This is a food chat thread! I love to cook and am in other threads and guilds based on sharing recipes and talking about food! Todays lunch special is... STEAK! Rubbed with black pepper, soaked with soy, it's flavorful, with a bit of a kick, soft and juicy. Tucked inside a pita, stuffed with pepperjack cheese, and toasted in the stove for a moment to make it crisp and to melt the cheese. mmmmmm... Sadly I don't have a pic of that.

Yil enters the canteen. The aroma of many delicious foods fill up her nose.
"Dangit now I'm hungry!"
Yil rushes to the cook behind the counter and tugs his/her sleeve. Then promptly whips out a scrap of paper, which is unreadable to others.
"I have a very healthy and simple salad recipe for you! You need:
1 cucumber. 3 tomatoes. 1 lemon. 2 cloves of garlic. (or more if you love your garlic)
Chop the cucumber and tomatoes in cubes and put them in a bowl. Squeeze out the lemon in a seperate bowl. Crush the garlic and mix it with the lemon. Then pour it into the cucumber/tomatoe bowl.
And enjoy."
The cook raises an eyebrow and mutters "Supid vegetarian demons..." "Oi, I ain't vegetarian! Just healthy!"

PFFT Trying to bring veggies into this kitchen! Well, I guess I could try for something a bit more healthy.. Maybe.. Potatoes are veggies, right??
Oven fries, less oil needed! RUSSET potatoes (I hate when they don't tell you what kind of tato to use) Wash the tato. Cut the tato, into thin fries, shoe strings they call them. They don't need to be prefect, no reason to risk cutting yourself. Sit in colr water for at least 5 minutes, it helps leech some of the starch away for a less potato taste. Be sure to dry off the tato bits, it'll make it easier to handle later. Put some veg oil in a pan, not alot, maybe a full table spoon if you use a reg size potato, but feel free to add as much as you want. Toss tato's in oil, be sure that they are as coated as possible, drain exsess oil and salt or season as desired. Here's where the recipe differs from pan frying tatos, which can be messy and a hassle. Put the tatos onto a pan, spread out evenly, and pop them intot he stove at a high temp, over 400F. Shouldn't take more then 5min, but keep an eye on them, they can burn easly, feel free to lower the temp and take it slow. The fries should be just as good as panfried, but mucgh less greasy. Admitenly, they may not be as crisp as pan fried tatos, but they are still really good.
I made about 3 reg potatoes worth of these a lil over an hour ago, it was a huge mountain of goodness that I should have shared with the rest of the sprockets. but lets face it, you deserve lesser tots.
*Pulls bag out of freezer, dumps preshaped potato flavored sticks into a giant frier*

People always thinking there be only one potato in the world. That's like saying there's only one type of rice in the world. BLASPHEMY!

Yilanti Midnight People always thinking there be only one potato in the world. That's like saying there's only one type of rice in the world. BLASPHEMY! Its easier to just assume theres only one type. I mean, there is over 3000 types of Potato in Peru alone, where it originated.
Also, you make an adoreable Ms Muffet.

Why, thank you Mr. Ji. *twirls*
Well, I used to imagine there's like 5 or 10, but 1? Hmm.
Today I ate Spaghetti. I used tomato sauce and added chopped paprika (yellow), aubergine, carrot, olives and courgettes. Let it simmer for a long time until the vegetables become soft. It was yummy. My sister hated me for using so many vegetables.
*laughs maniacally*
