In some areas, common police officers are considered public enemies. Not because they're bad or anything, but some kids only see police officers in person when they're about to arrest a friend or family member. This can cause them to grow up with a natural hatred of police officers, due to their childhood personal experience with them. I'm guessing that to some people, Lawyers can be seen in the same light.
Just thought I'd throw that in. May shed some light as to why Singh might have acted as such.

Hugo Lane, attorney at law ~
I think Doctor Singh is just working off the normal "lawyer = slimy b*****d" stereotype. I like her, but she seems so have difficulty understanding certain concepts - such as a child may need love and caring attention, or not all lawyers are greedy snakes.
EDIT:

Heheh... sweatdrop
Somehow, I doubt that she'd be any happier with the real Pheonix Wright. xD

...Ya know...I'm sorry to say this...but I'm quickly developing a deep spitefull loathing for this NPC. And I use the word loathing very sparingly...but...just about everything about her is despiseable...SHe has very few, if any redeeming traits. There have been very few times where she has done anything selfless for Timmy...She is self-centered and very conceited...and I'm starting to rant here so I'll stop here...

Yeah, I never really liked the good Dr. from the get-go...
And really, all she has done is make me hate her more with every sentance that she utters that doesn't involve the EI's. -_-
Urg...

Aw, so much hate for Singh. emo
I really like her - or rather, I like how the person writing the EI reports uses her character. She's so casually nasty. And, in other circumstances, her hostility towards the lawyer may be justified.

Quote: Dr. Singh: Oh! I'm terribly sorry, Hugo, I just have a difficult time suppressing my natural loathing of lawyers. I'm sure you understand, you lying son of a reptile. I'm assuming something happened to her that involved lawyers, which explains her "natural loathing." I guess I don't really blame her. I don't like lawyers very much either. XP

Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if Singh and her brother have been entangled in legal proceedings before... I figure Doc has had run-ins with G-corp, and has had numerous charges of child endangerment brought against her. As for her brother, I can only imagine the sea of restraining orders he has to wade through every day.

I have to be honest--I saw the lawyer, and I thought "Hey, he looks cool. Maybe he can replace Timmy for a while."
But that's obviously not going to work out now.

When I first saw Esquire I thought Timmy had been "reformed" in the joint and came out looking like that. But my thoughts fell short and the interview further peeved me.
