This is a set of questions I feel need to be answered.

First off, how early would you reserve your hotel for Sakura Con?
Second, do you pre-register or do you pay at the door?
How do you normally get to Sakura Con?
What are your favorite places to eat?
How many people do you normally go with?

If you are new to Sakura Con just say what you expect to be doing. ^_^

First off, how early would you reserve your hotel for Sakura Con?

I'm thinking of reserving in December. The reason for this is because one of my friends who has been going for years says it is always good to get it early because people will want the hotel closest to the convention center. Some people reserve as soon as November! That is too early for me.

usually a week after they announce they got hotel i reserve a room at the Grand Hyatt. the best hotel ever in my opinion biggrin .
I always pre-register its cheaper then at the door and there isn't a really big line when u get ur badge. my favorite place to eat is Piroshky Piroshky , its in pike place market. it a small shop but the food is great.

I hear that Grand Hyatt is very nice. I plan to pre-reg too, I definitely do not want to wait in that giant line again. I think I've hear of Piroshky's, I might be thinking of something else though. Maybe I'll check that out. ^_^

I hear that there is a place that serves ramen there so I definitely want to go there and have REAL ramen. I just want to see what all that fuss Naruto makes it about.

I usually go with my staff... me being a coordinator and all... so I used to pre-reg either at the convention or within a few weeks after the convention to get the best price...

I reserve a hotel fairly early. I prefer the Sheraton more than any of the rest. After a long day I like having the least effort to get back to my room and to me it seems the closest with no hills and a very helpful staff. I reserve it normally in December January.

Living as close as I do to the convention center (I live 25 min away) we drive. Most people wonder why I eve get a room living so close, but really at 1am leaving I don't want to drive. It saves me an hour just daily prep having a room... plus I have a place to stash stuff for easy access and change shower etc.

I eat subway, cheesecake factory, and hotel sack foods...

Oh, yes the Cheesecake Factory is magical. I believe my crew is staying at the Sheraton aswell. Perhaps we'll see you there. ^_^

I live close as well but my friends and I just get a hotel. I don't like driving when I'm super sleepy very dangerous ><
I usually get a hotel once they announce them, which is the Sheraton
I pre-reg at con. Last con my friend made the mistake and did not pre reg they waited in line for 7 hours. I made sure that she pre reged this time!
I like eating at the crepe place very good hehe or we have a night at the cheesecake factory
I have a few friends that go, sometimes we tend to be a bit scattered about

This is a set of questions I feel need to be answered.

First off, how early would you reserve your hotel for Sakura Con?
Second, do you pre-register or do you pay at the door?
How do you normally get to Sakura Con?
What are your favorite places to eat?
How many people do you normally go with?

If you are new to Sakura Con just say what you expect to be doing. ^_^

Only got to go one year, but as a Seattle native, I'll try to help.

"First off, how early would you reserve your hotel for Sakura Con?"
As early as you can. Though you can get some good deals the week of, you don't want to get stuck out in the cold. Of course, you could also contact friends who live nearby. An hour commute isn't unreasonable around here.

"Second, do you pre-register or do you pay at the door?"
For the love of all that is good, pre-reg if you can! It is cheeper, the lines will be shorter and you don't have to worry about picking a day to go, just pre-reg for the whole con.

"How do you normally get to Sakura Con?"
If you are from out of town, get a hotel and walk. If your hotel is farther away, take the bus.
If you are a native, take the bus. Carpool if you have to drive. Seattle traffic can be brutal.

"What are your favorite places to eat?"
Eat breakfast before you leave, pack a lunch. Then all you have to worry about is Dinner. There are tons of places to eat if you are willing to walk around a bit or take a bus. Westlake has a good foodcourt, as does Seattle Center. Seattle Center is my favorite, you can hit the food court, which has a bit of everything, or the classic fast food joints in the area. If you like to make food and have access to a kitchen, Pike's Place Market is a great place to get fresh stuff, and has great snacks too.

"How many people do you normally go with?"
I would never go alone to a con. The year I went there were four or five of us, but I was on staff so I don't know if that really counts. Never walk around in Seattle alone during the day unless you know where you are going. And never EVER EVER walk around after dark by yourself. Trust me.

First off, how early would you reserve your hotel for Sakura Con?
as early as possible the closer the hotel is to the convention center

Second, do you pre-register or do you pay at the door?
pre-register is easier and cheaper.

How do you normally get to Sakura Con?
This is my first time there. But I will be flying in and then my friends and I will be driving up.

What are your favorite places to eat?
Places that are close and quick. Never eat AT the convention center.

How many people do you normally go with?
A huge group, my group will consist of 6 people.

3nodding Sounds like some good plans guys! ^_^ The most important piece of advice it to be prepared. Even for being suddenly unprepared. The first year I went, we didn't pre-reg, we didn't get a hotel or a place to stay at all, we got to the con a day late, and it was awful. We still somehow had fun but we didn't sleep or eat for two days. X_X That was terrible. We learned our lesson and now because of our mistakes we know what not to do. XD As I always say, "If you cannot serve as a good example; you will serve as a warning to others." xp

Big tip is to keep an eye and manage your money x.x I made that mistake and spent my food money D: I lived off of donated food and ice all weekend when I was at a con.

Now I separate it: Friday spending, Saturday spending, Sunday spending, Food.

or just pack a bunch of quick cheep food (granola bars, jerky, ramen if you have a hotel) and spend all your money... bringing food may be less healthy, but It's way cheaper.
