Lina stared at the two eggs now sitting in her lap blankly. One of them was white, with specks of blue all over the shell. The other one was simply a blank, white egg.
The former egg she had received from Mierlyn, a contest judge Lina had become friends with. The second one was one she had accepted from the Pokemon Center, who had recently recieved an incredibly large amount of Pokemon eggs.
"Hey Lina." A familiar voice sounded behind her. The small girl turned around to see her brother walking carefully towards her, a Charmeleon at his side. The boy had his hand on the pokemon's head as he walked.
"Sicel!" Lina cried out happily, and would have gotten up to hug her brother if she didn't have the two eggs in her lap. Charmeleon stopped, and Sicel sat down carefully on the grass next to Lina. It was the first time in a very long time that Lina had seen her brother not wrapped up in bandages his entire body over.
"I missed you." Sicel told her, staring straight ahead. His voice was strained and full of sadness- he had lost his sight, and the blow had been painful to the young child.
"I missed you too big brother." Lina said, putting her left arm -recently free of its cast and splint- around her brother's shoulder. They stayed there like that for a while, silent, both reflecting on what had happened.
"Frill is ok now." Lina finally piped up, and Sicel nodded.
"That's good." Was all that he said.
Lina couldn't bear to see her brother like this.
"Big brother...I have two pokemon eggs with me." Lina said. Sicel turned to look at her, and Lina couldn't help but recoil at Sicel's empty gaze.
"Oh really? Let me see them-..." His voice died in his throat as he realized the meaning of what he just said.
"Brother, we can hatch them together." Lina urged. Sicel hesitated for a moment, and then nodded.
"Alright then Lina. Let's do this together."
---
Mierlyn yawned and stared at the two eggs now sitting at the foot of her bed. One was bright yellow with black stripe, which she had received from a breeder. That egg will find a good trainer- the winner of the first Contest Mierlyn will host.
The second one, like Lina, she had received from the Pokemon center. Groaning, Mier stood up, stretching, going to open the window to let the morning light in. She had just came back yesterday night, and didn't have any time to really unpack or to make sure the eggs were under proper care.
After getting dressed and washed, Mierlyn carefully placed both eggs into a small backpack. She passed the Rojn'Az twins, sleeping sprawled on top of each other, and went downstairs.Grabbing a piece of bread, she left to go outside and into the streets of Lilycove.
She hasn't ever taken care of eggs herself before. But she did have a breeder friend back in Mauville city who could help. Since her house was still in a mess, Mier had decided calling her friend from the Pokemon center would probably be the smarter idea.
Enjoying the morning breeze of the seaside, Mier happily took her time.

Carrying her own egg, with Coty in tow as always, Eienna spotted the boy, the Charmeleon and the girl. Wishing she could join them, but finding direct requests difficult, she sat down somewhere around thirteen feet away under a nice shady tree.
Small blossoms fell on her shoulders and she laid back, egg on her tummy, enjoying the scents and gentle warmth of the beautiful day.
I wonder what it will be, she wondered as she watched it. I hope it's a Growlithe. "But," she corrected herself out loud, "would a creature like that listen to me?"

((Gah, I should have said something about this earlier. I'd love to do role-playing with people, but since I only have a week before I disappear, I don't have enough time. I meant this thread as me story-telling. Sorry. sweatdrop ))
Despite their parents protests, Sicel and Lina both decided to be off. Both of them had recovered completely -sort of- and Sicel had be rehabilitating for longer than he cared. As they had agreed to after they woke up in the hospital, both of them would continue their journey as trainers.
"Traveling around is suppose to be good for an egg anyways." Sicel had mentioned, which sparked a heated debate with their mother about the truth behind it.
Each of the two trainers kept one of the eggs in their backpack. Lina had the one from Mierlyn, and Sicel took care of the one from the PC. As they readied themselves to finally leave the next morning, their mother fretted over everything, still trying to convince them to stay a little bit longer.
Not that she could change their minds though. And finally, they said their farewells. It was off on the road again. With no real goal in mind, the siblings decided to travel to mauville. Mierlyn had told Lina about a breeder there running a Pokemon Daycare. They'll probably have tips on how to take care of the eggs.

Eienna rolled over, got to her feet, and walked away. She was rather unhappy with herself for for once again missing an opportunity to make friends, but who knew what was to come....

((Sorry Eienna ^^; I promise we can RP once I get back ok?))
Everything he used to take for granted he saw in a new light now. Having grown up teaching himself to be independent, with the dream of becoming a gym leader in mind, knowing that he could not live without the help of others around him constantly did not agree with the young boy's sensibilities.
But there was nothing he could do about it except adapt. He'll find a way. It's a lot more productive than sulking.
"So what do you think?" He asked his little sister as he explained his plan. Lina nodded, before remembering that Sicel could not see.
"Yes." She answered instead. The two kids were huddling by a campfire, a day's walk out from Lilycove. Their journey had been slow. Sicel found it hard to adapt- not that the stubborn boy would admit it. Sitting next to them was Charm the Charmeleon, and Pixie the Ninetales. Each of them were examining the two Pokemon eggs with interest, and Pixie had wrapped her bushy tail around the white one with blue specks.
"Alright then, that settled that." Sicel said, sitting back to lean against his packpack. "We'll pass the Safari Zone tomorrow, then turn south to pass Mount Pyre. It's a straight journey to Mauville through Route 123 and 118 from there."
Both kids had agreed to take the shorter path to Mauville. They weren't pressed for time, but going the northern path to Forttree would take them through the lands where the fire occurred. Neither of them had said anything about it, but both of them wanted to avoid that place. Even now, so long after the incident, both kids are hiding their memories away, flinching whenever it inevitably reared its ugly head out. Avoiding would be in their best interest for now...they'll have to face it someday, but not now, not now...
What do you think its going to be? The Charmeleon asked the small group of pokemon gathered around their trainer's backpacks. They all knew what Charm was talking about- the pokemon eggs.
Whatever they are, I will tear them apart if it threatens Lina. Came Pixie's response, lips curled up in a growl. Not an unexpected reply, despite the gentle and motherly way the Ninetales always handled the eggs.
I hope it's not fire-type. Frill voiced his concerns. Pixie glared at him -and the butterfree shrank beneath that glare- but Charm only looked at the bug-type helplessly. He had no arguments against what Frill had said. He was the one who caused the forest fire after all.
Personally, I would hope for a pokemon that is suitable for being Sicel's guide pokemon. Fudge, the Pidgeot piped up. While Sicel was always cautious about evolution, preparing his pokemon for months before he allowed them to evolve, Fudge had taken the chance while Sicel was injured to undergo his evolution. No human was telling him what to do and when to do it.
Agreed. Charmeleon said, happy that the conversation had drifted away.
A Mightyena or Houndoom would help him much better than me. He admitted. Especially if I evolve once more...
There was a flurry of wings as Fudge and Frill, who were hovering above everyone else, crashed into each other.
Quiet! You will wake Lina up! Pixie roared. Frill apologized meekly while Fudge began arguing with Pixie.
It is late and we are all tired. Charm finally stepped in, motioning to the two flying types. They had obviously been dozing off when they crashed. I believe it is time for us to rest. Me and Pixie will keep the eggs warm as usual tonight?
Everyone grudgingly accepted. It was probably past midnight now, sleep will do them all good.
---
Mierlyn stared at her room which she had just entered, which could be described as the aftermath of an explosion. Rojn'Az chased each other gleefully across the floor covered in clothing and Mier's various other possessions.
"Rojo! Azul!" Mierlyn growled, glaring at the twin. Stalking in, she grabbed both the Plusle and Minum by the scruff of their necks and lifted them up to arm-level. The twins stuck their tongues out at her, and gave her a minor electric shock, but she ignored both and continued to glare at them until they finally settled down.
"This has gone too far. Either learn to behave, or I'll throw you two back into the wild."
The threat sobered the twins up and they looked at each other uneasily. They enjoyed the luxuries of living with a trainer immensely. Seeing the two cowed, Mier dropped the two onto the ground. Sighing, she knelt down and began to pick up all the stuff Rojn'Az had spilled all over the floor. The two hesitated for a moment, and began to help out.
Turning back to stare at the Pokemon egg she had wrapped up in cloth, she desperately hoped that whatever came out of that egg will be easier to handle. If not, she'll return the pokemon back to the PC gladly.
"I need another Pokemon." Mierlyn groaned.
She stood up and stretched her aching back from being bent over for so long. That's it, she's paying the Safari Zone a visit. Maybe get a Rhyhorn...something big and electric-proof would definitely help in managing the Rozn'AZ twins.
Satisfied that her room is no longer a complete mess, Mierlyn went to sit down at her desk, checking the thermometer she had placed within the blankets wrapping the egg. Because she did not know the species within the egg, her breeder friend didn't know what was the right temperature to suggest. Which makes the thermometer pretty much useless.
Just hopefully, it wasn't too hot or too cold to kill whatever was inside. She was more worried about the latter than the former. Mier just hasn't found anyway to keep the egg warm all the time. She was sure she probably kept it too cold for most Pokemon Eggs to handle.

They stood solemnly at the entrance.
"We...we should get going now." Lina whispered, cringing at the volume of her voice. Sicel nodded, but didn't say anything.
This was the first time either kids had visited Mount Pyre. Their pokemon shuffled restlessly around them, everyone overwhelmed by the feeling of a sacred presence, of the sadness, of the peace...
"Brother!" Lina's voice had a frantic edge to it, and she tugged at Sicel's sleeves. The boy finally turned away, and allowed Charmeleon and Lina to guide him to the small boat that was waiting to take them across.
No one made a sound as they crossed the waters.
The person who ran the ferry service to transfer people to, from, and across Mt.Pyre did not try to strike up a conversation. Even though he had been working here for years, the emotions of the mountain still overcomes him today. Especially since many of his beloved pokemon rested there.
"Just continue down west this way and you'll get to Mauville." he instructed the kids after they've landed. "The path is straight enough, albeit a bit steep."
They thanked the man and started down the path. Lina recalled Frill back into his Pokeball, but everyone else stayed, preferring to walk by their trainers.
The path, as the man had warned, was steep. It steadily sloped downwards, and every once in a while it would suddenly dip down, like a crack in the earth. Stairs were roughly hewn into the path to allow travelers to get down to the lower plane. Sicel struggled going down the stairs.
By the end of the day, the boy was grumpy and in a bad mood. They ate quickly, checked on the eggs like they did every night, and went to sleep.
The next few days passed similarly, with nothing much interesting happening. They met the Berry master by the time they reached the end of Route 123, and their pokemon definitely enjoyed the various berries the man had offered them to try.
They finally met some excitement the day they reached route 118.
As the two siblings walked down the road, only Charmeleon was out of its pokeball- Charm was never in his Pokeball anymore, taking up the important role of guiding Sicel.
And off the road to their right, they could hear a ruckus up in the mountainous region. It sounded like growling, yipping and other sounds of a fight. Everyone looked over that way, curious, wondering.
"Should we check it out?" Sicel asked. Lina didn't want to- she was frightened. But Sicel was already heading off the path, towards the rocks. Charmeleon stopped only long enough to look at her, wondering why she wasn't following.
Lina hesitated, and then called Pixie out of her pokeball before following.
---
Ok, so catching a pokemon was a lot harder than she remembered. Maybe it's just because the twins won't cooperate.
"Thunder wave!" She'd tell one of them, and they would promptly high-five each other and stick their tongues out at whatever she was trying to catch. And Mierlyn's learned by now that simply chucking as many pokeballs as she could at the pokemon wasn't helping. It was all because of these two.
If only she had decided to keep her team with her! Her manectric, gardevoir, flygon- any of them would have easily brought a wild pokemon down to a point she could catch it.
Not these two. If she wanted to get herself a new pokemon, she's either going to have to hatch it, receive it, trade it, or convince a wild Pokemon to join her.
Mier walked down the streets moodily, her egg tucked safely in her backpack. The Yellow egg with black stripes was being cared for by the people at the Contest Hall. The twins, as usual, were creating mayhem all about her. Tripping people, shocking kids, running into things- all in the days work for Rojn'Az.
"Quit it you two!" She snapped at them, as always, when they jumped onto a garbage can and began sword-fighting each other with twigs. Many people stopped to watch, amused, and Mier only muttered to herself, continuing to walk forward.
She was heading to the beach. Sit down on a rock, watch the waves, and hope that she'd get a few moment's peace. That was the plan anyways.

It took them about an hour or so. By then, the noise had died down. The land had become ragged and hard to traverse. Sicel ended up letting Fudge carry him, and Pixie urged Lina onto her back. They finally traversed up the side of the mountain, stopping on a wide, flat area.
They found two pokemon, hurt and unconscious, lying on the rock. One was an eevee, who was slightly larger than most of her species. Beside her was a pokemon Lina did not recognize- it was green and small, and, uh...she didn't think it looked all that great.
"What is it?" Sicel asked impatiently as he realized her sister had seen something.
"Oh, um, there's two pokemon here." She replied. "One's an Eevee I think, but I don't know what the other one is."
Sicel stuck on hand into his pocket, and brought out his Pokedex.
"Eevee, the evolution pokemon. A rare pokemon that adapts to its environment by taking different evolutionary forms." The Pokedex droned on.
Then: "Larvitar, the Rock Skin Pokémon. Larvitar generally hatch deep beneath the earth and take a long time before coming to the surface."
Sicel raised an eyebrow. Larvitar? Eevee? Both rare pokemon, and both hurt. But he wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth, this was a perfect opportunity for a capture.
"I'm going for the Larvitar." Sicel told his sister, sliding off the Pidgeot's back carefully, and taking out a Pokeball.
Lina looked alarmed.
"But they're hurt!" She protested.
"We'll catch them, and bring them to a pokemon center. Are you going to take the eevee?"
Lina just shook her head. It didn't seem right. Sicel went over to where the two unconscious pokemon are, guided by Charm, Kneeling next to them, he pressed the button on his pokeball, and the Larvitar disappeared into it as red light.
The pokemon gave no resistance- the Pokeball grew silent and still. Sicel, realizing that his sister wasn't going to do anything, shrugged, and brought another pokeball out to get the eevee. It struggled, but only subconsciously, and the eevee was caught as well.
Putting both pokeballs in his pack, Sicel walked back to Fudge, Lina, and Pixie.
"Let's get going. Whatever attacked these two might still be around."
Pixie agreed, and turned around immediately, with Lina holding on for dear life on her back. Sicel got himself onto Fudge's back again, and recalled Charmelon into his pokeball. Charm deserved a rest.
"I wonder what the eevee was doing there. I can understand a Larvitar in the area, but an eevee?" he murmured to himself.
---
The beach had a lot of people walking up and down it. Fishermen lined the shore, hoping to catch something other than a Magikarp. Couples walked side-by-side on the beach, gazing at each other with admiration. Small kids ran around playing, jumping into the water and throwing said water at each other. A few trainers were training their pokemon.
Mier sat down on one of the rocks on the sand, watching Rojo and Azul gleefully charge down the beach, causing havoc in their wake. Mier only sighed in resignation. They ran towards the area of the beach less crowded by people, and Rojo stumbled into a bush.
Which promptly blew fire at him.
Yelping, Rojo backed off, eying the bush warily. Surprised herself, Mierlyn ran over to her pokemon, kneeling down to examine Rojo's burns, while keeping an eye on the bush.
"Cyn...cynda..." she could hear. Whatever was in there was scared.
Carefully, Mier crept forward, towards the bush. She heard whimpering, and whatever was in there withdrawing back further into the tangle. With one hand, she pushed the branches aside...
"Cyndaquil!" The thing squeaked in fright, hiding its face underneath its little arms. Its back exploded into flames, the bush catching. Yelping, Mier stumbled backwards, watching the bush flare up and burn.
The little thing hiding inside it dashed out of the bush frantically, only to bump into Azul. Azul was not pleased about the thing hurting her big brother.
"Min, minum! Min, min, minum!" Azul scolded, and the little thing cringed. Mier had taken out her Pokedex at this point.
"Cyndaquil, the Fire Mouse Pokemon. It has a timid nature. If it is startled, the flames on its back burn more vigorously."
Mier sighed. Next time, she'll ask the Pokedex before she puts her hand into a bush with an unknown pokemon.
"Cynda..." The little thing murmured, jumping at the littlest things. Mier studied the Cyndaquil, noting that it looked rather young. Rojn'Az were conversing with it, and it seemed reluctant to answer. Finally, Rojo turned to Mierlyn and jumped up and down frantically, pointing to Mier's belt, which held the pokeballs.
"Plus, plus, plus, plusle! Plus!" It said excitedly, and Mierlyn could only take it that Rojo meant for her to catch the Cyndaquil. It did look really young, and Mier thinks that it looks rather thin and weak as well.
"Ok then, I'll try." She took out an ultra ball -she could afford a little luxury like this right?- and tossed it at the Cyndaquil. It sniffed it carefully before it turned into red light, drawn into the pokeball. The Ultra ball rocked back and forth, the button blinking red...
And then it stopped. The Cyndaquil was caught.
"Um...well then, I guess I should take it back." This was unexpected. She had been trying to get another pokemon these days, but certainly not like this.

Sicel placed the two pokeballs on the counter.
"We found these two pokemon injured just to the East of here." He told the nurse. "We did what we could for them, but I don't think they can recover without the Pokemon center."
Nurse Joy took the two Pokeballs, and a Chansey hurriedly took them away.
"Can you tell me what happened to them?" The nurse asked with concern. Sicel settled himself into a seat comfortably, and left Lina to tell the story.
The Nurse nodded as Lina stopped talking.
"There is a group of Larvitars and their evolutions living on the mountain there. I would assume the Larvitar belongs to that group. The eevee must have come from the grasslands at the base of the mountain. I don't know how they could have ended up the way they were though."
Sicel and Lina stayed at the Pokemon center for the next few days. The Larvitar and Eevee recovered quickly, although the nurse wouldn't let the two trainers see them until they were fully healed.
During that time, they visited the daycare, but didn't learn much about the eggs beyond what they already knew. Unfortunately, care for an egg you didn't know the species of, while common, is rather hit-and-miss.
On the third day, Lina's white-and-blue egg started hatching, during the wee hours of the morning. Lina woke up to find a baby Pachirisu squeaking and struggling from underneath Pixie's tail. Lina had promptly named him him Cheer.
Their other egg hatched the same day they visited the two newest pokemon Sicel had caught.
"Larvitar..." The Larvitar mumbled as it met its trainer for the first time after the siblings had tried to heal her wounds. She could not say that she was happy. One moment, her entire world fell down around her, and the next, a human had caught her.
Laurel -as the blind boy had named her- looked over at her companion, the Eevee the boy had named Minerva. Her eyes darted around frantically, and they both knew they could not escape the human building. They were bound to the boy by the Pokeball, a bond neither wanted.
Welcome to the team. Charm greeted them. Laurel bristled and faced the Charmander.
Please tell your human to leave us alone. We have nothing to do with him. She growled. Sicel and Lina watched the encounter curiously, having no clue at all what was being exchanged.
It is an honour to be in Sicel's party! Charm raised his voice, and Laurel suddenly felt much smaller.
Many Pokemon he had caught, and almost all he had dismissed. Do not assume so quickly that he would even want to keep you!
Charm calmed down slightly, sighing. He's too stressed. An outburst like that was unlike him.
Now, I would like to know why we found you injured. He asked, his voice once again smooth and under control. Laurel glanced at Minerva nervously, and the Eevee seemed stricken.
It-it was all my fault. She stammered.
Me and Larvitar were friends for the longest time, but the Tyranitar tribe did not want one of their sons being with me. I insisted on entering their territory though, to ask for them to let me play freely with larvitar. Instead, they exiled Larvitar and...and...they attacked us. The last part came out as a choke, and the Eevee broke down crying, alarming everyone around her. Laurel ran over and put a comforting arm around the Eevee, growling at anything that got near.
I want to go home! Minerva wailed, longing for the grassy plains she had grown up on. Her parents had been captured by trainers, and she had been forced to fend for herself all this time. She couldn't believe that she was now forced to serve a trainer as well.
Sicel, not being able to see the scene, but hearing the Eevee's crying, looked away with disdain. No, this one wouldn't do. The eevee was too emotional. Not a trait Sicel looked for in his pokemon.
The Larvitar also seems hesitant, but it was defiant, and stubborn. Normally, Sicel would dismiss a pokemon of her temperament, but as a Larvitar, she had a lot of potential for power. Tyranitar was one Pokemon he had always hoped he would get one day.
Crack. Everyone's head turned to Lina as the sound came from her backpack. She hurriedly knelt down, and took out the egg, which was rocking and shaking and cracking very fast.
And then, almost suddenly, a small form crawled out of it, gasping its first breaths of life. Shaking and wet, it shivered in the air as it took in its surroundings. Sicel took out his Pokedex.
"Houndour, the Dark pokemon. It communicates with fellow Houndours via a unique howl, informing them of its location. The herd will then move in together on their prey."
Everyone who knew the significance of this stared, gawking at each other. It was a houndour! The one pokemon that could serve as a guide well for Sicel. And as it had just hatched, it would be even more easy to train.
The small thing barked, flattening its ears. It trotted over to Sicel -the first thing she saw when she hatched- and huddled next to his leg fearfully, taking in the sights of the world.
"Morana." Sicel named the houndour. Then he surveyed Minerva and Laurel again.
"Larvitar, you're coming with me. Eevee, you're free to go." He finally told the two. He could not see the pain that came into the faces of the two, as they looked to each other. No! They can not separate.
Lina didn't understood exactly what was going on, but she could see that the two did not want to leave each other. Lina knew her brother could be callous, but his apathy shocked her this time.
"You can come with me." She offered the Eevee. "I am always with Sicel, you'll be with Laurel all the time."
Minerva looked up at Lina unhappily- she just wanted to go home with Laurel, but the tears dried from her eyes. At least she'll still be with Laurel.
The Eevee finally nodded, and Sicel wordlessly handed Minerva's pokeball over to his little sister.
The party, with all of its new members, settled down for the night.

Mier sat on her bed, watching the Cyndaquil look about the room. She had named him Cynder. And next to him, the newly hatched Sandslash was happily helping Rojn'Az harass Mierlyn.
Miserable at the fact she seemed to have gotten a rather shy but just as mischievous pokemon from the egg, Mier could only wish that she had stayed on the island, where she would be able to give the sandshrew back to the center.
But she was stuck with the little guy she had named Takrin. He was too small to defend for himself, and she'll have to take care of him.
At least Cynder seems to be an ok pokemon. He was shy and quiet, nervous and really, really cute. He was a pokemon that she was more used to. She could only frown as the Cyndaquil stuck close to Takrin though, who saw the baby Sandshrew as a protector, a role that Takrin took gladly.
Feeling rather miserable about her bad luck, Mier rushed everyone to bed. Rojn'Az refused to go into their pokeballs, something Takrin picked up very quickly. Only Cynder went quietly, and the sandshrew Mier had to battle with for a few minutes. But finally the two young ones were safely put away in their pokeballs, while Rojn'Az curled up in their normal position by the foot of the bed.
If only Cynder wasn't so shy, maybe he could teach the others a thing or two...

"An orange Butterfree?" Inquired a puzzled Sicel. Lina nodded eagerly, jumping impatiently from foot to foot.
"Yeah! It flew right above me! It was huge compared to Frill!" She chattered excitedly.
"I've never heard of an Orange Butterfree before...are you sure it was a Butterfree? Maybe it was a Mothim?" Sicel absently ran his hand through the fur of the Houndour laying next to him. the young Pokemon closed her eyes contently, wagging her tail slowly back and forth.
Lina shook her head.
"No! I checked my Pokedex! it said it was a Butterfree!"
"Fwee! Fwee!" Frill piped up, backing his trainer.
"Maybe it's one of those...um...shiny Pokemon!"
Sicel shrugged.
"Maybe."
---
"Your Grace." Sky hovered in the air before his queen, respectfully keeping himself lower than the Monarch Butterfree before him. "I've gone and assessed the damages as you have bid."
The Butterfree regarded him calmly, but there was a note of tension in her voice.
"Very well. What is the status of my subjects?"
Despite all of his worries and stress, Sky couldn't help but marvel at the beauty of his Queen. Her wings -those beautiful wings!- worked gracefully in the air to keep her aloft, while her yellow eyes stared out into the world with intelligence and love for her people.
"As you already know, the fire has reduced the population of our kingdom to about two dozen individuals. Half of that are metapods, whose hard shells kept them relatively safe from the fire. We have one Butterfree who is relatively unharmed aside from your grace, three Caterpies, one of which will probably not make it. We have three Burmys, all of which survived with sandy cloaks, a Sandy Wormadam, and two mothims, including me." Sky paused a moment, swallowing past a lump in his throat before continuing.
"We have a Venomoth who is in critical condition, and one surviving surskit."
The Queen winced. Two thirds of her subjects were dead or missing. The entire Wurmple evolution population within her domain was wiped out. Only a few survivors are left of the other evolutionary families except her own.
"Crown? Are you ok?" Sky asked, a worried tone in his voice as Crown stayed silent for many moment. The Butterfree finally sighed and nodded her head.
"Yes...I'm ok. We should round up what is left of our people and move south, nearer the human settlement. We risk contact with trainers, but that can not be helped. We need to feed ourselves." Crown looked west, to where the trees stood bare, branches grasping for the sky. Only a few weeks ago those trees were covered with dancing flames, their dance consuming the lives of so many...
"You know that I have gone to find Vespiqueen just a week ago. She is reluctant to lend us aid. Send Butterfree ahead of us and let us hear her answer before I make final plans."
"Yes your Grace." Sky dipped his head and turned around to go carry out Crown's orders. Crown watched the blue Mothim go, sadness in her eyes. The Monarch family has ran the clan of bug pokemon for generations, and always the Bluewing family of Mothims has helped the royal family cope with the stress of keeping so many different Pokemon together.
Crown was extremely thankful for Sky. The two alternately-coloured Pokemon had no one to rely on except each other. Both of their families had been destroyed by the fire, and Crown had been so suddenly -too suddenly!- thrust into the role of Queen.
"Too much to worry about...too many things to do..." Crown lamented. Winter was approaching, and their food stores had been destroyed. If they were to survive, they would have to rely on other Pokemon clans for help, something the Monarch Clan has never needed to do in the History of the region.
But Crown was less concerned about pride and more concerned about the welfare of her surviving subjects. So many that survived are not fliers. half of them can't even move!
Getting everyone to the south where the Combee live (She's thinking of the route the safari zone is on BTW) would be a challenge, one Crown wasn't sure if she could take or not. Sighing, with seemingly the world on her shoulders, Crown flew downwards to a tree. Settling on a branch that was thankfully surrounded by green leaves, Crown wondered and worried.
