Even though they're long disbanded, I'll forever have a soft spot for Petra (whom I've quoted in this guild more than once). Michael W. Smith and Carman were pretty good as well. But I don't listen to much Christian music these days ... I don't listen to much of any music these days.
As for "worship songs", well ... to me, nearly any Christian song could qualify.

How old are you? 30? You like that really old-school stuff.

I'm in my late teens/early 20's and I listen to Carman too. biggrin mrgreen I have to agree, Petra was an excellent band. They have some songs that even the more modern-day bands use. *Listens to Petra.*
I enjoy almost anything that is Christian though I'm still getting the hang of country. I can even enjoy heavy metal, as long as they are good. Michael W. Smith is one of my favorite artists, at least of the past 10-15 years. I enjoy Jason Upton, Tree63, Shawn McDonald, Plumb, SonicFlood, Jeremy Riddle, Jars of Clay, Third Day, Hillsong, Kirk Franklin, Newsboys, Toby Mac, Avalon, Newsong, Jeremy Camp, E-Praise, Joy Electric, Kutless, Red, Barlow Girl, V*enna, Disciple, Kari Jobe, Demon Hunter, Brian and Jenn Johnson (look up "A Little Longer" to get a taste of their music), and many many more. And even if I haven't heard of the Christian band I will most likely like them as long as they sound good.

And funny it is how I heard some fragment of an interview with Toby Mac this morning on the radio ("DC and the Family"). Dated excerpt, came out before Hancock, but it was there. Now, I think I've heard Toby Mac before, but the file I found which claimed to be him (an AMV) wasn't especially Christian, so I can't say for certain.

I was in 4th grade the last time I heard any music by Carman. Looking back, I remember thinking he was just plain weird. xD So you're 39? (sorry, had to wiki it)

Ding ding ding. *Gives Kewpie doll, then takes it back.* But you lose points for using Wiki.
Carman wasn't the best, but he was good as a sort of bard, using music to tell a story (The Champion, Lazarus Come Forth, Witch's Invitation, and so forth). Petra, I enjoyed partly because each song was a Bible study; a glance at the lyric sheet would give you the verses on which the song was based.
Don't misunderstand, these weren't the only ones I listened to ... just the only ones I listened to with any real frequency.

What's the song that had scary demon-guys wearing masks? I'm sure it was one of Carman's videos, but it's been so long....

Hmm ... the first that comes to mind is Revival In The Land, from the album of the same name -- around '92, I think. Mostly a conversation between Satan (in a throne) and a lower-ranked demon (on crutches!) about why Satan's been losing ground lately. Good makeup job on Satan, but he looked too much like Tim Curry's character from Legend for my taste.
Good song, but whoever did the mixing on the initial cut of that album seriously screwed up; most of the bass on the album (including Satan's voice) is garbled beyond recognition. I suspect they cleaned it up for later versions, and the audio of the video (yes, I know) sounded okay.

I'm definitely into the Christian Rock sub-genre, with my favorite groups being Skillet, Red, Kutless, etc. My favorite worship songs include Desert Song, Marvelous Light, All Day (Hillsong United) and Revolution (Starfield)
