I was debating on weather or not to get the new one, but I was sorely disapointed with the GBA versions...

Should I even bother with explorers of sky?

I understand this is a question of personal preference, but I would be more than happy to hear your opinions.

If you've played Time and Darkness, I would highly suggest skipping Sky, unless you're a massive PMD fangirl like Usa up there, lol.

I personally like good, ol' Red and Blue PMD the best. It had a few UI flaws, but other than that, I really enjoyed them. Time and Darkness... Were less than stellar. My main beef with it is that if you ever want to evolve you and your partner, you HAVE to finish ALL the post-game side quests, which is utter bullshit, especially when you can only get certain side quests through random luck.

If it says anything, I'm still playing Blue and Red PMD, long after finishing them, but I logged the bare minimum in Time, and haven't touched Darkness at all. Once I could evolve, I dropped that s**t like it was hot.

However, Time and Darkness' plotline is pretty good, I'll give it that. If I remember correctly, I really like the very end where *you choose to return as a Pokémon, rather than in Red and Blue PMD where the forces that be were just like, "Oh, you're better off as a Pokémon, lol, go back to your friends".* That, and in Time and Darkness, if you play as a boy, the underlying homoerotic tension between you and Grovyle is just too much to ignore. Doubly so if your partner's a dude, too. lol

But Sky, however... It's really just Time and Darkness with Shaymin and Arceus.


tl;dr: Download the ROM and test it out. If you like it, buy it. I personally didn't like it, so I didn't buy Time/Darkness, and have no intention of buying Sky.

IS IT A GUY? Trust me, it'll be ******** hilarious, because once the story gets going, it becomes clear as day that there's like a love triangle between you, Grovyle, and your partner, and you could cut the sexual tension with a knife. Being a guy and having a female partner just makes it less funny. And being a chick with a dude partner just turns it into a standard shoujo-esque game.

And lol, I couldn't really say. I kept restarting and manipulating the questions to get the Pokémon I liked best. In Blue PMD, I was an Eevee (evolved into an Espeon) and then became a Ninetales as soon as I could switch leaders, in Red PMD I was a Skitty, and in Time I'm a Cyndaquil, who's now a Typhlosion. I think I took the test for fun once and got Chikorita, though. And if I ever played Sky, I'd totally keep trying until I got Vulpix. :|


@Melody: You the person playing the game don't actually get a choice. But your character does. The powers that be give the character a choice between going back *to the future* or staying with the guild, and your character chooses the latter.

@Melody: Somewhat. *The future the character comes from is pretty crappy. Time's been permanently frozen, so the world is pretty much a cold, unmoving, lawless wasteland shrouded in complete darkness.*
