yeah, I know how much that sucks, I broke my first guitar string the other day. All I know to tell you is replace the string with something else until you have money for new strings. It won't sound good or feel quite right but at least that way you can practice where your fingers have to be for the whole thing on all four strings. That's what I did. Good Luck

No. Just... no. It won't sound the same, it won't feel the same, nothing will be the same. You run the risk of over tightening and warping your neck, or under tightening and being out of tune (or warping your neck due to the lack of tension). And would you rather practice something you're not going to do or would you rather just focus on things on the other strings?
Just go buy a pack. They're like $8 for a good pack.

There... really isn't a substitute for a string. If you care at all for your instrument, just borrow the money or something. They're really not expensive at all. Sure, I kinda say that because I get paid from gigs, but I got new strings before that, and I had no income whatsoever. Just borrow a couple bucks and go get some damn strings...

my parents stopped giving me money (I'm only 15 so no stupid comments please) so I can't get new string or a new amp cord, I've had 3 strings on my guitar for about 2 months now... I was very surprised to see just how many songs can be played on the top 3 strings.
