I think the title pretty much explains it all. I'm starting my second instrument of trombone tomorrow (I already play french horn) any tips?

aww, thats what i want to do except i play trombone and want to play french horn

Does the trombone that you'll be learning on have a valve or valves? If so, learn to use those as soon as you can after learning the slide without valves. It's easier to get certain notes in tune with the valves than without ^_^
