 Welcome to my Kirin fanart contest held right here in the Aerithe guild!
I'm holding the contest to collect fanart for my friends; their most beloved Kirin are the subjects <333
Everyone who enters the contest has a chance to win! Every entry will earn a ticket, and at the end of the contest I will compile a list of tickets and the winner (selected by the Random Number Generator) will be awarded 50,000 gold!
I know you're thinking - this doesn't seem fair! Stick figures could be entered and get a ticket along side of truly outstanding entries. Luckily for you that will not be the case. The better the quality the more tickets the entry will be worth! Not to mention there are other prizes for outstanding pieces, totaling 500,000 gold!

Announcement: The contest has been extended by a month - entries are now due December 6th. Furthermore if you submit a WIP by then that is at least 50% complete you will have a week to finish it (so judging will begin on December 13th).

2. Follow all of Aerithe's rules and regulations.
3. No spamming or chitchat please! This thread is strictly for entries, and a single advertising post to each advertiser (just edit your post everyday that you advertise, adding the date). If there are any pressing questions or concerns feel free to PM me or a leave a comment on my profile. You can also find me in the Aerithe shop thread frequently throughout the day.
4. DO NOT STEAL THE PETS OR ANY OTHER ART WORK! It/they does/do not belong to you, and when (not if) you are caught you will be reported.
5. Every entry must have the following somewhere on the image (the actual piece of art) to qualify for the prizes:
Your Name (The name you normally sign on your art work submitted online)
Pet (c) Aerithe
Pet (you may use the pet's name or just "Pet") Belongs To (Insert Correct Username Here)
Why must this be included in the image?
- The original artwork (the pet and it's design) does not belong to you; the design and artwork belong to Aerithe and its rightful staff.
- The fanart is yours and your signature will protect it to some extent from thieves and will let everyone know who made the lovely entry.
- The pet belongs to an individual user.
Here is a fine example of this criteria. Any art submitted without the above information will not be eligible for a prize.
6. Please don't submit mere stick figures. I understand everyone has different talents, is at different levels artistically etc. but do put forth your best effort. Thank you!
7. Advertisers - You must have a banner in your signature every day you claim to be advertising in your advertising post. I'm on Gaia every single day, so I will be checking! Remember to edit your post and add in each date on which you advertise.

Everyday that you advertise earns you a single point, and if an artist specifies on their form that you referred them you receive two points. So 1 point for each day you advertise, and 2 points for each artist [who submits an entry] who says you referred them.
FAQs
Q. When does the contest end?
A. In no less than 2 months and no more than 3 months. Due to the low number of entries, the contest will be extended another month (December 6th). The contest opened on September 6th.
Q. What kind of fanart am I allowed to create?
A. As long as you include the criteria discussed in rule number five you may create absolutely any kind/type you wish. A few examples include sketch, realism, chibi, animated, anime, headshots, and chest-up shots (known as bust shots when concerning avatart art). You may include backgrounds/scenery as well. This is entirely up to you and your artistic abilities/skills/limits and willingness to try something new.
Q. What if I'm unsure of which genre/category my entry or entries fit into?
A. It's not a big deal if you are unable to decide - I will do so for you.
Q. Must I stipulate if the person receiving my art is allowed to use it on sites other than Gaia and an image uploading service such as Photobucket?
A. Yes please! Some of the people I've picked to have art done for may post their Kirin (and other Breedable/Changing pets for that matter) on other sites, and might like to showcase your fanart there as well (of course the artist's signature will never be removed, nor the art claimed to have been created by anyone else but the respective artist) . If you feel uncomfortable with this, please place "No" in the appropriate spot on the entry submission form.
Q. I am one of the friends you selected to have art done for. May I enter the contest?
A. Of course - anyone is eligible to enter. However, owners of the Kirin involved in the contest may only submit entries of Kirin they do not own (even if the ones in question are not apart of the contest).
Q. How did you choose the friends listed in this fanart contest?
A. There's no simple answer to that, because I choose each person for a different reason. Generally speaking I choose people who frequent the thread, are very good friends to me, etc. However, just because you weren't selected doesn't mean you aren't a friend to me or an Aerithe supporter. Realistically I couldn't choose everyone, so I picked a few people at random for such atributes.
Q. How many of the Kirin am I allowed to make art of, and how many styles am I allowed to create per Kirin?
A. You may create as many styles as you wish for as many of the Kirin as you wish (or as few) so long as each piece is unique.
Q. Who are the judges?
A. I will judge every entry for every prize except for the "Friend's Username Here" Top Pick.Each of those prizes will be decided by the given Friend, and they will only judge the submissions received for their own Kirin.
Q. Is it possible to win more than one prize?
A. Yes it is, especially since 5 of the available prizes will be determined by my friends. Furthermore the more outstanding your entry is the better your chances at other prizes.
Q. Should I create a single post and edit it if I create more entries?
A. While this is encouraged you don't have to. The only rule is that every post you make must contain an entry (unless you're an advertiser - then one of your posts will be your advertising tally).
Q. How do I become an affiliate?
A. Just PM your thread link to me and I'll place it in my "Links Out" section once you've placed one of my "Links In" in your thread.

The best single entry overall will win the Best in Show title. I will be able to tell that the entrant spent a great amount of time on the piece, due to the quality and content of the submission. Detail, form, style, expression/emotion, general concept, etc. will be reviewed.

The second best single entry overall will win the Best in Show Runner Up title. I will be able to tell that the entrant spent a great amount of time on the piece, due to the quality and content of the submission. Detail, form, style, expression/emotion, general concept, etc. will be reviewed. It will be nearly as wonderful as the Best in Show piece.

Every single entry will be worth one ticket, meaning every entrant has a shot at 50,000 gold!

For a Kirin Custom Only - 50,000 gold toward a Kirin custom
This prize will only be eligible to be used on a custom Kirin at Aerithe. It will be the only one with such a requirement. Any quality piece has the potential to win this prize, except for the "Best in Show" and "Best in Show Runner Up" winners.
Due to the current situation of the shop, this prize will be put into the other prize pots.

Best Scene/Scenery - 32,625 gold
This prize will be awarded to the artist who submits the entry with the best scenery, or over all outstanding scene. Scenery encompasses a background and the corresponding elements, where as a scene includes the background and corresponding elements, stance and "emotion/motion" of the Kirin included, and "props" (such as butterflies, other small creatures, & inanimate objects including by not limited to leaves, feathers, and wind).

The artist with an entry that posses something different, something special, which no other artist presented will win this honorable title. This special difference can revolve around the pose, emotions, scenery, theme, style, and any other aspect you can think of. Simply said, it must be as original as original can possibly be!

The best "true to life" piece will claim the "Best Realism" prize. Realism encompasses both three dimensional awareness and detail, though other areas will also be considered.

The cutest chibi submission will easily claim the "Best Chibi" prize! Of course other aspects are included aside from being adorable, but as with any chibi the cuter the better!

Best Full Body - 17,625 gold
From the hooves to the horn, the most distinguished full body submission will win the "Best Full Body" prize. Detail, style, color or monochrome, sketch or realism, and other variables are considered.

Best Head Shot - 17,625 gold
The most impressive neck up will claim the "Best Head Shot" prize. Expression/Emotion will be the main part of the criteria in this category, but other areas will be considered as well (including detail and style).

Best Chest Up - 10,000 gold
The most striking rib cage/mid shoulder to horn piece will earn the "Best Chest Up" prize. The criteria for this prize is very loose, as many areas will be reviewed.

Best Pixel - 10,000 gold
The most charming pixel submission will claim the "Best Pixel" prize. Detail and quality will be the main criteria of this category, though other areas (such as the pose) will also be considered.

Best Anime - 17,625 gold
The most remarkable anime styled entry will claim the "Best Anime" prize. I am very critical of Anime styled art, since I'm not very fond of it, so unfortunately it does take a rather special style to impress me. Do not let this deter you however - you may easily be the entrant to show me something worthwhile!

Best Animated Piece - 10,000 gold
The animated submission will claim the "Best Animated Piece" prize. A smooth transition as well as overall quality and pose/movement will weigh heavily, though other areas will be judged as well.

Most Realistic Expression/Emotion - 17,625 gold
The artist who submits the piece with the most convincing expression/emotion will earn the "Most Realistic Expression/Emotion" prize. Detail and true feeling are absolutely necessary to be considered, though other criteria will be taken into account.

Advertising Contest - 10,000 gold
The person with the most advertising points at the end of the event will win the 10k prize for Advertising! Remember you earn 1 point for each day you have a banner in your signature (and update your advertising post), and 2 points for every artist who lets me know you referred them.

The font color used is #5E2605, and is provided by tektek.org.
The font at the beginning of each post (the head titles) was downloaded from dafont.com is called "the King and Queen"
All of the Kirin pictured are copyrighted property of Aerithe and its respective owners and artists, as well as the pet owners themselves.
The Kirin/Qilin in the opening paneled banner and linked image was found at qilingo.com
