I'm going torwards my first spell, probably next weekend. I have most all the supplis needed, just a trip to the mall and I'll be ready. However, one question. I know salt is often used to purify circles, but..what else is there? What are some ays to cleanse and purify a circle?

You may want to check out this thread on some general info on circles.
A lot will depend on what you are casting a circle for. I usually draw my circle, then go once around, sprinkling with salt (earth) + water to purify, and once around with a smudge stick (air and fire) to consecrate it.

I suspect baking soda might be suitable for ritual purification.
