On the outskirts of Werewolf Woods their lies an inner sanctum for those brave enough to seek it. A place that can disperse the mist that clouds ones vision allowing for clear thoughts. Nature remained untainted here from battle and from the presence of all evil. It was a place of tranquility that allowed for the beauty of life to flourish without interference.

Situated a mile off the river cost, within the forest was a small cabin built over the ages by Ichikuri. This cabin had been his home for many years. Due to his abnormal eyes this was a place where he could never be judged and could use the gift of his eyes to look into a world without conflict.

In the mists of Avalon
By the lonely forgotten waters
Memories have e’er slipped
From a past too oft forgotten

Hidden from death battle roar
Fly safely to harbor mist
Slide into black waters flow
Raised hand and wooden oar

Magic runes and incantation
Leads the fading hero’s heart
Left hiding in darkness' gloom
An enchanted island’s resurrection

In the mists of green Avalon
Conflict rises not again
Now lost is the Isle so fair
Forever from our sight is gone

Seek you penance to nobler kings?
He will elude your desperate gaze.
For he dwells inside your soul
And needs only love to give him wings

I approached the entrance to the valley and began to descend within the high banks of bushes that lined the path all the way to the bottom. I had spent the entire journey visualizing the peaceful scenery that awaited me. I had loved the tiny, secret vally all my life, as it had become not only a home but a sanctuary from the despairs of the world.

I slowly approached the tiny building with its mossy red roof tiles. It was not a structure that one would find luxurious but it presented all the neccessities one would need. The door creaked open and a rush of cool air swept the cabin. The cabin was covered in a thick layer of dust. It had been a while since I had last been here with my recent graduation the academy. I proceeded to wipe the table and its seats and set down the food I had brought. As I unwrapped the food the faintest noise was heard. The sound of the scratching of a brush had awakened all my senses. I looked out the window and it was clear that their was a disturbance in the particles that gently cycled in this domain. I was not alone.

"Who goes there" I shouted

(I write in the third person if that's ok ><' I don't know what guild standard is, but since this is kind of a journal, it's probably fine that you write in first XD)

"I'm sorry to have disturbed you," A shape emerged from the brush, working to secure a short, black, sleeveless kosode tunic with a tidy bow in the white sash that held the garment in place. The bottom of the tunic came to mid-thigh and the hem was tattered as though a longer outfit had been torn to the desired size.

Besides the tunic, sash, and sheathed zanpakuto attached firmly to her waist, Aislinn wore little else. Phasing between wolf and human form was a bit rough on her clothing. Her usual outfit was constantly being torn to shreds during her transformation, so she'd lately taken to wearing this simple garment after a change. It was funny, she reflected, that her sense of propriety was somewhat altered by becoming a lycanthrope. Her hair had, of course, fallen out of its braids and it ranged wildly around her face. She'd have to fix those again when she was back in the Seireitei.

"'Was just exploring. Your little cottage here caught me nose, y'know," She lilted with a quick smile, slipping a simple leather band from her wrist and tying up her hair into a ponytail.

(Oh I did 1st person just for initial introduction)

Kinsetsu exited the cabin in one swift motion, disregarding the exquisite food that lay before him. His piercing blue eyes surveyed around him till the figure emerged from the brush. Glancing at the approaching figure he felt at a loss for thought. He was not one to show the slightest change in emotion but he was clearly caught off guard.

Expecting a potential threat, what appeared before him in no way resembled that. A slender athletic female frame moved with ever present grace towards him. Her garments seemed to be worse for wear as they barely covered the lightly tanned skin. Despite the natural beauty of her frame what caught his attention were the eyes. They displayed in their clear blue appearance a strong willed individual of intellect. Kinsetsu in his inner thoughts almost did not hear her speak. He quickly recovered displaying his typical calm demeanour.

"I can see you are no enemy of mine so I welcome you in my dwelling. I have garments that should fit well and a hot meal waiting within."

He held the door open awaiting her entry. It seemed as if his secret dwelling was not so secret anymore.

(Kk ^^)

Aislinn cocked her head to one side, a hint of a smile still on her lips as she appraised the stranger who had emerged from the shingled cabin. She was intrigued by the odd, pupil-less quality of his blue eyes, but she made no comment of it. He seemed kind enough, and certainly willing to help her out. Something about his face gave the impression that he was slightly taken aback by her appearance. With a quick glance downward, she could see it was easy to mistake her for a rather distressed damsel.

"'S sweet of ya," She said, walking through the door he held open. The most wonderful smells were issuing from the cabin, and Ash was nothing if not direct in her actions. Her stomach was telling her it was time to eat. "I'm Aislinn, by the way," She said as she walked in. The floor of the cabin was smooth and cool against the callused soles of her feet. It was soothing after a romp in the forest on wolf pads. "But y' can call me Ash,"

She turned back to the stranger, taking in his appearance a second time and judging him to be in his later teens. "And who might you be?"

She approached with perfect stride towards the cabin. Passing him by he kindly returned the smile that brought a glimmer of light to her eyes. It was clear by her strong posture that she was quite capable of taking care of herself. He watched as she passed him entering the small dwelling and had the smallest regret that he was about to introduce someone to a domain in such filth.

"Excuse the mess it has been quite some time since I have been here.

Once they had both entered he closed the door behind him, keeping the cool air outside. He saw her eyes shift towards the food and was glad he had at least that to properly welcome his guest. This would be a first for him as no other living thing had ever entered this cabin other than him.

" Please take a seat Ash. My name Kinsetsu Ichikuri currently in squad 12 of the Gotei 13. If you don't mind me asking I'm curious as to how you arrived here."

He grabbed two bowls and filled them with the stew he had made before depositing them on the table. He was quite eager to find out her response, continuing to gaze upon her.

"Kinsetsu Ichikuri," Ash repeated, taking a seat without further prompting. She tugged the tattered hem of her tunic down a bit for modesty's sake. Not that Ash herself actually minded. She was so often without clothes altogether than it was easy to overlook them when she wasn't concealed by a wolf's pelt. "Bit of a mouthful, hey? Got a nickname for me?"

She played idly with her lip ring, silently considering her response before speaking. "I was just having a bit of a run through the woods. Your place seemed interesting enough, so I decided to have a bit of a look 'round. Tenth Division, by the by. I'm on your side," She followed these words with a quick wink and a disarming smile as she accepted the bowl of stew. It smelled wonderful. The rich scent was one of the things that had drawn her to this place.

As he sat down all tensions had long been gone. He felt comfortable having her in his dwelling. His eyes with their ability had judged her and found no disturbances, simply a tranquil state.

"I have had many nicknames in the past and not all have been pleasant due to my physical difference. My parents as a youth were fascinated with latin and did call me Auri. Id that is easier to remember I have no issue with you calling me that.

The scent of the stew had peaked his interest to a point he could no longer resist it. He dipped his spoon within the stew and took his first mouthful, enjoying the warmth that went down his throat."

"Ah squad 10. It would make perfect sense that you would stumble on this place as it is on the outskirts of werewolf woods that seem to be your squads prefered location. Well you are fortunate to find yourself here as this place is quite magical. It makes all your anxiety's vanish. On another note I have not seen you around much in the Gotei. I assume your new to the Gotei like me. How have you found it thus far?"

He was quite surprised by how he was behaving. Typically he remained quiet but she had drawn out his thoughts. He was unsure of what that meant but it was a feeling he had no experienced since the death of his mentor.

Aislinn copied Auri, dipping her spoon into the heavy stew. She shoveled a generous portion into her mouth, a look of easy bliss written in her features as the food went down. She made a soft sound of approval before setting down her spoon for a moment.

"That's prime," She sighed, relaxing. "Now y' said this place eliminates anxieties? Useful, that," I thought it seemed easier to keep my form. Ash was given to strong outbursts of emotion. Becoming a lycan had only strengthened these passions and the volatile nature of her moods made it difficult to retain one shape over the other. She often found herself shifting either into or out of her lupin form under stress. It was nice to have found a place where she wouldn't be in danger of that.

"I'm settling into the squad pretty easy-like," She continued, swirling the stew with the tip of her spoon. She wondered briefly if Auri had cooked it himself. "It's exciting to be out of the academy, see. I'm wondering if y' feel the same. Now, bein' Twelfth, you'll be an inventor of sorts?"

It seemed his stew was well enjoyed by the look of satisfaction on Ash's face as she set down her spoon. The conversation seemed to flow quite easily with both parties having the hunger urges suppressed.

"This place is a sanctuary of sorts. It is completely different than the Sereitei. Listen closely and you will realize it all well. Not one disturbance is in the air to infringe on the natural balance. This was a place I found as a young child and was my place to get away and reflect. I was not well perceived due to my physical difference and was pretty well known as some evil soul."

He looked into her eyes trying to judge her reaction whether she thought this was simply his own imagination. It seemed from the way she remained attentive without chaing she believed him.

"Glad to hear you enjoy your squad. I myself joined squad 12 due to my interest in creations. I would have to say I was destined to work in the sciences. I'm currently working on quite an immense project. Coming here allows me to free my from the stress that comes by undertaking such a project."

He wondered if he had said too much. It was so easy to loosen his lips in her presence but the project was one that had to remain a secret. His Captain, the only other individual knowing of project, had given him approval but not even he knew the extent the exact nature of the project.
PostPosted: Fri Oct 16, 2009 3:57 pm

"Sounds like that project's quite something," Ash said, watching Auri as he spoke. She hadn't reacted to what he'd said about his past, and judging by the way he hurried past the topic, it seemed a bit of a sore spot that even she knew not to press. Now, though, there was something about his face that told her there was more to this project than he was letting on. Natural curiosity piqued, she decided to try her luck. "Don't s'pose you'll be telling me what it is, now, hey?

She flashed a smile before taking another mouthful of stew. She chewed, swallowed, then continued. "Science was never my strong point, see, but I've a feeling your project's something of interest,"

It was clear his slip of tongue was bound to draw attention. It was not a surprise that her curiosity had brought forth her next question. He had to be quite careful now in order to not be disrespectful towards his guest, while not exposing more on the topic.

"The project is one that will be one big experiment. It is a research experiment therefore I can never know fully what the results would be. What can be expected is if it is successful it may impact greatly the Seretei therefore you can understand my hesitation to exposing too much on the subject. As I stated my Captain hardly knows the full details himself."

After speaking those words he realized he could have a bit gentler responding to the question but at least he would not upset her. It was time to divert the attention to a new subject.

"I don't believe you've explored the whole area. It is quite a magical sight and I would not think I would be a great host unless I showed you around."

He abruptly sat up and gestured with his arm towards the door.
PostPosted: Fri Oct 16, 2009 4:28 pm

"All right," Ash raised her hands in mock defeat, but her eyes danced, discerning Auri's discomfort and letting the topic drop. "Touchy subjects. Don't have to tell me twice,"

She rose complacently as Auri gestured towards the door. It was clear to her that he wished to divert her attention with a bit of a tour around the place, and she'd let him. Her interest in his project was by no means diminished, but she felt as though she had gotten as much information out of him as we was willing to divulge. The rest she'd have to figure out on her own. The idea of discovering his projects presented an interesting challenge for her.

"Now, by all means," She said with a smile. "Show my around your little paradise, here,"

He was undecided as whether to show the hill that surveyed all the land or the cavern. He realized how good it felt to finally open up to someone allowing his choice to become clear. He would show the cavern and a bit of his story.

"Please, follow me."

He led her past the brush along a steep slope of moss covered rocks. A small current flowed gently down, finding passage in between each rock. As they reached the peak he grabbed her arm and led her through the small passage that forced both to bend tilt their heads forward.

Once inside the place Kinsetsu felt a bit nervous as to what she may think. The oil candles presented a full image of the area. Each wall was covered with hyroglyphic images. Images he had drawn himself. Many of the images displayed a constant character with different eyes. Some had eyes similar to his with a grouping of individuals having drawn swords towards it. One particular image was a large eye itself that as an Iris displayed a cosmic picture((this picture is similar to one in profile)). Beyond the walls in the far end of the cavern was a library of books. Any scientific knowledge one wished to learn could be found in these books. Beside that sat the desk that had been use greatly for him to put down his thoughts on paper, including the storage of his personal journal that told his story.

He let her walk to stand slightly before him while placing his hand gently on her shoulder.

"This is my paradise."
