In this guild Pokemon battles will be handled with a dice rolling system.
You get ONE CHANCE TO ROLL THE DICE. DO NOT DELETE YOUR POST AFTER YOU HAVE ROLLED. (We can check the guild log it tells us if anyone has done this. Deleting your post will earn you warning.) In all battle situations you will roll ONE TWENTY SIDED DIE.

Each thread will have a list of outcomes depending or the number you roll. Refer to his list to complete an action.

WILD POKEMON BATTLES

Wild pokemon battle take place in tall grass on the Routes between cities.

Each route has it's own thread and in the first post of each thread will be a list of Pokemon and their LVLs, you can catch in that area.

FOR EXAMPLE:
Quote:

Viridean Forest

Required encounters: 2

    Wild Pokemon encounter list:
    1-6,: Caterpie (LVL 5)
    7-12,19: Weedle (LVL 5)
    13,14: Metapod (LVL 7)
    15,16: Kakuna (LVL 7)
    17: Roll for item
    18: Caterpie (LVL 6)
    19: Weedle (LVL 6)
    20: Pikachu (LVL 5)

This example post shows you what Pokemon will show up depending on your roll.

So the first thing you do is roleplay an entry of you walking into tall grass, on this post you also roll ONE Twenty Sided Die.

FOR EXAMPLE:
(You will need to select the "ROLL DICE" post action and select the 20 sided from the dice menu, as well as writing "1" in the space for number of dice. Your result will show up on your post.)
Quote:
Professor Oak walked out into the forest, he was looking for a new type of Pokemon to add to his Pokedex. He stepped into the wild grass.

I rolled a 4 as you can see in the previous post so the pokemon I will get, if we look at the list again...

Wild Pokemon encounter list:
1-6,: Caterpie (LVL 5)
PKMN Professor Oak rolled 1 20-sided dice: 11 Total: 11 (1-20)

In this post I will send out any Pokemon I choose from my party and roll the 20 sided die to battle it.
Quote:
It's a level 5 Caterpie!

Professor Oak grabs a pokebal from his coat and hurls it at the wild Pokemon. "BULBASAUR! I CHOOSE YOU!" Bulbasaur appears in a flash of red light and the battle begins!

In this post I rolled an 11

Let's see what this means...

Wild encounters are meant to be short so you will only roll the dice twice in one encounter, Once to decide the Pokemon and once to see if you win.

To do this you roll the 20 sided die again and compare your result to this chart.
Quote:
Quote:

If your Pokemon's level is 15 more than the opponent's you win.
If your Pokemon's level matches the opponent's: Roll a 5 or higher
If your Pokemon's level is under 5 less the opponent's: Roll a 6 or higher
If your Pokemon's level is 5 less than the opponent's: Roll a 10 or higher
If your Pokemon's level is 10 less than the opponent's: Roll a 15 or higher
anything below 15 levels beneath you opponent loses automatically.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES!!!

SOME POKEMON TYPES HAVE ADVANTAGES OVER OTHER TYPES

THESE ARE:
WATER>FIRE
GRASS>WATER
FIRE>GRASS
WATER>ROCK
ROCK>ELECTRIC
ELECTRIC>WATER

THOSE ARE THE ONLY ONES WE WILL USE. NO OTHERS

If your Pokemon has the advantage over another type you may add TWO POINTS to your dice roll AGAINST IT IN BATTLE. Make sure to make a note of this in you battle post.

LIKEWISE if your Pokemon is WEAK to the opposing Pokemon subtract Two from your roll.

My Bulbasaur is level 5, the same as the Caterpie so I need to roll a 5 or high to win.

And 11 therefore, means I win.

I may now capture this pokemon, If I choose or continue on my jorney.

If you want to capture a pokemon you need to make a new rope play post saying you've captured it, YOU MUST HAVE A POKEBALL IN YOUR INVENTORY TO DO THIS.

NPC (TRAINER/GYM LEADER) BATTLES

These battles will take place in the same way as the Wild battles

BUT

you will repeat the steps for each Pokemon the trainer has.

If you LOSE to a NPC's Pokemon the pokemon you used in that battle has fainted. It is out of play for the rest of the battle. And if your Pokemon faints you may not reuse that Pokemon in the same battle UNLESS you have a REVIVE ITEM. You may get it healed at the Pokecenter after the battle is over.

If all your pokemon faint you lose the battle and are sent to the Pokecenter.

If you win you will receive a money prize from a trainer or a badge from a Gym Leader. (Money and Badges should be recorded in Player Profiles.

BATTLES AGAINST OTHER ROLE PLAYERS

At the moment Battles with other trainers will be fought in this manner:

UUHM

The challenger must send out the pokemon first(, they also attack first).
Quote:
Challenger sends out Bulbasaur (LVL 5) (HP 12/12)

Quote:
Opponent sends out Pikachu (LVL 6) (HP 14/14)

the challenger will now roll 1 6 sided die to determine damage done.
Quote:
Challenger (ROLLS A 4)
Bulbasaur (LVL 5) (HP 12/12) ATTACKS

The opponent needs to subtract the damage done from their Pokemon's HP now. They may attack with a 6 sided die now as well.
Quote:
Opponent (ROLLS A 6
Pikachu is hit(LVL 6) (HP 10/14)
Pikachu ATTACKS

Quote:
Challenger (ROLLS A 3)
Bulbasaur is hit!(LVL 5) (HP 6/12)
Bulbasaur ATTACKS!

Quote:
Opponent (ROLLS A 6)
Pikachu is hit!(LVL 6) (HP 7/14)

AT THIS POINT BULBASAUR HAS FAINTED. THE OPPONENT WINS, THE CHALLENGER MAY NOT ROLL, UNLESS THEY HAVE ANOTHER POKEMON TO SEND OUT.
Quote:
Challenger (ROLLS A 6)
Bulbasaur is hit!(LVL 5) (HP 0/12)
Bulbasaur has fainted!
Challenger Sends out Squirtle (LVL 5) (12/12 HP)
Squirtle ATTACKS!

Quote:
Opponent (ROLLS A 5)
Pikachu is hit!(LVL 6) (HP 1/14)
Pikachu ATTACKS! (+2 Type advantage)

You may notice Pikachu's type (electric) is strong to Squirtle's type (water)
In a Player VS PLayer battle the two bonus points will be added to the attack roll (So D6 + 2)
Note how the player adds a note to remind the challenger of the added points. If you do not add this to your post your opponent can ignore the advantage.
Quote:
Challenger (ROLLS A 3)
Squirtle is hit!(LVL 5) (HP 5/12)
Squirtle ATTACKS!

Quote:
Opponent
Pikachu is hit!(LVL 6) (HP 0/14)
Pikachu has fainted
I have no more pokemon.

And the Challenger wins.

Pokemon level 1-20 shall roll a 6 sided die.
Pokemon level 21-30 shall roll a 8 sided die.
Pokemon level 31-40 shall roll a 10 sided die.
Pokemon level 41-50 shall roll a 12 sided die.
Pokemon level 51-70 shall roll a 20 sided die.
Pokemon level 71-100 shall roll a 100 sided die.

LEVELING UP

Quote:
Pokemon UNDER level 20 will level up after winning TWO battles.
You are expected to keep track of this yourself.

Pokemon OVER level 20 will gain a level every THREE wins.

Pokemon Over lever 40 will gain a level every FOUR wins.

Pokemon Over lever 60 will gain a level every FIVE wins.

Pokemon Over lever 80 will gain a level every SIX wins.

A WIN is a defeat over a SINGLE pokemon. So beating a trainer with three Pokemon means three wins

There is no switching Pokemon Mid Battle. The only way a Pokemon can leave a battle is by fainting.
