OMG I JUST FOUND OUT THAT ONE OF OUR MELLEPHONE PLAYERS HAS SWINE FLU!!! he wont be able to play in the band any longer. Luckily they didn't shut down the school because of him, but yeah, he was diagnosed with swine flu last week. has it happened to anyone else you know??

Swine Flu is all over the place. Even my town, which is in the middle of the nowhere has Swine Flu.

It's not that big of a deal, really. I got swine flu, and the only reason I had it so badly was because I hadn't been getting enough sleep and I was run-down.
They're not gonna shut down schools for it, or anything, really, because they finally realized that it's not going to kill anyone.

Last year we had a clarinet who had it. He's doing fine now.

It was passed around our band a bit this year too. I think that at our last football game we had 5 members of the band with swine flu. I know at least one of them marched the show since he was the trumpet soloist. It was probably the only part of the show that he played. Devin is pretty dedicated like that.
That's really sad that he can't be in the band anymore. I mean, I can understand not being allowed to come to school till it's passed but kicking him out of the band seems a little extreme. And I doubt they would close down the school.
And yeah, I do believe it has killed people but so has the normal strand of the flu. Swine flu isn't any worse than the regular flu except that it's a different strand than what we're used to. Those who are killed by it would probably have been killed by the regular flu as well because their bodies weren't strong enough to fight it off.

I know no one who has it nor have I had it.
But we had a scare when my cousin had pnemonia. He's 14 {he'll be 15 this month sometime}.

lol. every year someone gets mono.
last year it was our mellophone section leader, which sucked. she was so nice.
this year it's a flute freshman. she sucks at marching and playing, so it doesn't really hurt us. when she comes back she has to learn all the drill though. (it's been 2 months.)

Not sure if it was swine flu, but our band had a nice strand of colds or something similar. It spread like wildfire. at one point we couldn't go 2 seconds without someone coughing. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who didn't get sick. Funny thing is, even my sis got the same thing, who goes to a completely different school and isn't in band. yet i didnt get it

All of my closest friends had it. I may have had it, since I spent all weekend in bed. Who knows. It's not that bad, though, I heard it's exactly like the regular flu.

Swine flu has hit my small town i live in. Last week we had ALOT of ppl out. like 2 of my classes no one was there
