...birds creep over tin roofs, like criminals with tap shoes...

I have only read the first book, and i don't think i will bother with the following ones.

I found it readable, and it took a whole afternoon to get through.
The language was quite dull and repetitive, and i found the characthers to be one dimensional, edward i vampire, edward likes bella, edward dont want to hurt bella.
Its a good book to start with, or if you just want something easy to read.
But i wouldn't call it a great work of literature. ;D

...stain the glass with windows, extortionate and cold stare...

i love the first book but i felt it got a little commersial (i.e. writing simply to finish it as soon as possible) by the last book.

can't wait to see if Meyers does publish Midnight Sun though!!! 4laugh

Well, I kind of find it disappointing. All of the hype of the movie got me excited to read the books and I wound up thinking..."Seriously?" I guess I thought it'd me more substantial it sort of got on my nerves...and for some reason I react badly whenever I hear about it. And I'm with Tebasile on how it was written.

wouldn't read it, unless I was forced by gunpoint to do it honestly...

i mean, good writing from what I hear, but the movie killed it for me. The overly oober obsessed fangirls... it's fiction, not real, yet, they make it like Edward is so awesome and everything. To me... it's "He's a character in a book, whoopti do" *sigh*

that's just me though...

Twilight is one of those things I love to hate. The first book was... okay. Too much lovey dovey stuff for me. It needed more violence to offset the love. It was more of an older woman's high school wet dream than a piece of literature. I don't know if I can bring myself to read the other books. It might rot my brain too much.

Now the movie. I think I have a complete different spin on the movie than most Twilight fans. Edward in the movie, to me, seems... like my ex-boyfriend. Bipolar, a stalker, possibly mentally retarded. Throughout the movie he says random things just to move the story along ("You have to see me in the sun!"). I enjoyed the movie in my own way and I loved where they filmed it, but yeah, love to hate.

I liked Meyer's book Host much better, but still there was too much love. Needed more stark violence.

By the way, I love your post Tebasile mrgreen

Twilight, now that's one of the most loved and hated series at the same time. Personally, I enjoyed it. But I do find the overly obsessive fangirls that oly like it because they want to marry Robert Pattinson very annoing. Much like a find the bandwagon riders that hate Twilight, or claim to hate it just because the vampires sparkle, they play basball and/or only drink animal blood annoying. Neither of them are seeing the story for what it is. It's very irksome.
I'm thankful for the people that actually give VALID reasons why they hate it though.

Twilight is a poorly edited series and tends to drone on about the same old thing, Bella and Edward's romance, and has a weak plot. Gave up on the series half way through the second book. Reccomend to all extremely girly-girls who don't know what good quality writing is.

An amusing critique of Twilight and its sequels that pulls no punches can be found on YouTube:

Twilight = Epic Fail

You have been warned.

I used to love it, until I realized I had no reason to. It's fine I suppose, but the language that Stephanie Meyer uses is dry. The movies are awful, however, and they get way too much hype. So the actors are hot? You know what I say to that: they can't act. I don't know who casted for that movie, but I would fire them in a heartbeat...
