Running between Viridian City and Pewter City this route takes the trainer through the Viridian Forest, which can only be skipped when a Trainer has received HM CUT. All encounters will take place in the Viridian Forest, but you may role play walking along this route if you wish. A lookout station marks the entrance and exit of the forest on each side.
