During the Templais War, not all of the five warring species were on the same side. There was conflict within the Dragan, Rocs, and Gryphons. Very few disagreed, but there were still some who did not feel settled with the side they were on. The Roc dissenters abandoned their race and set out to live on the Great Mountain under the Dragan king's close watch. The few gryphons also left their people, but they struck out to the west and were not heard of again.
Among the Dragan, thirty were opposed. They banded together, organized themselves, and left Doxa Lanx for the Vales. The Darklings, who at that time were led by the more powerful of their kind, were quick to take to these menacing Dragans and soon fell under their rule. The war was over by that time, and these dissenters led their creatures back to the South. From there, the Black Drakkan began to conduct experiments with their magic and the Darklings, creating things so horrible they are beyond description. The peaceful Dragan and other species who lived in the Meadowlands told the Circe in Doxa Lanx of these happenings and how they now lived in constant fear of either them or their herds being hunted. The news put the mountain Dragans to great worry and they prepared for what was to come.
The Drakkan had build a stronghold amid the southern chasms and began to better organize their Darklings. They had, over time, created a whole new brand of magic, a sinister branch off the four elements. It threatened to tear apart the Drakkan who used and shaped it, but they mastered the pain and the wrongness that tore at their souls.
Now, we reach present day; the order has gathered their Darklings and is beginning a march on Doxa Lanx. This time, they are stronger, smarter, and bring with them a surge of black magic with strength enough to bring a grown Dragan to his knees.
