Brown eyes stared straight ahead at the dead end before him. He'd been wandering around in his "haunted maze" for what he assumed to be hours. So far there'd been nothing that had popped out at him, and nothing even worthy of being deemed "scary" it was just a boring little maze made by boring little people.
This was one of the many reasons why he always wanted to be left alone... There was nothing ever to entertain him. Nothing to ever change the emotion on his oh-so-emotionless face.
Nothing...
With a sigh he turned around to retrace his steps hoping to either find the exit to this stupid thing or at least wind up where he started. At the entrance.
Thud thud thud...
With the light movements Xander steadily ran through the maze, following his nose to maybe even find someone else here. At least someone with sense so he could follow them out this blasted maze.

Sitting in the center of a large circular area with pathways leading off in every different direction, a small black wishling watched with a blank face as a dark squirrel with marking similar to her own raced from one exit point to another. The little thing was trying to discern any differences between the paths so as to gather some clue as how to get safely out of this place that was scaring him to pieces. Ciera was trying and succeeding to hide the vast amusement she felt at watching the little vermin scared out of his wits and for once not irritating the heck out of her.
What made this all even better was it had been his idea to actually come in here in the first place. She had been reluctant to even try, but someone had said something about the living dead in the maze and that had piqued her curiosity. Having a chance to examine someone else’s handy work might help her with her own spell that she was currently stuck on so she had agreed to come. Unfortunately they had yet to come across anything even remotely resembling a being brought back from the dead, unless you counted the stupid plastic bones that had been thrown in. But the consolation prize hadn’t been half bad.
Ciera’s ears twitched and turned as she heard a thudding noise coming from a small side passageway to her left. Hissing softly at the squirrel she gave quick instructions and moved to the wall between two passageways. The ruff uncut stones that made up the wall were full of jutting edges and cracks made it easy to scale the wall with her enhanced climbing skills. Finally perched above the passage way she checked down to find Squirrel sitting a few yards in front of the entrance providing distraction for her to pounce on what ever came through the passage.

Xander stopped in his tracks right before the next turn, his ears and nose twitching suspiciously. He was not an idiot by any means so he'd managed to detect movement on the other side of this turn. Soon it went eerily silent and his muscles tensed as he pondered his next move. Advance forward to face his adversary? Or would he flee back where he came from. He sighed as he knew which of the two actions he'd have to do. Never would he give anyone the satisfaction of seeing his rear as he fled. That was just something that his pride wouldn't allow.
Oh how he missed his cozy breen chair now.
Reluctantly he relaxed his muscles ever so slightly before advancing to the turn, all five senses alert for whatever may face him this next turn. What he did see however, was beyond all his expectations. He stood face to face with a small squirrel. He stared at the squirrel for a mere moment, falling for the distraction temporarily before swinging his head around to meet a piercing red gaze.
Judging by the posture of the other Wishling, Xander quickly deducted that she was about to pounce. His muscles tensed and his tail twitched at the prospect of a fight. He was naturally a Mixblood so fighting wasn't one of those things that he particularly enjoyed, but he could fare off well against most adversaries. And the other? From the size of those horns it was easy to tell what the other Wishling favored.

Muscles rippling slightly before freezing again Ciera waited patiently above the passage way her breath caught in her lungs as a shadow began to emerge, but she froze when the grey figure entered. Rather then pouncing straight away she frowned trying to figure out what the heck a mixed blood was actually doing up and about and in a maze of all places. Her moment of surprise was lost in an that same instant though as the Wishling turned around and spotted her. Shaking her head in disgust she pushed off from the wall jumping gracefully to the floor and landing squarely on the squirrel’s tail.
Prone to temper she might be, but stupid no. She knew off the bad if she started anything the other wishling would be the one to finish it. The squirrel screeched in pain and chattered rapidly at Ciera trying to pull his tail out from under her paw. Rolling her eyes Ciera lifted the paw off the tail while batting at her familiar with the other sending him skittering to the side a few feet. Sitting down on her hind paws she lifted her left front and started cleaning it as she gave the squirrel a sidelong glance before her eyes turned back to studied the new comer with a bored interest.
“She wants to know who you are and why a…” The squirrel paused for a moment looking up at Ciera with a questioning look when she just shrugged her shoulders he continued, “why a lazy fur ball like yourself would even set foot in a place like this.”

Xander watched the other coolly as she leapt off the wall and landed on the squirrel's tail. It seemed to him that she had obviously thought better than attacking him? He shrugged it off. He'd much rather go without fighting that actually with. He watched with mild amusement as she messed with the small squirrel. Batting it aside and using it like a toy.
His brown eyes widened for a moment as the squirrel spoke, but almost as instantly as it happened went back to its indifferent state. Perhaps it was her "pet". Perhaps she'd enchanted it. He decided to just drop the subject realizing that he really didn't care if the squirrel could even sing.
He withheld a chuckle at the word 'lazy' fore that was exactly what he was. He could've easily left then and there, but the pair in front of him interested him. It wasn't everyday that you run into a talking squirrel and an evil Wish in some supposedly "haunted" maze.
"I'm here simply because I heard that it was 'scary'.", he said, flicking his tail in disappointment. "But it's quite clear to me now that this place is just the opposite.", he concluded whilst throwing a disgusted glance at one of the fake skeletons lying nearby. He'd purposely avoided answering the first question seeing as how he wasn't by anyway obligated to actually do so.

Annoying was often a thought that came to mind when dealing with any other wishes for Ciera and it was blantantly clear from the flash in her eyes that it was parading around in big bold letters in her mind at that very moment. She felt it well with in her rights to be given answers when someone just wandered in on her so that she could judge if they where going to be anything of a threat or not and the furry hairball sitting infront of her was denying her her rights. Running her tounge over and around one of her front fangs her sharp gaze wandered around the chilly grey room intently searching the dark corners and shadows.
The squirrel scampered a few steps closer to Ciera sensing on its own radar that it was safe, for the moment, to be with in reach. "How very...observant of you." was the only reply the little squirrel gave before giving a disgusted look at Ciera and a sharp shake of his little head. Ciera simply continued to stare back not even bothering to issue a command as she already knew the outcome of this battle of wills. Later though there would be retribution for questioning her.
It was done and over with in a matter of mere seconds as the squirrel darted over to the face skeleton that Xander had been given the diguested look to. Squeezing between two of its lower ribs he shuffled around a bit then returned to Ciera's side dragging a half rotten mouse carcus along with him. Patting the squirrel on the head in a degrading way Ciera pushed him out of the way then traced two circles around the dead mouse with her claws.
The ruff flooring gave way only partially and so parts of the circle were actually made up of her claw as well. Hissing in a strangely hypnotic way Ceira's horns, claws, and eyes took on an unearthly glow that quickly spread to the circle then the mouse. A raspy almost choking sound filled the air as the little mouse started moving and twitching with have rotted muscles trying to remeber their use. Her tail twitching Ciera turned her attention back to Xander as the reanimated mouse gained its feet unsteadily and made a beeline for the mixed blood.
