Personally
"Nedxena has a drive for true power and discovery, she lusts for the unknown and the dangerous."
Nedxena has a great interest in her studies and research as a mage, but has gained a fairly good business sense and has traveled and dealt with many other Houses by accompanying her mother or sisters on many business trips. Nedxena has stopped doing much work in this sense for the house and focuses more recently on her own work as the rift between her and her sister Malune has grown. Nedxena does get involved in the politics and intrigue of her house, despite having the reputation for being the more uninvolved sister. Unlike her sisters, Nedxena operates more quietly and picks her battles carefully.
While recognizing that many of the most skilled mages are male, Nedxena staunchly remains the typical Lolth-worshiping female in her attitude towards males. Those who are mages certainly do have their usefulness if they can teach her something.
Similar to her sister Malune, although she would not admit it, Nedxena has a vicious streak. Unlike Malune however, Nedxena is more likely to bottle up her rage and release it in private. She takes the immediate frustration from Malune out on others, saving her retaliation against Malune for a more carefully laid plan. She prefers to vex Malune through other sources and has more than once fixed the blame to point to Akorbaste.
Nedxena is not terribly hard to please once you are used to her routine. Servants prefer working for her over the other females of the House. They quickly learn that Lady Nedxena prefers to be left alone and will come herself to request what she wants when she wants it. Only the new servants incur her wrath until they learn her habits.
Like many drow, Nedxena places importance on appearance and thinks highly of her abilities. But she is not so truly vain nor short-sighted that she is not aware of the extensiveness and awe of the ancient powers that exist which are much greater than her. This does not stop her from thinking she is get closer to these powers. Nedxena has a drive for true power and discovery, she lusts for the unknown and the dangerous. As much as she is in awe of what she works with, Nedxena does not lack the bravery (or some would call it the audacity) to use and manipulate it. It might be great but she is a drow and can be greater.
Saying Goodbye to the Family home?
Nedxena dislikes the House focus on slave trading, although she appreciates the money which she can use to buy her precious objects. She is a very talented mage but feels the matron does not give her any respect or proper recognition for the contribution she could make to her House. Her sister Malune is quite vicious about insisting that the House has no need to raise mages and has lately gone so far as to have several removed. Unfortunately for Nedxena, Malune has been more successful in gaining the Matron's ear on this subject because the Matron thinks fighting and other skills are better to encourage when they are a slave trading House.
There's nothing wrong with a Human pet
She will take and keep slaves that show signs of power and knowledge. She has no real respect for them but she is interested in all sources of power and is willing to learn from them in case it can strengthen her. Nedxena has even taken one human up to the surface to help find her a particular object which she was seeking. When finished, Nedxena will return them back to be sold. Otherwise, they could find themselves on the end of a magical experiment.

Magic, Magic, Magic
Nedxena's magic is connected to the energies and forces of the underdark, finding ancient powers to tap into. She has some interest in the surface world and objects from it. Nedxena often utilizes light, bones and her hoard of rare magical artifacts.
