Ka'dairihn ran a hand down the smooth surface of the rather ordinary looking journal and then glanced over at the other. He had bought what he had been told were magical journals. What the proprieter at the magical wares tent had told him as that the journals would send correspondence back and forth to each other.

Ka'da had been skeptical at first, until the male had pulled out a pen and had demonstrated them to him. It was a rather marvelous and spectacular thing when he had opened the second book and read exactly what the other had written inside. He had purchased the pair of journals, spending the last of his funds on them. It had been a rather pricey sum, but Ka'da figured it was a good deal in the long run, especially when Yallinda would be overjoyed when he sent her the gift.

Of course, he would have to wait until she got one of the books before he wrote anything. Otherwise someone might glance inside and read what he had written and pass along the information that Ka'da was writing to the new healer of the House. he really didn't want to put her under suspicion or have the matron keeping an eye on her more than would be normal.

the servant he had sent for knocked on the door and Ka'da got to his feet and walked over and opened the door.
"Deliver this to the new healer of the House would you? It's for her to keep records in of who she heals and what items she uses up." Ka'da said simply.

The servant nodded, taking the book and disappeared to deliver it to Yallinda. Ka'da waited for a moment before he followed after the servant, slipping the journal's mate into his belt. He wanted to make sure that it was delivered straight to Yallinda so he could write a note to her so she knew exactly what the book was for.

Ugh. If tending to the brutes and morons of the caravan had been exhausting then Yallinda had never known a days true work until now. The frustrating thing was, the work came in the act of subserviance and differment to the House Nobles. If she had not been convinced that this was her best shot at obtaining a nobles rank Yallinda would have let loose her tongue in a manner befitting a priestess. Well, as much a priestess she was. There were many times that Yallinda had cursed the priestess that had overseen her training. Uppity snobby bitchs! The daughters of this House reminded her of those females so much that it made her feel ill having to smile and nod polietly to them What she really wanted to doo was slip some bloodroot into their tea and wait to see if the explosion of sharp leaved growth would make them burst into little blood dolls before devouring them. She dared not though.

Sighing, Yallinda dropped her healers bag onto her bed and flopped down onto it. This..this was what she was suffering for. She reminded herself as she looked about the room. A plush bed. heavy covers. A clean stable stone room with pretty furniture and a soft carpet under her delicate feet. For the sake of luxury she sacrificed her pride. But not for long. Someday she'd be able to put those snivling whiney creatures in their place. She'd no longer have to tend every scrape and cut of the House. She'd be able to focus on becomeing a proper priestess. Sacrifices and training her own priestesses! Ah what a day that would be! A knock on her door disrupted her blissful daydreaming of actually being the one to give orders rather then taking them. Sliding her red eyes to the door, she gave it a ugly and unhappy look, then rolled off the bed to traipse over to the door. Yallinda paused and reached a hand up to tuck her braids into place before she pulled the door open.

She had expected to see one of the daughters, come to complain about what Yallinda suspected was a fake ailment just to annoy her and waste her time. her false smile faded as she looked at the servant.

"I am delivering a record book for your services healer." The servant replied as he held the book out to her.

"Oh...a book. how nice." She responded as she took the journal. With one hand she made a shooing motion to the servant, and with the other she turned the book about to inspect the binding. Well, she supposed it would look more efficient of her if she started to write down all the things she was doing. Plus...perhaps if she started recording all the stupid little things the daughters came to her with they would see she was recording it and stop. The last thing they'd want is their mother thinking they were sickly right? Yallinda closed the door and crossed over to her bed. It seemed a rather nice journal too, she was rather surprised that such a nice journal had been picked out for her. Someone had some taste hmm? Chuckleing to herself she opened the book to rifle through the pages to inspect the paper inside. It had a nice smooth quality too. Yes...this had to be the perk of being in a nobles house indeed!

Ka'dairihn waited for several moments, until he figured the book had been delivered and Yallinda was looking it over. Then he pulled a quill out, dabbed it in an inkpot and began to write in short flourishes.

Yallinda my love, how do you like your gift?
I happened to find these books in a magical wares tent, when I learned that they allow two people to send secret messages back and forth, I figured it would be a great way to keep in touch during the time I'm away.
I really wish that this venture didn't require my attentions, but I can't really back out of it since the Matron requested me to go on it.
I shall miss you dear Yallinda...and I shall remain always and fondly yours.

The book was new, and for a short period of time it really held Yallinda's interest. But it was only a blank journal and there was really only so many blank pages one could look at before growing bored.

Yallinda bored very easily.

She began to close the book, when the sight of scrawled script made her pause. Wasn't the first page blank? She could have sworn it had bee. Blinking her red eyes, Yallinda smoothed the pages out before her and looked on in curiousity as words manifested before her. In short order her boredome and curiousity melted away into pure delight. She reached into her nearby healers bag and pulled from it a slender purple dyed quill and a small pot of pink tinted ink. Dipping the quill within, she eagerly wrote in response to the letters that appeared before her.

Rihn, darling! I am absolutly delighted by your gift. I was pleased enough with having a journal to write in all the little annoyances I tended to on a daily basis, but this is a far better gift!

I do hope you will keep safe, where ever you may be going to. I have been so busy keeping up with the demands of the House I've barely had time to myself it seems! Your sisters are such demanding little pests! I swear they whine pitifully over every possible bruise just to test my skills and patcience.

I miss you terribly my sweet Rihn. If it were not for the possibility of being able to be with you I swear to the Goddess I would have left this place already. Do stay safe and well...or maybe not so well. If you get hurt on the way back at least we shall have an excuse to meet.

- Hopefully yours, Yallinda

Ka'da was pleased when Yallinda began to write back only a few moments later. He eagerly read the words as they appeared in the journal. Gods..he had forgotten what a delight it was to converse with someone who of her candor.

He couldn't help but frown over how his sisters were treating her..but he had known they would do something like this. They did for some reason like to test people to see how far they could push them. If Yallinda could last just a bit longer, he figured that the Matron would stop their antics so that Yallinda wouldn't be inundated by silly requests.

Yallinda, I am please to hear how much you enjoy my gift! It brings me much pleasure to hear so.

Please don't worry about me, I shall be fine. With this Levin fellow watching my back everything should go much more smoothly. He happens to be rather good at fighting, and it's a plus that he's a light mage as well.

I am sorry to hear how my sisters are treating you. Please don't worry too much about them, once the Matron realizes how they are inconveniencing you she will make them stop. She may appear rather aloof and ignorant at times, but she does do a good job at keeping the Viper's nest in line.

I miss you as well, my lovely Yallinda. I miss you more than you could know. If only there were a way for us to spend one night together before I have to leave, that would be such a wondrous thing! Perhaps..we could sneak out and spend some alone time. With these journals as a means of communication, no one would know what we were up to. What do you think?

Would my dearest like to elope into the dark for a night alone? Or would you rather wait until my return? It is entirely your choice my love.
I await your answer with eager regard.

Always and faithfully yours.

She waited with a tingleing excitement in her chest. Her red eyes remained locked upon the blank page before her, and as Ka'da's handwriting appeared she loosed a small sigh of delight. What a perfect gift! Yallinda eagerly read each word as they formed before her, then picked up her pen to reply in hasty return.

"Levin? Who is this? Are you sure you can trust him? I can't see what use a Light mage would be, you are far more likely to be the more useful of the two. Oh Rihn, you best be safe! Whatever are you going to do anyways?

As for your sister, I hope your mother notices them soon or I shall be sorely tested to make my first 'mistake' with one of them. The severity of which really would depend upon my mood at the time, but I am not beyond making one of the little twits bedridden for a day of stomach pains.

To spend the night with you...Oh Rihn I really do want to. I miss you terribly and want you to hold me. But I do not wish to risk upsetting your mother and having her cast me out, or worse...forbidding us to be together! Still...if you do think there is some way for us to meet without being caught...what about a little inn room somewhere? I must warn you though Ka'da, if we do meet I will not be happy with anything less then a naked embrace and some kissing!! I can settle for waiting for the more intimate aspects until later but I deeply crave the comfort of your muscular form wrapped around mine and I simply will cry if I can not have it!

Ka'dairihn waited as patiently as his pounding heart would allow him. He wished he knew what exactly it was about Yallinda that had gotten her stuck under his skin. Even awaiting a response from her made his chest swell with fervor and excitement. What was going on with him? He had never experienced such emotions before..what exactly were they?

The heightened awareness of her scent and the familiar sound of how she breathed and moved intoxicated him whenever he was around her. It was as though is every waking moment his mind was being invaded with thoughts of her. So far, they hadn't proven too distracting to him and hadn't caused his skills as a warrior and First son to be impeded any. But he had no doubt that sooner or later someone in his family or one of the servants that served his matron or sisters was liable to notice the way he acted around Yallinda.

He shook his head, trying not to think about what might happen if their attraction was discovered too soon and destroyed before it could go any further. He glanced down at the open journal and couldn't help but grin at the cautious words that Yallinda had lovingly penned to him. He picked up his quill and wrote back with a hurried scrawl, his heart racing once more.

Levin will be my second in command on the venture I am heading up for the matron. I think he may find me attractive to be honest...so I don't believe he will want any harm happening to me. You can rest assured he will protect me as well as you would My dearest. Also..be guaranteed that I have no interest in him other than a possible friendship.

I can't really reveal where the group will be going..you shouldn't worry too much. I doubt much of anything will happen to me or the party. If something does..it shall be a great adventure to relate to you.

As for my sisters..if the Matron doesn't step in soon..go right ahead and teach one of them a lesson. Better yet..teach the whole lot of them a lesson! I dare say they all deserve it. The matron will just think them sick after a night of overindulgence. No one would ever suspect a thing..especially if you time it just right.

I seriously do not care what my Matron might think! I can no longer fend off my feelings for you Yallinda! Worry not though, I will make sure to keep our affair secret from all within the House.
If I were to write the things that I want to do to and with you dear Yallinda, I fear I would cause you to blush from head to toe. Await my next words as I go get ready everything that needs to be arranged for our night in one another's arms!
Ever Yours, Ka'da

Yallinda tipped the end of her quill into her mouth and nibbled upon it as she awaited eagerly for Ka'da's response. A part of her expected her knight to shy away from her warning. Her sweet gentle protector seemed so shy. Even with the wonderful kiss they shared...the embrace that left her head spinning and her heart pounding as if with fright. So when it was the ink appeared before her on the page, Yallinda's cheeks flushed with a hot and eager blush.

"Oh Rihn!" She whispered huskily as she picked up her quill to reply.

Hmm. I suppose then I shall not worry too much. As Levin is only another male I am not worried he can steal your affections away from me. If he grows too friendly or forwards I shall do something about him though. I shan't have my beloved harrassed or touched by any others! Even if it is only another male...well...perhaps if I could watch...but no. I do not think I could stand to share you even thus.

I will most certainly worry about you until you are back here where I can tend to you myself. I shall definatly go to your mother soon concerning your sisters. I do not want to raise her ire by sickening them, even if it is unlikely to be picked up on. I want her to have no doubt about my trustworthiness and loyalty.

Yet all the same...I share your feelings my love. I miss you so much. I want to be near you and to just take comfort in your presence. I shall wait most eagerly for your instructions my drling. Do not make me wait too long!
