That's what my boyfriend says, and I'm lost on words on how to explain it to him that we're not. He says too "its just a book," and we shouldn't treat it like we do. That all we do is bash it and don't criticize it constructively.
Personally I think of Twilight as an infectious phenomenon that's ruining the minds of teens & tweens everywhere; a plague that must be stopped.
So yeah, discuss.
(And on top of that, he's not a Twitard; he's not a fan, and actually thinks the movie sucked.)

We DO criticize the books. Look at our forums! Lots of our threads are aimed at deconstructing Twilight and examining it. A 'hate group' is often aimed at malicious intent and usually does not back up their arguments with proof.

And that being said, if that was the case, so many of us wouldn't have tried at least the first if not all the books before deciding we didn't like it. Maybe some people in this group are a bit extreme, but the majority seem to be rather sane about it and wouldn't start a holocaust over it.

YES YES YES. You are correct. People underestimate the destructiveness of Twilight.
We share a brain. Seriously.

We don't mindlessly bash Twilight for the hell of it. We always give reasons to why we hate the series, and don't just go around screaming "Twilight sucks!!!" or "We hate Twatlight!!!" without backing ourselves up. THAT would be mindless bashing. I hardly see that around here. =/ To me, this group is to discuss WHY the Twilight series is so unappealing to us and allows us to express our opinions freely. There's nothing wrong with that.

Okay, so we might be a hate group. So what? We're also a very awesome hate group, as our disgusting topic is Twilight. It's a book. So? It still matters. We bash it. Yes, we do, but we actually have the reasons that we don't particularily enjoy it. This makes us a lot more than just bashers.

We have reasons for our dislike and we discuss them. Doesn't make us a hate group really.

Bleeding Heart Willow We have reasons for our dislike and we discuss them. Doesn't make us a hate group really. I know right? However, if the Twitards play their cards right, anti-Twilightism will be outlawed!

Ω Agreed. Even though I'm all for war against the Twitards, it only goes to the Twitards, never to the moderate fans. Even though Crystallia and sammitch thought I'm some sort of lunatic for being hostile to Twitards, I'm never hostile to moderates. With that being said, I'll also prove that Meyer is an idiot. Her crapspawn series is so influential in the minds of the idiots, that they become extremist fans.

Emperor Angelo XXV Bleeding Heart Willow We have reasons for our dislike and we discuss them. Doesn't make us a hate group really. I know right? However, if the Twitards play their cards right, anti-Twilightism will be outlawed! They have to have working brains first and whipe their unseeming foamy mouths before they go to anyone to whine about us though. However, I wouldn't put it past them to try, if not kill an Anti first. The world outside scares me sometimes.

If Stephenie Meyer pushes for legislation against our activities, then we might be doomed! They might not have working brains, but Meyer has, and she can make them do anything! We have to be careful! And trust me, I have to deal with Twitards almost everyday, and I've seen some extremely violent ones!

Sure, we are a hate group, and we bash the book, but at least we have an arguement to stand on! It's not like we're saying "Potatoes are bad for you" and give no reason. And if it's just a book, then why are the Twitards not treating it like just a book? It's the Twitards that are making it more than a book. We're here to criticise it and also hate on it because it affects the minds of many an uneducated teeny bopper.
