Being confined to the den wasn’t so bad. Playing with his brothers and sisters was a lot of fun, especially when he got to play with his older siblings. Wahadi still didn’t know the truth about them. As far as he knew they were all one family under one mother. He was too little to consider the problem of their absent father.
Today Wahadi ventured out of the den once more. There was important work to do, so he wasted no time. Holes! We need lots and lots of holes and Wahadi is the only one who can dig them fast enough!
Wahadi set right to work digging in front of Kabusha’s den. After he finished his first hole, Wahadi ran to another spot about five feet away and started digging another hole, this one bigger and deeper than the last. When he grew bored with digging in this spot Wahadi got up and found another spot to dig. Whatever he was looking for, he’d find it sooner or later. Until then it was a mystery. Even Wahadi wouldn’t know what he was searching for until he dug it up. That made his game even more exciting!

Coming home from a day with Yuki was exhausting. Sure the pale female was fun to play with, but she took so much energy to keep up with. And Dusan, being a gentleman toward her, obliged in everything she asked of him. So the little juvenile wanted to come back to the den and just go to sleep. Now that the other cubs have been weened, maybe he'd get to spend time with his mother. He needed to talk to her, to vent his frustrations to her; to make sure she still loved him. But there was always, ALWAYS, another sibling around. Even the cousins were up earlier than him.
But what he saw when he got home wasn't his mother. No, it was that little bitty boy that stole his mother away from him. Tensing up when he saw the holes the other was digging, Dusan snorted and stopped a few feet away. "Don't dig holes in front of the den. Momma goes out at night. What'll you do if you break her ankle because she stepped in one and twisted her foot wrong?" He snapped, irritation clearly in his voice. Even as a cub that age, Dusan knew better than to dig holes this close to the den.
The dark blue male didn't even try to mask his distaste for the little brown cousin of his and he narrowed his eyes slightly. Sure, he knew momma saved their lives because their momma had died, but now it felt as if momma didn't have any time for him anymore. Dusan was a mother's boy through and through, and now he couldn't spend a minute of any day with her. Yes, he was irritated.

Dark blue fur, purple eyes. One look at that face set Wahadi's fur on edge. To say he expected that criticizing tone when Dusan walked by was an understatement. Anything else would have convinced Wahadi he was dreaming. He stopped digging and glared. "Don't say that! I'm gonna fill them in..."
He glanced at the holes. They didn't look dangerous to him. Besides, Kabu knew what he was doing. He couldn't stand the thought of her being hurt.

He mocked the smaller male under his breath and rolled his purple eyes before letting out a huge sigh. "If you're going to fill them in, then what's the point of digging them? You have litter mates, go play with them." Basically, he didn't want the other to be around the den, nor his mother, nor his family. He held a huge grudge against the three little cubs for taking his mother away for a whole ten days. It felt like a year to him!

"I'm looking for treasure." Wahadi sat down beside his hole, ears flat. For some reason Dusan's anger made it more important for him to be defensive. He didn't want his older brother to think he was right. Wahadi growled softly and stood up suddenly.
"You can't tell me what to do, Dusan! You're not the boss of me!"

He sighed. Long and hard. That's all that escaped his lips for a long moment while he eyed the littler male. Really, he wasn't being fair. It was only for a few days that he couldn't see his mother, and these were family. Dusan knew he shouldn't hold a grudge against the cubs; it's not like it was their fault their mother was killed, right? A hard frown creased his lips as he waged a war withing himself.
"Look. I know I'm not your boss....And I guess I don't mean to be so damn rude to you." He didn't know why he was apologizing, but he felt he needed too. He was being a suck up little momma's boy right now. That wasn't really Dusan.

Though most of the time he acted just like any other cub his age, Wahadi had moments where his emotions seemed to take possession of him like an angry spirit. When he finally regained control over his emotions he could never explain what it was that set him off. This wasn't about the holes. It was about the way Dusan treated him.
"Well you are damn rude to me! And... and that's not okay! Nobody else in this family treats me like you do. What's your problem?" He felt so angry, he didn't how to speak to Dusan right now without yelling.
((Don't feel obligated to have Dusan comfort him. He will feel really stupid about this later. xD))

"You really want to know why? Because I feel like you stole my mother from me. She was my best friend, and then you guys took her away and I can't spend much time with her anymore. A stupid reason, but how would you feel if your best friend was taken?" He asked, his voice honest with emotion that tightened his throat. Swallowing thickly, Dusan's violet eyes turned to the side and he sighed deeply. He felt so stupid for saying it out loud.
But... he did feel better, now that he had said it. He knew he was stupid for harboring such abhor for his new siblings. It wasn't there fault their mother was killed and their father wasn't around. Dusan knew that, and still. "I'm just jealous..."

He didn't want to fight Dusan and yet he did. He knew his mother would be angry with him if he beat up his older brother, so he growled and let his anger simmer. "Well I didn't steal her! She's my mom just as much as she is your's and she's my best friend, too. So just deal with it, okay?"

Dusan stretched out a bit and sighed, nodding. He knew his littler brother was trying hard to cool his temper, so Dusan as going to do that as well. Those pink eyes landed on his brother and he gave a sad smile. The poor boy didn't know what happened. Well, Dusan wouldn't tell him. It wasn't his place. Soon enough, he'd have to leave and get a new name.
"When I leave on my name quest... When I come back. Let's start over. ...New names, a new life, right? We can try to be friends..."

Wahadi glared at him and turned away. He sat down with his back to Dusan and stared at the earth, eyes full of ire. How dare Dusan think he had more claim to their mother than he did? Wahadi's fur stood on end as he took a deep breath, relaxing again as he let it out. He looked over his shoulder at Dusan. His eyes were still angry, but softer. "I guess."

He saw the hatred in those eyes and he looked away, not able to meet them anymore. His cousin might be younger than him, but he apparently knew how to put Dusan in his place without trying much. Licking his lips and nodding, he got up and shook the dried mud off his pelt. ".....Maybe we can salvage our..... ......familiness yet. Sorry if I made you angry." With that, Dusan headed into the den, leaving his cousin/brother to do what he wanted. He wouldn't get on the little guy again.
