MASAO ~ the wandering prince
"Everyone has their own path to follow; if you choose to walk beside me, I will always protect you."
Name: Masao
Name Meaning: Holy
Gender: Male
Home Island Hokkaido

Likes: riceballs, snow, the mountains, moments of solitude, helping others, his family being happy and safe, memories of the past.
Dislikes: loosing something important, being unable to help others, demons, unkindness
Masao is a proud Kuniku who has a lot of confidence in himself and his abilities. He always has a serene air about him. So calm is he that nothing seems capable of ruffling his fur, even the most distressing of situations. Over the years he has seen family members come and go and has consoled many a friend. His life experience continues to grow and Masao has become a competant leader whose name carries across Nippon. His love for adventure is still strong, but rather than travelling alone, he moves with his large family and shares his love of learning about the world. He is the strong center of his group; a pillar to lean on for those who choose to stand by his side.
Life so far …
Masao was born in Hokkaido. He felt an instant love for the snowy land. After meeting Aiko he found himself at a village names Hitou and stayed there until he became an adult. Even then he protected his home from Oni and helped any lost villagers find ther way back. He was content.
After meeting a Kuniku named Gabi, Masao decided to broaden his horizons. He left Hokkaido, catching a boat to the mainland. He quickly learnt that boats weren’t his favourite way of travelling. Arriving at Honshu he travelled across the land, learning about life.
It was in Honshu that he learnt the art of battle. There he ran into a few Oni. Each time he bravely went into the battle, gaining strength and wisdom. He became a calm soul with a desire to protect.
Masao avoided contact with most other Kuniku until reaching Shikoku. There he met Sanyu, Emil and Sovann. After a few days spent on the island and decided to leave, this time taking three others along with him. Back in Honshu, there are many interesting adventures to be had…
After a terrible storm, Masao decided to leave the others and continue on his own. He returned to Hokkaido where he met Sazanami and then later Suzuki. Suzu chose to join him and they returned to Honshu where after a while they bumped into Saza. The three begun their trek down towards Kyushu when something interesting happened... something involving eggs.
Now a happy father of five, Masao and his family head towards Kyushu!
After many months much changed for Masao; Sanyu and many of his pups had left to seek their own path. Masao found solace in Sazanami, who was also nursing a broken heart, and the two forged an even greater friendship than before. They now have four adorable pups and are soon planning to move onto Shikoku.
Future Goals:
To travel back to Shikoku.

Friends, Family and Foes
Gabi - Gabi was reason Masao began travelling in the first place. If he hadn’t turned up one day Masao would have been content to stay in Hokkaido and protect the village of Hitou. Masao is very fond of the older male, seeing him as a role model and also a friend.
Aiko– The first other Kuniku Masao met, she was very cold towards him. As far as he knows she still lives somewhere in the mountains of Hokkaido. He hopes that one day he’ll find her again.
Sanyu – the first Kuniku he met upon reaching the island of Shikoku. Masao enjoys Sanyu’s company and is very fond of her. She’s also surprisingly capable of making him blush whenever she compliments him. One of the few Kuniku he really wants to keep in his life for a while to come. He thought they would remain by each others sides forever after having a litter but those hopes were dashed when she suddenly left. He misses her every day.
Emil – Masao knows that Emil doesn’t like him all that much and can’t quit understand it. Still, it’s no skin off his back. Masao really doesn’t care much for Emil at all, but he still treats him with the respect he gives everyone else and tolerates any offhand comments… for Sanyu’s sake.
Sovann - knowing next to nothing about Sovann, other than that he is Emil’s friend, Masao can’t really say much about him. He finds Sovann’s colouring absolutely fascinating, though he doubts his saying as much would be entirely welcome.
Sazanami - Masao considers Saza a good friend who shares a great deal of his own interests. He's thankful for her presence, enjoying her calm, easy-going manner. The way she treats Suzu he finds wonderful. With the passage of time, he has come to rely upon her a lot and tries to share the burden that she feels over her family. Holding a great respect for Saza, he is proud to be the father of her second litter.
Suzuki - Like a big brother, Masao wants to protect and take care of his little sister Suzu. She lights up his life when he's feeling down and he knows he can always count on her loyalty, even if she is a little scatterbrained.
Tsuchi - Masao is amused by his son's attitude to life. In some ways he has a special place in Masao's heart. He can see the goodness that is sometimes hard to see in Tsuchi. Now that Tsuchi is off on his own adventures, Masao thinks of him often.
Yasashiku - These two have an unpsoken bond. They are similar in many ways, both with a calm, princely air. Masao will sit with his son for hours at a time, offering advice and love. He knows Yasashiku feels a great pain after the loss of Kyou and it hurts him.
Shobanichi Sho has the softest of hearts and Masao adores him for it. He is proud of young Sho and is certain that his good spirit will lead him on to a happy life.
Kohana Masao's first little princess was for a time, the light of his life, but with her absence from his life she has left a hole. He wonders how she fairs every moment of the day.
Addanaya He never expected the spirited female to stay around, but he hopes one day Adda will return and tell him of everything she has seen in her life.
Ringo Very fond of the red female, Masao secretly thinks she makes a perfect match for Tsuchi. He is pleased to know she decided to follow Tsuchi up to Hokkaido... and would like to think she might give him for grandkids one day!
Chokichi: Considering he was the only one of Masao's grandkids to stick around, he is Masao's favourite. He finds Chokichi a very steady and reliable male. He knows how Chokichi idolises him and tries to teach him as much as possible.
Ashara: As sweet as pie, Masao hopes she comes to visit again.
Dosequis: Masao knows very little about his eldest grandaughter, but he wonders about her from time to time.
Taberu: The sweet Taberu gave Masao many laughs before he left on his own path.
Kyou: Masao cannot help but feel a great sadness when he thinks of Kyou and how heartbroken his eldest son is over him. He wishes things could have turned out differently.
Unagi: Sazanami's son is a sore spot in Masao's life. He sees a darkness behind Unagi's gaze that worries him greatly. He is quite aware of Unagi's dislike of him, but he realises that until Unagi lets go of his hate, there will always be a wall between. He does not have what is required to reach into the troubled males heart and so for now he watches, hoping whatever comes will not hurt the family.
Vidar: A big part of Saza and Unagi's troubles, Masao hasn't seen much more of Vidar, other than the quiet, watchful male who rose with them on the boat across from Kyushu. He hopes Vidar finds some happines wherever he is.
Sangokai: The most charming Kunifish Masao has ever met, the bubbly nature instantly reminded him of Suzuki. He enjoys watching Sangokai interact with his children and hopes he will stick around and be one of the family for years to come.
Seika: Masao adores Seika's big, brave heart and has a feeling she will do great things for this world. He sees a boldness in her eyes and a love in her spirit that he prays will never be extinguished.
Isamu: Masao has grown increasingly worried; watching his sons growth. The way Isamu treats Ran and the odd look the young male often has on his face have not been missed. Masao has a feeling Isamu will soon go on his own way and hopes Isamu chooses a righteous path.
Ajani: Ajani's like a star in the night sky! Masao loves him greatly and is prone to wanting to give in to the little males every wish.
Ran: The beautiful Ran; Masao is proud of his confident and graceful daughter. He finds her loyalty to Isamu quite touching. He knows there is a great strength within her and knows once day she will shake the world.
Familiar:
Name: Sorano
Name Meaning: 'Of The Sky'
-Masao's little bird friend. He's a hyper little fellow who likes to dart around and make a scene. Whenever they meet new Kuniku's he gets very excited. Each morning he sings Masao awake and then will scout ahead when they travel.

SUZUKI ~ the one whose shall never grow old 
"Look Masao-sama! A butterfly! <3"
Name: Suzuki
Name Meaning: Bell Tree
Gender: Female
Home Island: Hokkaido
Likes: Pretty much everything that isn’t in her dislike list.
Dislikes: Having cold feet, mushrooms, caves and dark places. Demons! ;.;
Suzuki is a happy and hyperactive female. Despite being only a little younger than Masao; she still acts like a rather ditsy and never acts her age. She is young at heart, like another child in the ground if she isn’t watched she can get herself easily lost. Loyal to the core; Suzu would never do anything to hurt her friends and family. Suzuki can be a little too boisterous and chirpy for some, and she doesn’t seem to get the hint when someone wants them to leave her alone.
Life so far …
As baby Kuniku, Suzuki was left by her parents in a deep dark cave. Of three siblings she was the only one to survive a demon attack, a survival she contributes to luck and her smaller build. In the dark she scrambled away, confused and scared she ran until she stumbled upon the exit and was able to fly to freedom. After that she grew up in the open spaces of Hokkaido, afraid of demons and darkness.
When she was young adult she met Masao and she instantly loved his calm and gentle demeanour. His presence reassured her, and as he made no move to make her leave his side, Suzuki decided to remain with him. She considers him to be an older brother of sorts.
She has travelled beside him since the day they met; meeting new friends along the way. Eventually, while lot, she stumbled across a male named Mikoto. He stuck and they apparently got along real well because Suzuki found herself with three adorable pups. <3
Future Goals:
To have more babies and see her babies have babies and lick them all lots and lots! <3

GENNOSUKE ~

Name: Gennosuke
Name Meaning: N/A
Gender: Male
Home Island: Honshu
Likes: Being fawned over, watching plays, art, Sakura.
Dislikes: Uncultured Kuniku, mud and dirt, being ignored, being hungry, bad acting
Gennosuke has a big of an arrogance problem. He considers himself the height of culture, being a Kuniku who spends most of his days watching kabuki plays. He enjoys the attention he gets from the actors, who treat him like a good luck charm. Anyone that comes from outside the city he considers uncouth commoners not worthy of his time.
He finds it difficult to show his affection, even to his mate and children. Gennosuke can be especially hard of his kids. He expects great things of them and yet they can never seem to reach that greatness. While he does love them, he is incredibly hard on them when he thinks they’re not acting correctly. Musubi especially gets the brunt of his ire. Gennosuke-sama does it for their own good, or so he tells himself.
Life so far …
Born in the city of Maizoukin, the heart of Nippon where the first Kuniku lives, Gennosuke was instantly attracted to the colourful, flamboyant plays. He has never left the city and never intends to.
He met Sakura as a young pup and when she started to follow him around, he decided to teach her how to be cultured. While he never really succeeded in changing her, he loves her unconditionally. They had four pups together, one of which is disturbing Gennosuke’s view on how his children should behave.
Future Goals: To finally get his teachings through Musubi’s thick skull and for Sakura to be happy.
Friends, Family and Foes
Sakura: Ah, how he adores Sakura. Over the years he has come to love her greatly, and while it’s often hard for him to show it, he generally ignores any ‘uncultured’ behaviour she shows and bows to any of her wishes with only a little bit of grumbling.
Ine: Gennosuke loves his eldest daughter a great deal; however she constantly tries his patience by going outside the city or by demanding all the attention for herself, even if that means interrupting him during an important lesson. Still, he thinks she has grown up into a fine female.
Mikoto: Very proud of his eldest son, Gennosuke believes Mikoto to be the most impressive of his four children. He will occasionally bend rules for Mikoto’s sake and while he never shows his pride in any obvious way, Mikoto doesn’t get told off no matter what he does. Although Gennosuke has yet to discover Mikoto may have done something quite unforgivable....
Musubi: Gennosuke isn’t exactly pleased with his son Musubi. He believes Musubi to be in need of some self control. The youngest sons love of food has not gone unnoticed and Gennosuke believes it to be an unfortunate trait that must be fixed. Now that Musubi has even gone to far as to take a mate from outside; Gennosuke is threatening to cut all ties.
Aika: A part of Gennosuke wishes his little girl was back, but he is also upset that she would run off in the night without a word. Gennosuke generally refuses to talk about it and pretends Aika doesn’t exist.

YASASHIKU ~ the fragile soul 
"Do not worry; all will be well. You are stronger than you think."
Name: Yasashiku
Name Meaning: gentle; calm
Gender: male
Home Island: Honshu
Parents: Masao and Sanyu
Siblings: Tsuchi, Sho, Kohana, Addanaya
Half Siblings: Isamu, Ran, Seika, Ajani
Likes: his family, plums, sitting with his Sho, the sound of crickets
Dislikes: being left behind, loneliness, thunder storms
Yasashiku is a kind and generous soul; in everything he does he tries to take the right path, following his father's example. He has a very calm nature and seems to hold a great deal of wisdom for his age. While he seems almost impossible to ruffle his fathers, Yasa has a very vulnerable heart. The loss of a loved one, or even just them leaving his life, always hits him hard. He pines for those he may never see again.
While Yasashiku tries to keep an open mind, sometimes he will judge anothers actions without considering the motive. In these cases his disapproval is plain to see and he may even reprimand the other Kuniku for their actions. However, should he be proven wrong in his judgement, he will immediately apologise.
His family means more to him than his own life and he would give his life for them in an instant. He asks them to lean on him when they need anything, often being the one the others will talk to about their problems due to his calming aura. However, he does not like to burdens others with his own fears and doubts. He will keep them inside until he feels physically ill.
Life so far …
Yasashiku was born and raised on Honshu by Masao and Sanyu. He began tarvelling with his family at an early age and met his first friend, Kyou, whome he instantly felt a great bond with. Kyou chose to travel with Masao's pack to Kyushu and the two were blessed with a litter of four. However soon after the eggs arrival Kyou disappeared. When the pups grew, they slowly drifted away, until only Chokichi remained.
Future Goals:
To find his children again and recover from the loss of his first love.

Friends, Family and Foes
Masao - Tsuchi is incredibly proud to have Masao as his father. He considers Masao to be a prince and hopes to one day be just as great as he is.
Sanyu - Mama Sanyu is Tsuchi's image of an ideal lady. SHe's beautiful, kind and filled with so much love for her children. Tsuchi's loves her dearly.
Sazanami - Aunt Saza is the one you don't mess with. Tsuchi finds her quite intimidating and behaves himself when she's around.
Suzuki - Tsuchi would like Auntie Suzu a lot more if she'd stop trying to give him baths. It was bad enough as a pup, but even as an adult she feels the needs to roll all over him and clean him all over. In some ways he's frightened off his overly cheerful aunt.
Yasashiku - Older brother Yasa keeps Tsuchi in line when he goes overboard, giving Tsuchi a bite or whack. Tsuchi loves his brother a lot and respects him greatly. He's the one he usually whines to when something doesn't go the way he wants it.
Shobanichi - Tsuchi wished Sho would get a bit of a backbone and so he's picks on his younger brother mericlessly, somehow believing that it will make the gentle Sho stronger. Tsu loves his brother, he just doesn't show it well.

Ringo - Ask him and Tsu will tell you Ringo is a dumb girl who doesn't know anything. He's told her he hates her a number of times but at the same he won't severe their odd friendship at all. She's the only one he's ever told he's fears of being unable to protect him family to.

crimson Ine
Name: Ine
Name Meaning: ‘Rice’
Gender: Female
Home Island: Honshu
Likes: Being praised, attention, having power, telling others what to do, the city,
Dislikes: Unagi and Vidar, being talked back to, being ignored, flies, mud, a bad hair day
Ine takes after her father in regards to her arrogance. She sees herself as the most beautiful, amazing female to ever exist and is certain she will one day become an empress of all Kuniku. She thinks all those that live outside the city are uncultured morons, and while she occasionally goes out, she refuses to consort with those barbarians... unless of course they say she’s pretty.
Life so far …
First child of Gennosuke and Sakura, Ine has always lived in the city where she was born. She hasn’t really done much but she plans on mating with Ren and becoming an empress. However the likelihood of that isn’t exactly high.

Friends, Family and Foes
Gennosuke: Ine is very proud to have Gennosuke as her father; though she finds it necessary to ignore his rules. She gets told off nearly more then Musubi simply because her ego matches his. Still, she loves her daddy and if any problems arise, she always runs to him first.
Sakura: She thinks her mother is quite silly; but at the same time loves her a lot. Sakura is very hard not to adore and even if Ine would never act like she does, she finds her mother’s cheerful attitude quite fascinating.
Mikoto: The sibling rival for Gennosuke’s affection. Ine usually ignored her brother Mikoto, unless it’s to tell him how much better she is than him.
Musubi: Easily Ine’s favourite sibling; they spend a lot of times just visiting the different places in the city. Ine adores Musubi for the fact that he helps her with her quest to become an empress, never judging her, and she thus provides him with yummy foods she finds. She’ll occasionally give him a cuddle and gets moody whenever he’s too busy to spend time with her.
Aika: Ine doesn’t spend much time with Aika; but she still loves her anyway, if only for being so cute.
Sangokai: Despite being an outsider Kuniku, Ine is fond of Sangokai because he told her she was beautiful and gave her a lovely nickname. She wants to show him the city and make him a cultured Kuniku. However she doesn’t like his choice of friends at all and is ready to make him decide what’s more important. If he wants to be her friend, then it has to be her... or them.
Unagi: A rude, boorish male that needs a good beating. Ine would like to smack him good; but she’s too much of a lady for that. Though if given half the chance she’d try push him into a snake pit.
Vidar: Ine despises Vidar. She first met him as a pup. Not only did he snarl at her, he continuously ridicules her. He can just stay the hell away from her or else she might decide to get down and dirty. Did I mention she hates him?

Suiei ~ the wise ocean heart 
“The greatest joy the gods have given me is to rest on the warm sand and feel the waves upon my body. What more could a Kuniku want?”
Name: Suiei
Name Meaning: swimming
Gender: male
Home Island: Kyushu
Parents: long forgotten
Likes: lazing in the sun, seaweed, stories, the ocean, discussing life, good company.
Dislikes: not being close to water
The wise and thoughtful Suiei loved both a good story and having somebody to discuss philosophies with, but is also quite contest with his own company, simply lolling in the sand or drifting through the ways. He is a very calm Kuniku; who accepts all in the world as what they are. The gods created them for a reason and he stands by that. Long since are the days when he questions the world; though he does like to ponder it. He’s always willing to give words of advice to any who ask and even to some who don’t. Suiei loves the ocean and can always be found on the beach, just enjoying the day. He might seem quite lazy, hardly willing to lift his head some days when he’s in a good spot. He’s often amused by the young Kuniku these days, rushing around and getting into trouble… his own youth seems so far away now.
Life so far …
Suiei has lived a long life; in his early years he travelled the oceans and sought as much knowledge as he could, continuously searching for the reasons behind the existence of demons, Kuniku and humans. But eventually calm settled across his soul. He has become a wise drifter, spending his days on the beaches of Nippon and soaking up the sun.
Future Goals:
To continue enjoying the sea and sun.

-Maneki is a free spirited guy who probably had children in every one of the islands. The gods seem to have granted him boundless luck as he travels wear he pleases, woos the girls and generally makes himself a nuisance to everyone he meets.

Likes: the sun, bugs, flowers, pretty things, funny things, cute things
Dislikes: being cold, being hungry, getting an ouchie
Tenpi is an airhead with the memory of a goldfish. She's a happy lass who wanders about enjoying all the nice, pretty things in life. She often forgets the Kuniku she meets and never remembers a name even if it was just told to her. But she's kind and she's always willing to spend some time with you if you're feeling down. She someone manages to keep herself out of harms way, despite seemingly incapable of really taking care of herself.

Yuzu: Tenpi still can't get 'Yaza's' name right and on most days she forgets who is and why he's there, but she likes him. He's really the only Kuniku she sees a regular basis and so has come to recognize him, including him in her little adventures. Though she still hasn't figured out what he's up to.
