Recently I picked up "My Japanese Coach" for the DS.
And so far it's been fun, but sence it's SO extensive, I doubt that I'll ever be able to add it to the "completed games" list that I keep.
Mainly because the game contains the entire japanese dictionary and over 1000 lessons to practice with. That's quite a workload if you ask me.
But sence it's fun, I expect to not get too frustrated with it. (except maybe the "trace the japanese character" game - that one will probably drive me bonkers)
I'll be spelling them according to the game - so if you think I might have spelled it wrong, then argue with the game, not me - please! Also, if you can't see the hiragana corectly, then you need to install your operating systems japanese language pack. AND if you want to see the hiragana more closely, copy and paste it into "MS-paint" (for a windows OS that is) under the largest "text" setting. Highlight the word in [] to see the english meaning.
Pronunciation Link, this one seems ok. http://www.people.fas.harvard.edu/~bestor/easy_pronunciation.htm Hiragana Text. (keep in mind that writing and pronunciation change sometimes when the symbols are put together) http://www.guidetojapanese.org/hiragana.html Good Japanese word translator. http://www.animelab.com/anime.manga/dictionary/

purpleravenhawk Do you think you're gonna teach somebody here? confused This is just for me really. If someone wants to watch, then that's their choice. I realize that, most likely anyway, no one will give a crap about it.

I was going to post audio recordings of the game as it says the words, but apparently games copyright their audio files and purple says I can't post links.
Even if I just recorded it, and didn't rip the game itself. They're such... [you get the idea]
(sorry, binary and l337 allows one to curse and not get in trouble)

Actually, and I'm not trying to sound like a total b***h here...but it's actually against the rules to curse in those types of languages because Gaia's filter cannot filter them.
Rules about that....

'Fraid she's right. sweatdrop By the rules of gaia, it's better to curse (as long as you don't take it too far) in English so that the word filtering system can filter it. By the rules of purple, however, if you need to say something so vulgar, you probably need to expand your vocabulary, you discommodious jackanape. xd
Sorry, that's a bit strong. I was just trying to show an example. sweatdrop
