Yeah, they are. Time Lords have what, a dozen regenerations, so 13 lives? If David was #10, Smith only has 2 people after him...

Yup. They will have other actors to pick for the last 2 then it's over I guess. A shame.

Yep, it will be interesting to see what they do. They may end it or they may concoct some crazy scheme to continue it.

Well, there have been several strange occurances in Doctor Who, so it's all together possible that the series will continue. I seem to recall a granddaughter at some point... Ah well, a timelord's work is never done.

i've been wracking the fading braincells here trying to remember, but the limit was put in place by the council dudes because after so many regenerations, their dna began to become unstable, right? they could still find a way around that in the storyline somewhere, and there IS whassername, the girl from the cloning machine thing that they were calling the doctor's daughter, she just kind of vanished into space somewhere. my opinion is that there'll always be a doctor of some sort, as long as there's fans, and as long as the BBC can milk a cash cow for all its worth. oooh, ooh, and there's always the fantard's way out: rose and doppleganger-doctor have a kid, he becomes an alternate timeline doctor, and one day finds a way to cross over... (and no, i swear that i haven't done that in a fanfic already like a billion others have by now... what, me, fanfic? nooo, i would never... okay, i did, but you can't read it, it has doc-jr/jack yaoi, and explosions, and it's 27 chapters and still not done, so there, no fic for you.) xp

I still havn't see the Start Treck movie. I want to though.
I'm sure there will be a way around it, It just seems they are going through the doctor's re-gens awfully quick latley too.
