is a Neko pal. Philly was given him to take care of after the BBQ 09. He is pretty nice cat. He likes to sit by the water and lounge. He also loves BBQ food as well. Pretty lazy, but cats normally are. Now that Luna is here she will take ownership of Venice mush to Philly's grumbles.

Go-Go Points
Next stage and points needed to grow:
S T A G E . O N E - f o o d - Your GoGo will start out their life as an inanimate food product (i.e dessert, lunch or beverage). They are animated by our special Gogo rice which makes them very vulnerable. When you take your GoGo home be sure to leave them out to ferment. Don't worry it's all part of their development. Requirements: 3 gg points (approx. 1 week) to next stage.
S T A G E . T W O - f e r m e n t / f o o d - b l o b - It grew... but into what? We don't know, but it sure is cute. The ferment is still about the size of sushi, only a few inches tall, and is still very eatable, so it still needs your protection. It is starting to show some features and personality... but it's still got a lot of growing up to do. With the mindset of a toddler or child they want to learn a lot about the world around them. Be mindful of common dangers around the house. Requirements: 20 gg points (approx. 4 weeks) to next stage
S T A G E . T H R E E - g o g o . t e e n - Finally! They look a bit more human... though they're still no bigger than a set of chopsticks. Don't worry, at this point they can't be eaten, and they can become a little more independent. With the mindset of a teenager they are a little more rambunctious and anxious to get around. They'll still ask a lot of questions and remain quite curious of their surroundings but they have a presence of mind to act more adult-like. While they may be small they will want to do a lot of big things on their own, be mindful of what they do but try to let them learn through trial and error. House pets may be a possible threat if your GoGo doesn't get along with them but otherwise they make a wonderful means of transportation. Requirements: 150 gg points (approx. ??? time) to next stage
S T A G E. F O U R - g o g o . a d u l t - After doing a whole lot of growing, your GoGo can now become an adult. But just what does an adult entail? That is up to your GoGo and you. Will they become a full fledged human? Will they turn into some beautiful creature? Will they just be a lot more grown up? The choices are endless, and only you can decide. Don't forget that now being an adult means producing offspring. If your GoGo is interested in creating a family then you may want to look into seiiku options. (see seiiku for more info) Requirements: 150 gg points
How to get points:
+ Earning points Activity- By being regularly active in the shop this shows us that you are dedicated. You'll likely be the first to hear of upcoming events and news, along with this you may be the first to snag points given out by staff when the shop has less traffic. We say activity is the best because you'll know before others what is going on and where to get the points.
Zasshi - for setting up your zasshi (journal), you'll receive 2 points. We'll set the first post up for you, then the rest is up to you. A full set up journal consists of actual journal posts, not a lot of reserved posts. For every journal post that is not an rp document, but an actual journal entry for the gogo, you'll receive one point.
Roleplay - Every RP that is completed you can gain points based on the number of pages you complete. For every page in the thread you get 1 point, for completing an RP you receive a total of 3 points. Both you and your partner(s) will acquire the same points for that RP but it must be completed. All completed RP must also be documented in your zasshi for weekly updates. Any RP not documented will not count and will have to count toward the next update week. (RP done through IM can also be documented so long as you post it in your zasshi, however the 1 point a page will not be documented this way, only 3 points for the completed entry).
Good Deeds - By helping out around the shop, staff might reward you with points depending on your helpfulness. You may also be asked by shop staff to do specific tasks that will in turn reward you with points as well.
Games - There may be random games that the staff may set up just for fun. These games could also net you some well deserved points. There will be announcements in the guild or in the shop with possible games that may be played in the future. Bingo or tick-tack-toe, etc...
Events - During events, caretakers who are unable to participate for a Gogo can accumulate points through advertisement, being informational to new patrons or just bumping the thread to keep it actively visible in the forums. Non-caretakers or soon-to-be caretakers may also participate in accumulating points through these methods thought they will be limited.
