Adventure was her game. She thought as she moved threw the land. Trees here and there. The grass was slowly turning brown from yellow. Rain had come a few days ago, making the land rather humid and unbearable at times. She was moving the way her paws would carry her though. No questions asked to her feet, even if she thought they could reply back to her if she asked.

Her gray eyes watched her feet as she moved, as if wondering if they might actually answer her. She wasn't the brightest out there, in fact, she was rather stupid. Happy, and cheerful, but stupid. Mean if she wanted to be. She had her snappy moments. Today was a good day, or at least she thought so. Apart for the heat that the humidity had brought on. The clouds above in the sky, no sun showing. Yet it felt as if the sun was blazing down upon her orange, black, blue, and white body.

Adventure was his game. Last night’s rain refreshed the land. Hero remembered sitting under a tree, catching the water that fell through the leafs with his tongue, closing his eyes and admiring the sound of the rain beating against the earth. Beautiful music. Now with all the rain dried up he wandered in search of a watering hole, for many must have been filled during the night and Hero was in need of a refreshing drink – not just tiny morsels of water dripping on his tongue. As he walked he looked at the grey sky and grumbled to himself, “What a rotten day.”

Hero enjoyed the rareness of the rain. Rain made the world feel alive. But Hero disapproved of cloudy days when no rain came. Clouds are tantalizing for their promises yet often fail to deliver. They also made the world seem gloomier somehow, as if a cherished friend had unexpectedly passed away. His amethyst eyes scanned the clouds reprehensibly. He looked out of place in this muck, a malcontent ray of sunshine and cherry blossoms in a melancholy world.

To cheer himself up, he started to sing a little song. Hero often composed songs to stave off loneliness while he was wandering. This was a simple ditty about a youthful sun god who tricks his brother, the cloud god, into filling in for him while he runs off to play. Knowing that the gods might be listening, not to mention curious mortals, Hero was careful not to sing too loudly.

Manorama was oblivious to the soon encounter with the singing male. She herself didn't sing, but hummed. Though, today she wasn't. Nope. She was just searching for someone, anyone. Weather it a bug, or a elephant. She didn't care. She hopped every two feet when she moved giving the day a bit more fun. She liked adding a little fun into things.

"Why hello clouds" She spoke as she looked up at the sky. She, on the other hand, loved clouds. They were pretty, she wanted to touch them. She use to image her self with wings of some sort to where she could fly, but she figured that'd never happen. She didn't believe in gods, so that option was off.

Hero’s voice slowly faded out as the orange shape came into view. He crept closer and started to smirk. So it was a female. As he watched the smirk slowly became a smile, a tickled grin much different from the mischievous kind of smile he wore when he went hunting for tail. Watching her made him feel like he was watching a cub chase butterflies. She seemed completely innocent and pure.

“Well hello there, miss. What are you dancing around for?” he purred, approaching her with friendly curiosity. He rarely found such playful lionesses out here in the rogue lands. The gods loved to test the metal of the naive.

Manorama was anything but pure and innocent. Sure she had her moments, but not very often. A voice flew threw her ears that made her jerk her head. Something delightful filled her eyes. He was just as bright as she! His orange coat was what interested her most about him. Though the pink wasn't too bad either. She gave a slight grin as she turned full towards him now. " Well I was dancing for you" She spoke with a grin. Almost evil, yet flirtatious.

Though, in reality, she didn't even realize she was dancing at all. She was talking to the clouds above. Some had told her before that the gods lived up there. Rubbish.... Until she saw one herself, she didn't believe they existed.

“Oh, really? Don’t stop now,” Hero chuckled. He wasn’t sure what to make of her. Her dancing looked so light and carefree, like a cub dodging raindrops on a dizzily day, yet her voice sounded throaty and seductive.

Perhaps she was simply a female of contradictions. Hero understood that. He could be a bit of a contradiction himself. “What’s your name?”

"Well now you have me flabbergasped. I don't think I can dance anymore!" she said so easily. Of course, that wasn't at all the truth. She was just toying with him now. To see what he would do. Most males could be overly flirtatious... She was just wondering how long it took too make them that way. Without really knowing that she too, could fall under her own trap.

"Manorama." She said with a wink. "Strange, yes, but strange can be good" She said with a light giggle. She wasn't sure if it was strange or not. She had heard worse names then hers. She kinda liked her name. Meant happiness she though... Though she had long forgotten if that was the true one... Tomorrow it could mean something else to her.

“Heh, you’d have to be a dancer with a name as beautiful as that. Names have their own rhythm you know. They’re like music. Some names roll off the tongue like water, others like sand; some bounce like raindrops and others fall flat like stones. You know what Manorama sounds like to me? A bright ray of sunshine dancing on water.” Cheesy, but some females ate that stuff up. It was just another random musing he came up with ages ago to entertain himself during his long, lonely wanderings and now pulled out on a whim to impress somebody – or maybe not. He was never afraid of looking like a fool.

He smiled, moving closer. “My name is Hero, but I’m not much of one. Come on, you must have one more dance left in you.”

She could buy what he was saying about names and such and music. But she really wasn't interested in that. No, she was interested in him, not her. Who cared if she could be a dancer of sometime, that was only for today anyways. She always changed what she was from day to day. Tomorrow, she could be some type of singer... Even though she didn't sing too well. She just gave him a giggle as he finished talking. "My... You talk a lot, don't you." She said not even paying attention of all of what he had said about her.

"Just Hero, or is there more to it? Hero is some strange name if you ask me." She looked at him and gave him a wink. "Plus, who'd want to be a hero. A hero is someone who gets other's killed." She said with a nod. "I'm afraid you scared my dance out of me." she added as she stuck her tongue out at him childishly.

There was more to his name, but Manorama would never hear the other half unless she could tease it out of him. If Manorama was a dancer then Heroetifu had two left feet and an infected toe. Hero detested the meaning of his name too much to give it out lightly. He only told that goddess because he assumed she would have known if he lied.

He offered her an airy shrug. “I don’t believe in heroes, personally. I could be the greatest savior this savannah has ever seen but the antelope would still call me a terrorist.” He winked back. “The only person I care about out here is myself. If somebody doesn’t like it, well, that’s their business. You ever met one of those self-righteous fellows before? They’ll get all up in your face and spit up a storm, thunder and lightning, about how you don’t fit into their precious definition of morality and then expect you to feel bad about the way you’ve been acting. Oh, I’m so ashamed! You know what I call folks like that? Chronic masturbators.”

"Awww.... You don't care about me? Well I think I feel a tear coming on." She said teasing him a bit. At least he was honest, she supposed, though she was kinda hurt. Trying not to lose his interest, she tried to cap her hurt part for now. If he kept on it, she didn't think she could handle it much longer.

"Other's tend to stay far away from me, so I don't meet anyone like that." She giggled. Sometimes she cried over that, but today it didn't seem to be a problem. No, today her attention was only having him like her. No one else mattered. He was handsome, and flirtatious... and just a nice guy.

“Well they don’t know what they’re missing,” he chimed. Whether she was a good actress or just too good looking, Hero didn’t pick up on her feelings. When he paid attention he could see under a person’s surface almost as easily as a fish underwater. Manorama was a blinding light in his eyes.

“I spend a lot of time alone, too. My last real friend died almost a year ago. He took me under his wing, showed me how to be a lion; the only real father I ever had. Now he’s gone and I just wander. It’s not all bad though. At least we have our freedom.”

She gasped "He had wings? I meet a god who had wings... He was cold to the touch... Almost like ice. He said he was the god of ice." She told him forgetting about anything else that he had said. She thought it was rather interesting that more then just Tarik had wings. She looked at him with a smile. She wasn't really one that cared about death, didn't really pity those who died or who lost ones who died. To her, it was nothing tragic, but life. Living threw stuff like that was how it was. "Was he a god too?" She asked him.

At first the sudden leap in conversation startled him. As Manorama talked he started to smile. By the time she finished his eyes glowed with warmth. She seemed so sweet. Yet she was not so sweet that he felt like he a thief of innocence; the perfect mixture of fiendishness and delight. Hell, the perfect woman.

Hero wasn’t one to lie. Truth is often stranger, as they say. Lying didn’t come naturally to him either. Anyone who paid attention could hear him thinking between his words when he tried to spin fictions on the spot. But in this case he couldn’t help himself. All he wanted was to please her. “Yes, he was. He took me above the clouds once.”

He hoped she would believe him if he made his story fantastic enough. There are some things people just want to believe because it makes them happy. Hero wanted to see her happy. If she saw through his story he could always play it off as a light-hearted joke.

The truth was anything, in Manorama's eyes. She had no truth to what she said, yet no lies either. Some things that weren't real, she thought they were. Somethings that never happened, did to her. Though the god thing she was most surly it did happen. "Oh... I didn't ask Tarik if he could take me in the clouds.... See, I'd probably freeze touching him." She thought about it. Yep... She'd most likely freeze to death just being too close to him. "What was he god of? Or did he not tell you?"

Rama was full of questions, that's for sure. No matter who she ran into, a million questions came out sooner or later. Which she didn't even care if they did or didn't. It was useless knowledge she was after.
