It always hurt. Not that Paige was complaining, there were far worse jobs someone could have when they were just starting out in the world, but the graveyard shift from four pm to two am would never feel good. At least not in the morning. Shuffling through the small hallway from her bedroom to the kitchen/living area the young woman ran hot water over the dishes left to be done (a great way to keep mold from growing) and started to search out a meal. It was a talent she had honed long ago, preparing herself for the day with eyes still nearly shut. The effect made Paige look a great deal like a drunk as she swayed through her kitchen to gather up a bowl and some cereal, but at least it felt as if she were getting a little bit more rest.
Turning off the water and yawning Paige reluctantly left the kitchen. Amazingly, despite the pile of dishes, it was the cleanest place in the apartment next to her room. She needed a few havens or else the college student would easily go insane. It had been two years since she had set out on her own, not by choice, but by necessity. Her mother had passed away from an unknown tumor in her skull leaving Paige alone, but at least prepared, to scrape by on her own. And really, it could be worse. Holding her bowl up so the milk didn't slosh out as she plopped herself down on her worn couch Paige ignored the meows of her mother's old tabby cat for the white liquid she was still using. Certainly the apartment was a mess, but she was trodding along. Like her mother wanted, Paige was in a community college getting a degree and working full time through the nights to support herself and her feline family.
"It could be worse." starting to wake up by that point as the meal was devoured Paige gave in to the cat's request and set the bowl down for her to lap up the remains of the milk once she had finished, "Spoiled brat." she added fondly, running a hand through her hair and debating whether or not she had time for a shower or if a hat would be the best course of action. Considering her dark brown bangs and the ends of the layers of hair had become rather greasy and she was exhausted...Paige went for a hat. Comfort was more important than appearances at college anyhow and with only half an hour until her ten am class she knew that she should get out of the fur covered pajamas she wore; but her feet dragged. Another daily ritual, biding time by playing with her cat, or pretending to clean, or just going into a stressed tirade about the day to come. Today Paige was just calm however, exhausted, and more or less went through her daily preparations at a crawl; being late had become far lower on her list of worries than it used to be.
"Alright, you have a good day Keisha." The cat mewed a response, if only because Paige was taking the bowl of milk away, "And you to mom." Of course it was silly, to talk to a picture. But Paige had set the old photo of her mother and whom she had been told was her father near the door to do just that. Her mother really had been a beautiful woman, long wavy blonde hair, bright blue eyes, pale skin. It was a stark contrast to the man next to her who was almost solely created out of dark shades. His hair matched Paige's dark brown and a bit of his eyes had made it into hers as well, darkening the blue that came from her mother. Paige had both of her eyes at least, the man in the picture wore an eyepatch over one of his own, stylish at least; both of their clothes were. But the young woman had long ago decided that her mother was far from a part of that sort of society and that the worn picture must have come from one of the gaudy theme park booths that made people dress up for photos, "Good day to you to you dead beat." it was a teasing voice as Paige poked at the picture, she didn't quite believe that she had any real relation to the man and never having him there didn't make her long for anything. Her mother had done well on her own. Sighing and straightening up from the picture Paige took hold of the handle to her backpack, on wheels to save her back, "And behave Keisha! Clean the house a bit while I'm gone to." Paige added, though the cat had already slunk off to take a nap as its master headed for the door.

Sebastian walked looking for the apartment in which the girl he had been searching for was to live. He had the numbers by memory but never having traveled in a collage setting he did not know how to travel fully. Of course this was a task that needed to be done and soon he had to stop one of the students. “Hello.” His voice was professional as usually. “I am looking for apartment 324, in section A. I am looking for a particular student and have yet to learn the layout of this establishment.” The student gave him some simple directions and the demon butler memorized them swiftly. His steps continued and soon he arrived at a door. A second of looking at the door and Sebastian sighed lightly. The human student had given him false instruction for this was the wrong door. Turning from it the demon placed his hand to his chin to think. Shaking his head he chose to simply search for the girl by the fact her scent would be similar to his last master. Walking he shifted his attention threw the man, many scents on the campus. Soon the correct one drifted into his nose and he started to follow it to the freshest location. A few moments later Sebastian stopped in front of a door, the door had her scent showing she used it the most. Three knocks were all he did as he waited. He folded his hands behind his back and stood tall awaiting the girl to answer. Sebastian wore his usual butler outfit, the gloves as well. His face looked professional and his eyes a dark red, the shade from his shaggy bangs made his eyes look like a deep brown. It was all a front for humans to be fooled. His hair, short black and shaggy, was the only thing that looked unprofessional about him.

((I'll start trying to shrink down soon XD just can't stop myself sometimes.))
A spasm would perhaps be the best way to describe it. Paige didn't want to say that she jumped, that would make it seem as if she had been more scared than startled...Though frankly the paranoid woman was a bit of both. The last time someone had come knocking at her door it was a scantly clad woman smelling heavily of alcohol and thinking that Paige's apartment was her own. It had taken two police officers and Paige finding her paperwork to the box she lived in to get everything sorted out. And while the young woman didn't expect a drunk to show up on her doorstep at ten in the morning, she certainly wasn't expecting anyone. Frowning and running through the mental list of bills and taxes Paige could not find anything that she was behind on and certainly not behind on enough on to warrant a visit. A package? UPS showed up around that time, but she hadn't heard the massive truck nor the parade of shut in geeks hurrying for their newest set of ebay purchases...So to open the door, or hide? Glancing to her watch the young woman knew she didn't have much time to get to class; the sooner she got out of her apartment the better and the peephole in her door had long since been cracked giving her only the view of a smudged shadow of a figure. That did nothing to ease her paranoia.
Sighing and resigning herself to the fact that it was likely nothing more than a desperate for food apartment-mate Paige adjusted the keys in her hand to have the largest one prepared, as a weapon if need be, and opened the door. A sigh had already started accompanied with a roll of her eyes, if it was someone within the apartment they should know by that point not to come to her. All stuck in the same point in life or not she would rather let them survive on their own, "Wha-" A quiet sound of confusion escaped the back of Paige's throat and she straighened herself up. Eyes widening in confusion she looked the well dressed man up and down, wondering how lost he had gotten, or whom had died, as her gaze settled on his features and she blushed. God, why didn't she get out of the house earlier? Shutting the door slightly, both as something to hide behind and block the dirty apartment from view, the college student frowned, "Can I help you?"
She spoke quietly, uncertain as to why he was there. Whomever he was he looked like he should be on Wall Street, not in the student filled apartment complex. Someone had to have died...Or maybe it was children's services again. They had lost her paperwork so badly Paige wasn't even looked in on after her mother's death until she was eighteen, thank goodness for that, nothing could be done by that point. Wonderful, that had to be it, how embarassing. The young woman sighed again, "Do you need to see my I.D.? I swear, this is the third time, just because I was sixteen at one point doesn't mean that I stay sixteen forever." Paige began to slouch again, resting against the quarter opened door with her other hand on her hip as she watched the man, frown still in place. He certainly didn't look like the other nervous and bogged down with paperwork social agents and was attracting quite a few looks from those students in the hallways. Adjusting her position to make her displeasure to those known to those idling about a few did disperse a couple of feet before they started gossiping again. Was Paige in trouble? Someone from school? The government? Some host service? It was their job to take ahold of anything out of the ordinary and turn it into an extraordinary story.

Sebastian looked back to here some of the humans gossiping. “Excuse me I believe this matter has nothing to concern you. I would be grateful if you would keep your dirty little noses out of the business of those with nothing to do to you. If you will not except my request I can assure you that you wont like it.” Of course he did not plan on doing anything to them, a simple little ploy to make them believe, with his dressing it was easy to believe he might do anything to them he wished. The gossiping humans hurriedly slipped away and Sebastian turned to look at the girl, who seemed to be hiding behind the door. “Hello miss. My deepest apologizes for that scene. I did not wish to have them listening while we converse. I have come here looking for you because of who you are.” He lightly bowed to her and then straitened up after a moment. Looking down on her a grin smoothed over his face. “I have come to inform you that you are the next heir to the Phantomhive family. I need you to come to London with me to take over the family, otherwise the company, the manor, the servants, and everything else your family has taken care of for many many years will be taken over and your ancestors shale have lived and built it all up for nothing.” Sebastian crossed his hands behind his back again and said nothing to her speaking of not being sixteen anymore.

Staring at the man in shock Paige didn't know quite what to make of him. From fending away the stares of always curious students to bowing the young woman was at a complete and total loss, "T-The what now?" the hell was going on? Looking around the hallway again she tried to locate any kind of camera, or perhaps a giggling bunch of drama students. They likely would be the only ones who could wrangled together such a getup, though she wondered whom they had gotten to actually go through with the prank. He seemed too old to be at the community college, and too well trained to still be a bumbling through lines theatre major, "Ah. Right...Well, this is very entertaining and all..." Paige brought her attention back to the man infront of her, wondering where the masterminds behind the prank were, "But I have class and I need to get- Keisha!? Shoo!"
The door had been open for far too long and the feline was certain that it meant that she was allowed to go out. Cursing and bringing a leg out to block her path out the door Paige caught the front of the cate with her ankle and pushed her back. Smiling a bit as Keisha stumbled before stubbornly holding her ground, ready to break free and make a run for it whenever she was next given the chance. Sighing and keeping her right leg out as a living boundary to keep the cat in place she could only hope that the cat didn't think to jump as she looked back up to the man infront of her. Paige really had no idea as to who the Phantomhives were. She would have heard the name, but it was not one that was well stored away in her banks of knowledge. Funtom would be, half of the garbage in her house was generated from their brand of microwaveable noodle bowls, they made a wonderful teriyaki sauce, "I need to get to class. Nice story and all, but shoo." she gave a dismissive wave of her hand towards the man, as if he were a cat himself.

Sebastian watched the girl for a moment and his eyes went down to the small cat at her feet. It took a great deal of his strength to hold back from going over and coddling the animal. “I am sorry miss but I cannot return back to London without you. Actually I can. But I refuse to. You are the last of the Phantomhive family, say.. A forgotten heir. As I said before the company, Funtom needs you as well. I am here simply to get you and take you to where you truly belong. Not to mention the fact that the queen as well shale need your assistance.” Sebastian took out an old pocket watch from his coat pocket and clicked it open. Looking at the time he sighed and closed it. “I am already behind schedule due to those students giving me the wrong direction. Finding you was no easy task I mush shamefully admit.” Looking around the halls a moment he looked thoughtful as Sebastian turned to look at the girl again. “This school cannot teach you what you need to know.”

Tipping her head to the side Paige felt a smile coming across her features as she did her best to swallow back her desire to burst out laughing at the man. He really was into his job, wasn't he? Maybe he was working on his own? Perhaps he was a student and had just gotten done up enough that she didn't recognize him. Then again, it wasn't as if she stopped to chat with anyone on the campus, he could be anybody, "Yes, well. I beg to differ. For the money I've poured into it, it damn well better be able to." she looked back to the cat, pushing her away and making a hissing sound to scare her enough that she returned to the couch. Still poised to run for the door, but further away now. It gave Paige a chance to haul up her bookbag and squeeze by the man, not very concerned as to whether the bumped him or not, as she set the rolling bag down again and turned to lock the door.
"Now really, very interesting story. Nice and realistic, throwing an actual company in there. But the joke has gone on long enough and I'm already late. Perhaps find a better way to spend your time, get a job as an actual worker, the uniform suits you." she snorted back a bit of laughter, telecoping the handle o her bag to properly adjust its height so she could roll it away with her. What a ridiculous man.

Sebastian sighed as the girl started to walk away. Looking around he noticed the hall was pretty much empty. He moved in the blink of an eye in front of the girl. “I am being serious. This suit is the one your family has supplied me with. I am Sebastian Michaelis. My family has been working for the Phantomhive’s since all the way back to your ancestor Ciel Phantomhive.” Yes he lied, something he usually didn’t do to one he worked for, but no use scaring the girl by telling her he has been alive for most of her family line. He needed her to come with him, not be afraid of him. “And as I said, this school will not teach you the information you need to know, you need to learn how to lead your company. And I spend my time the way my master or mistress wishes me to spend it. You would be my soon to be mistress if things work out.” He did not truly care if the girl walked into him, the descendants of the old workers, tracing back to Bard, Finny, and Maylene have been working at the manor as well, due to the fact they had very good skills in protecting the manor. Even if they usually made a great mess of things. “We should probably hurry, the servants are imbeciles when left alone.. I wouldn’t be surprised if they set something on fire.” Sebastian was muttering the last part to himself however.
(Oh I was wondering if I was doing an okay job as Sebastian?)

Gasping in shock as the man suddenly appeared infront of her Paige stumbled back, forgetting the bag behind her she caught her arm and nearly stumbled over the handy device in her surprise. How the hell had he done that!? Looking behind her and back to the man a few times in hopes of finding an answer her mouth was slightly open in her shock, the hell!? Still looking just as dumbfounded as before at his description of what was going on a small, far more nervous than before, laugh escaped her.
"I-I would like to disagree with that. I am signed up for perfect classes for my goals, I have no interest in business." Perhaps taking the serious approach would be the better option instead of brushing it off. The man certainly seemed to be determined, perhaps a bit mad. If she played along and denied him in a way that he deemed proper then he might finally give up...At least Paige hoped so, she never did pay much attention in her psychology classes, "I won't be hurrying anywhere with you ah...Sebastian?" she smiled a bit, imagery of 'The Little Mermaid' popping into her mind and making her giggle despite herself as she pictured the man as a rather stern version of the bright red crab. Paige's imagination had the tendancy to get ahead of her when she hadn't had a full night's worth of sleep.
"I'm already late for class, the things I need...Or want, to learn." She tried to move around him again, but it was more difficult within the hallway as there was not much space to do so.
((*nods* no worries there at all! And bit slower than normal right now, posting between commercials for a movie XD))

Sebastian sighed and placed his hand on his forehead shaking it lightly. Then an idea struck him as he lowered his hand. “You need not be nervous. I will not harm you, I have the ability to but no such reasoning.” With another blink of an eye he was behind her. Sebastian had moved her bag away from her and placed his hands on her shoulders. He had noticed her slight fatigue awhile ago and it might just work for him. Her leaned over to speak in his ear. “You know you hate this, moving threw life barely,” He could tell that due to the mess he had noticed in her apartment. “Being alone in a world with many.” He had looking into her family history a few days ago, her mother was dead and that was the only family she really had as far as he knew. “Dealing with the everyday life. Why not just find out what your true destiny holds.” Sebastian spoke in a low voice, the demon whisper. He had used it many times before and it had never failed him before.

Jumping as she suddenly felt the man's hands on her shoulder Paige released the bag she rolled behind her, still in line to be pulled it fell to the ground once her grip was released. She started to turn around, muscles tensing, ready to kick, bite, punch, anything. And the desire to do so just left. Eyes flickering she experienced a strange sensation, that odd calm half awake, half asleep, that overtook a person as they were drifting off at night. Incredibly calm and warming, the feeling that everything was right in the world and that it would all be fine. Muscles slowly unknotting from the stopped attack the young woman's eyes dilated as she listen. Paige had no choice but to do so.
Swaying where she stood there was a moment where she tried to pull away, eyes shutting and head shaking as she tried to get rid of the strange, unnatural feeling. But it was far too pleasant, and the words spoken had no trouble carefully weaving through her pleasant calm and impressing themself upon her far more than ever possible by normal speech, "I'm fine..." her voice was quiet and for good reason full of doubt, "I have class...I'm managing...I'm smart, I'm fine..." the drugged tone of her voice increased the more she spoke, "I'm just so tired..."

Sebastian smiled lightly as she relaxed and he listened to her. It was working just fine so far, a bit more and she would be leaving with him. “Your not fine, many humans collapse from exhaustion from all that you do just to get by for a day. You don’t need class, because you only come here so you may earn money with a job. Yet you can go to your roots, and you will have the money you want. And you will have a job. You can keep doing whatever you came here to do, yet you wont need to do it as work. More a hobby. You will have time to rest rather then working so hard for what you need. If you still wish for knowledge then you can hire the best privet tutors, or I could teach you. I have a vast knowledge over everything you would be able to learn at this school.” Sebastian continued the demon whisper as it seemed to work. “You can bring whatever makes you feel at home here with you.”

She was caught. All Paige ever wanted was to rest and relax again, to not feel as if the world was on her shoulders and that she might crack one day and lose everything that she had struggled to keep together. The urge to cry was overwhelming, making her eyes bright as she blinked the tears back even while her mind was so intoxicated by the spell the demon usd. Just a break, just a time away, it would all be fine, "I just need Keisha...That's all...She's all I have." Of course she had belongings, homework, hobbies (even if they hadn't been touched for years). But it was the cat that seemed the most important to her trapped mind that had been more or less ordered to dismiss anything from her thoughts that was not of the uptmost importance to her, "I'm late for class." A statement that held no meaning as she wa snot inclined to go in that moment. But it to, was very important to her. A break, yes, that would be wonderful.

“You can bring the cat with you. You don’t need to go to class. If you come with me then you can have the best to teach you. You can learn only what you wish to learn. You can have whatever you want. All you have to do is come with me, and make an agreement with me. Then anything you want in the world would be yours.” Sebastian was getting into the talk of a contract, yet he wouldn’t close the deal here. He needed to get her to fully come first of all. His voice continued to enter her ear directly as her breathed the demon poison called a the demon whisper. He continued to smile, now about the fact humans were so easy to talk into things.

Her gaze dropped down to the bag on the ground, staring, her position wavering slightly as if her legs were considering giving out on her and Paige pulled away. Bending down to pick up the bag she turned around, moving past Sebastian again and with guidance from his words returning to her apartment. For a few moments struggling with the door until her muddled mind recalled that she needed to unlock it.
She would need to be reminded of what she was supposed to do on occassion, but overall the whisper remained and put the woman in motion packing up an old faux leather suitcase with clothes and belongings. It seemed perfectly normal and acceptable to her, she was supposed to be getting ready, she was supposed to be leaving her apartment, that was what was right. Her books and classes were still important to her, but only to the point that the medical textbooks thrown about her apartment were shoved into either her backpack or suitcase...Or a few near ripping blue plastic bags that held spare bits and pieces that couldn't fit. And last but not least, Keisha was manipulated into a carrier with an open canister of cat n** for the trip.
