That's the point that I finally got close enough, right when the girl with the club is swinging it. I stepped in, grabbed the club and threw it away, at which point the girl holding the book tries to attack me with it. Unfortunately, I didn't convince her to go away, so I had to hit her in the solar plexus, and winded her. I didn't have my cell phone on me or I would have called the cops, but as it was they just took of running, the girl I hit more crawling and stumbling than running, but they took off. I went to check on the girl they were chasing and it turned out she was hugging herself on the ground.
I helped her get up, slowly, and walked her over to the nearest store and got them to call the police. I stayed long enough to give a statement and give them the descriptions of the girls then one of them slapped me on the shoulder and called me a nice guy.
I never asked her name, though I wish I had, but apparently the cops had given her my name because a day later I got a phone call from her parents thanking me for helping their daughter.
These twilight fans are driving me insane, it's not enough that I have to deal with them every day at university, but now that I need to step in to stop two from beating up another girl? That's just insane. These fans need to learn that their actions have consequences.
