Name: A'li -from Alirien
Age: 18 turns
Gender: Male
Craft: None

Appearance: Not really that much to look at for the most part, A'li has hair just a bit lighter than the majority. He keeps it well taken care of as well, as the back is long enough to just be tied back and out of the way, which it usually is. He may also keep his hair at this length still because his younger sisters often did like to play with it and weave things, like flowers, into it when he was still young and the memories of that time are fond. His eyes are a drab olive color and easy to not notice when he isn't giving a male one of his untrusting glares. Usually, his eyes are set with this look as he is surrounded by males far too much for his liking in this Weyr setting.

History: Alirien was born the only son in a large brood of sisters in a minor hold under Telgar Hold's watch. His mother was into the baking craft, his father a minor. Alirien was easily accepted as just another of the girls, but he quickly rose to take leadership over his sisters even being the middle child. Seeing as he was the only male ever left home, it was his right. He'd give his younger three sisters his chores and watch them like a hawk to see they were done correctly, and of course make sure they didn't hurt themselves with anything, while he left his elder two sisters to their own chores. His mother attempted to get him into the kitchen but he refused to attempt learning, arguing that such crafts wouldn't benefit his protection over his sisters at all.

There was a drawback to being the only male sibling though. Growing up with only females around during all hours of the day made him distrustful of men or even boys younger than his age. Interest taken in any of his sisters by one of the Hold boys was sourly dealt with by a good threatening. A woman searchrider on a green dragon threw many rocks into his life and plans when he was thirteen, and each of his younger sisters were among those lined up to be picked. He stood off to the side of the youngest himself, giving a sharp look at the impressive creature that dared come to try and take his "charges" away. A shock then, that the dragon decided that HE, not his sisters, would make a good candidate. The absurdity, he couldn't just leave his sisters they needed him! After a long discussion with his mother, and assurance from each sister they would be fine without him, possibly for the better without his watchful eye on them always, he reluctantly agreed to go to the Weyr. Surely he wouldn't Impress though, then he would come back.

Personality: Quiet, for the most part. He is distrustful of any male figure he comes across, and it takes even females a bit of time to gain enough trust to have him speak openly. Being taken from his sisters, who he was certain needed him to watch over them, was a strong shock to his system. A few of the girl candidates gained his friendship though, and he started to behave as protectively for them as he had his own blood. He is strong willed when it comes to seeing that nothing of ill will happens to any of his new adoptive "sisters," and when what he thinks is right and what needs to happen isn't agreed with. He will fight for it whether or not it really is for the best, for in his own mind, it is.

His dislike for other boys and men is strong enough that while in the Candidate barracks, he'd slept not on his designated bed, but in the common area away from their company. A few of them have managed to prove they don't need his hostility though, and to them he is more willing to offer his company, and allow them to sit with him and his "sisters" in the dining hall.

Dragon Name: Nellath
Dragon Color: Green
Appearance: Nellath is a dark, rich green for most of her hide. It is broken only by an even darker shade on the tip of each digit, each spine down her back, filling her wings, and the tip of her tail. The darker green also gives her tail a stripe just before the tip is coated as well as two thin stripes on her snout. She is a bit bulky for her size, which earns her part of the name "wher dragon" aside from her personality.

Dragon Personality: If you wanna be blunt about it, you can just say Nellath is one scary b***h. When she first hatched, she screamed loud enough to temporarily deafen the audience simply out of spite. She killed not one, but two candidates on the sand in her quest to find Hers and even if she could remember it now, she wouldn't care. They should have moved if they didn't want to get hurt. It's almost like Nellath knew her horrible fate from the beginning and came into the world ready to fight tooth and nail against it.

The best thing about her is her extreme loyalty to her two clutchmates. She and Kannaroth often butt heads, but she would still do anything for both her and Roseth at any time. She'll listen to queens, too, but only because she has to. Nellath hates golds and as far as she's concerned, she will never, ever change her mind about that. The other colors she's not too fond of either, especially not bronzes. By time she's older, the meeker spirits of any color will think twice before crossing this nasty, vicious green.

If given the chance, she'd even bully her own rider. Thankfully, she won't be, because Hers would have had to go out of their way to brave Impressing this green. Among the three clutchmates, she acts as the leader, and she expects Hers to mock this behavior between their riders. The weyrfolk have been known to refer to Nellath as a "wher dragon" because her brute-ish, animalistic behavior matches them more than other dragons. But she is not stupid, just abrasive.

Unable to ever stay still. Fast is not fast enough and if you're in his way, you're just another speed bump along the path. He's not above running smack into anyone that gets in his path if he can't manage to swerve away soon enough, which never really is soon enough.

The Day of Hatching and Impression

The How of it: Once the ear-piercing scream had been done with, Alirien noted the dragonet looked extremely displeased. Hm, a bit like himself really, he hadn't wanted to be there in the first place and forced to stand around all of the other boys. They couldn't be trusted! His attention was really only half on the hatchling, only sparing another look at the sounds of what had to be a painful pair of mauling or tramplings. Well.. they should have moved out of her way then, really. No one should be fool enough to not move aside for an angry female, she had every right to do it. It was probably this like-minded thought that gave the hatchling a glimpse of something similar, familiar to her own mind. Yes, they should have moved. She did have the right to make them get out of her way if they wouldn't do it! His own loyalty, and bitterness at being taken away from his sisters probably fueled the fire, and soon Alirien found himself looking back towards the sands only to see whirling red-orange eyes locked on him mere feet away.

They won't take us from our sisters, A'li mine. Never. Get away from them Mine, we're too good for any of them! Our sisters need us with them now.

The Why: Alirien was very loyal, and protective over all of his sisters before he was taken away, and his new adoptive "sisters" gained all of that overprotective tendency over their heads. His habit of always keeping a watchful eye over those chosen few girls might make him seem a mother hen to some, but his willingness to drop whatever his chores are to step in and keep something from going awry for them, whether they really need his help or protection or not, appealed to the green's own feeling of loyalty to her sisters. The fact that he showed his disdain to even the higher ranking members of the Weyr was also appealing, nobody was higher than Her anyway, they just had to realize it! Alirien's like-mindedness to her would give him a firm standing to not be bullied into her ways, but his own protective "big brother" habits would likely have him bending to her will on more than one occasion just to see that she gets what makes her happy with the least amount of harm to herself, so if it would mean dragging himself into the mix, well, so be it.
