Is it just me, or does it seem like more and more vampire stuff has been released since Twilight (i.e. books, movies, television, etc...) Because when I walk into Barnes and Noble half the teen books they have on their nice little display table seem to be about vampires. Honestly I think Twilight has ruined peoples perspectives on vampires. I mean HELLO!!!! What happened to all the classic vampire stories?? Or the amazing movies?? Does anyone else think this? If so, share your ideas!

It's called "jumping on the bandwagon", sadly -_-

I think there might be some good stuff out there, even among the teen romance genre (a genre I mostly detest, except maybe among manga)... you just have to look and not let the awfulness of Twilight get you down and make you think that Vampires have gone to s**t. There is plenty out there with kickass vampires, plot, and more that I'm sure those hungering for real vampires have'nt read heart
But some of it is'ent jumping the bandwagon... for example, Vampire Diaries and The Southern Vampire series were both released in 1991 and 2001 (respectively), as well as Vampire Kisses (2003)... it's just that the shitstorm that is Twilight exploded and now everything Vampire is just, like, the coolest, guyz!

*sigh*At least Busch Gardens slightly remembers how they are, vampires are part of their Halloween themed nightpark that they have every year.Total ripoff of Halloween Horror Nights, but still, at least they're tryin'.

I think that's pretty sad. People are only reading this terrible book because it's so popular. Teenage girls should be reading actual literature, where they can learn stuff. Because let's face it, Twilight is one of books/series that has next to nothing when it comes to life values, and the Twilight series honestly requires NO thinking what-so-ever.

stressed Twilight is annoying...and it does seem to be the only reason why B&N is dragging the Vampire/Witch/Demon books out in my store. On the upside I converted a semi twitward by pointing out the keen factors of abuse, incest, and *****... blaugh Go me!

Keine Scheisse.
And I loved Vampires before it became some stupid fad started by Twilight. So I'm doubly pissed about it.
But yeah, promotion of Twilight and other Vamp stories at bookstores, all the new movies and shows that "coincidentally" have to do with Vampires, even the story-rape of the movie adaptation of the manwha Priest to include vampires. I mean, producers and writers saw the rabid screaming of the Twitards and how Meyer's series took off and they said, hey, demand for Vampires just went up, we must up the supply.
So when you think about it, it is basic supply/demand...But still so frackin' aggrevating.

You're right, but I think True Blood is doing a good job of bringing vampires back!
