SO the EIR (Evolving Item Report.) today was pretty interesting. Timmy is going back to jail. Dr. Singh might have to bail him out. Blah Blah Blah. The interesting part though is that the officer is talks about something. Officer Boothe You can't just rob a man of his livelihood. It's unlawful, it's wrong, and it's positively un-Gaian. Now that sounds like something they did to us in a way. They took away our Gaia lives with stopping the plots. Now could it be a message of sorts? Or is it just them being hypocrites? Well I hope it is a message.

Mmmm, I don't think it's a message specifically aimed at us (plot-following Gaians). Although if it is, it's nicely done.

Get some sleep, Agent. That theory's crazy even for us.

I know. But it kinda makes them hypocrites in my view. Plus, who knows, maybe a plot will come out of this.

Ask Lanzer about it in the upcoming AtA? If we're lucky, he might shed some more light on the upcoming plot updates...

Agent EXE YAMI! I am the crackpot theorist! You;ll put me out of business D: If you use semi-colons instead of apostrophes then I will do it with ease. And I thought it was kinda strange with that quote. Seemed surprising since that is what they did to us. That was our life here on Gaia. And I go by Clone, not Yami. Clone.

You know....to be fair to the admins and dev's and all them people who run gaia for a living, it's not like they are purposefully taking away plots and such. So it's asking if it's hypocrisy or a message is truly a false dichotomy. I mean think about it, you guys realize how hard pressed they are to do anything, don't you? Remember if you will, they recently had to lay-off and/or demote a whole slew of their own because of budgeting and the need to lower the price. So, isn't it posisble that the reason we have no major plots is caused by their current lack of staff? Keep in mind, the most intensive plot periods, aside from the Zurg arc, were at times when membership was at a low, and there were many less site features they had to deal with. As it is, you can tell they're struggling just to maintain the weekly semi-plot contained in the EI reports. Then again, I could be totally wrong and mistakn about this. But that's my point of view, and I'm standing behind it...

But that's my point of view, and I'm standing behind it... I reckon that sounds reasonable. Plot obviously isn't as much of a priority as it once was, for two reasons: 1. there's no money in it. 2. Most of the site doesn't actually care about the plot, even though the ones that do care are very vocal about it.

I think the "I pay 100$ a week for items" people are a bit more there priority at the moment. It'd be cool if they made a plot and just let the users handle it. Just throw out some crap and pick users to operate NPCs.

Just throw out some crap and pick users to operate NPCs. The problem with that is that it requires them to ind useres mature and responsible enough to handle the NPC's without abusing them, and well....It also gives them next to no ability to control anything. Even in the Zurg plotline, despite the great influence the users had, in the end, the final power was left to the Gaia staff and the Zurg. But giving complete controll to the users? Never gonna happen, I hope....It would just be way to chaotic.

Well I hope it is a message. Now, wait just a minute. Gaia didn't stop any plots. There is an overarcing plot that's still ongoing, and that we're still following. And they didn't "rob" us of anything: Just because the current plot does not feature aliens doesn't mean we do not have a duty to protect our fellow Gaians from threats, extraterrestrial or otherwise. As for the quote, I heard it in a movie somewhere: replace "UnGaian" with "UnAmerican" and there you have it. It was likely a shoutout to that particular movie, rather than us.

The plots we are getting are just a bunch of unfinished comics that only last about 2 weeks. The plots we use to get involved users helping move the plot and spanned over months at a time. Or was just a huge event that everyone wanted to be apart of.
