Digging through the sand: Dear Diary,
Today after my chores it was hot out so I thought I'd go swimming. Down by the beach there were tons of people all looking for something, turns out they took the rumors about the wild gold flitt's hidden clutch seriously. I almost ignored them, I didn't believe the tall tale, but peer pressure is powerful and everyone else was doing it so I started looking too.
I met this nice girl named Kallista of Astarteth. I never met her dragon but we paired up and searched together. We did see a fire lizard pop out of the sand so it wasn't hard to believe they'd buried the clutch somewhere. This one guy whose name I forgot told us that 'it was too bad they didn't ask a fire lizard where it was.' Yeah, it was that easy. For those who already owned a fire lizard!
Anyway a group of us did find the clutch and let me tell you, small or not, that gold flitt was pissed! Food didn't appease her like I thought it would. There were six in the clutch, I managed to grab one and run before I got my face clawed off. It was light grey with dark grey and white stripes all over it's shell.
I later felt guilty when I learned all of the eggs had been taken. No one left an egg for the mother flitt! I couldn't put mine back though, it promised me a fire lizard friendship I wanted badly. It's lonely when you don't have many friends. Oh well, as long as the gold flitt has her fair of minion flitts I'm sure she'll clutch again later.

Homeless and wandering: Dear Diary,
It really sucks growing up in a weyr, watching it get crowded then by the time your a candidate you have to sleep on the floor like an animal and being raised there didn't get you any special treatment, plus searchriders kept making it worse by bringing
more outsiders!
This girl named Renna got kicked out of a pantry and I feel like helping her out, you know? Then this guy named Alstor shows up and together we talk. I thought we were all pretty much on the same level. A woman in Bakercraft finds us, I think her name was Mirelle? She doesn't yell, she let's us explain. Suddenly Alstor switches his story to make himself look better.
This nosy girl Moira pops out of no where and gets on my case about saying I was nothing special and didn't deserve special treatment. It was my ego talking, I knew I was wrong but didn't care at the time. This is MY home, SHE was the outsider.
Alstor and Moira team up and forgetting that Alstor just made her look bad, Renna joined in too. Traitor! Moira offers Renna a place to sleep, mission accomplished. Mirelle gave us baskets and led us to go do some chores and all while we were walking they whispered to each other, probably about me. After a while they started talking louder, about the '
betweened' blue hatchling. It brought back sad memories, I was there on the sands when it happened.
That girl shouldn't have touched Cheoth's eggs so early!

Patch Problems: Dear Diary,
You'd be surprised at the things you take for granted in life. I found that out the hard way when I ripped one of my shirts on accident. Being a candidate now, no nanny was going to patch it for me. I've never taken any interest in Weavercraft so I was clueless on how to sew this thing up.
I didn't want to be caught doing a 'girl thing' so I hid myself away and tried to sew for the first time in my life. It didn't turn out well, after I made a tangled mess I gave up, deciding to just buy a new shirt.
As I left the hiding place I bumped into this girl named Ichta, she had this big scar and kept hiding her face so I couldn't see it. She noticed my shirt and it turns out she knows Weavercraft. She helps me out, first guiding me with advice then she stopped hiding and sewed it herself. I thanked her and asked her not to tell on me.
A tunnelsnake appeared and scared her away, I wasn't scared but I ran away too! I couldn't find her after that so I just came back here to my room.

Transferring to a new life in a new weyr: Dear Diary,
A golden opportunity has arisen. This weird runner came to Ista claiming another weyr requires a new gold queen, as the current one wouldn't rise anymore. Rumors are everywhere that Favan and her gold Cheoth were chosen to fill that void. There were some bad comments about this Favan but I don't know if their true or not.
Ista's taken advantage of this chance to get rid of it's surplus population. To escape overcrowding I and several others will be following Favan to her new weyr. We didn't know if it was a new weyr being founded or one already known. We didn't even know what region it was in but we still decided to go. They can't refuse us, as we're giving them a clutching queen.
The decision to leave my only home was hard on me. It was getting to the point though that this place, with all it's happy childhood memories just wasn't like a home anymore. I've waited turns to impress there and now I was going to look for my dragon elsewhere.
In the Dining area I talked with this Master Healer in training named...er.... Lin, we'll just call him Lin. I also talked with a Wingsecond R'than of brown Garith. We talked about cold climates, dragon adaptability, things like that. After a while I got hungry so I left.

A new beginning: Dear Diary,
I am the man now. I have gone through a dragonrider's rite of passage. Today was the day we were leaving Ista. Favan and Cheoth looked perfectly smug. I'm going to wear this seashell bracelet around my ankle for the rest of my days to remind me of where I came from. I found R'than in the weyrbowl and this time his brown dragon Garith was with him. It was the first time I ever officially met a dragon. I asked for a ride to the new weyr and they agreed. It was the first time I ever rode a dragon either. It was amazing, better than anything I could have imagined. I was nervous about my fire lizard egg but I had to do this, for our future. I went '
between' for the first time. The dark silent cold cannot be described with mere words.
We came out above a desert. I thought we were lost but then a mountain loomed nearby. R'than told me this was Igen weyr. This was my new home. I saw a lot of promise in it, despite how barren it looked. I check my egg when we landed. It was fine, we had made it!
Got to go find my room, later! Arolon
NEW ROOMS: Dear Diary,
I just met Allende, Dayo and Gakere, all transfers like me. We found our rooms, yeah, we have rooms now! Allende decided to room with Dayo. I now own a bed and will protect it fiercely. My sack of clothes went in a trunk where I set up a warmer for the fire lizard egg. Then we went off in search of the dining hall where it became apparent to me that things ran differently here in Igen Weyr...
Everyone seemed to be wearing bandanas of some color. The colors sat in groups and you weren't allowed to sit near them if you were the wrong color or didn't have a bandana. We were outsiders to them, shunned from all but the ones who chose not to wear bandanas. I stuck with my group of Ista transfers.
Got to go eat, later! Arolon
New Opportunities: Dear Diary,
I met a man named Yisenkar, a member of a faction called the Flying Wherries. He explained everything to me, about factions. The main three are called Rising Sun, Sand Storm, and the Flying Wherries. The bandanas are a way to identify each other it turns out. Seems Ista's transfers will eventually split up into these factions, if they don't they are shunned. That means we'll eventually be pitted against one another. Each faction has
different ideals, I decided not to choose out of impulse. I will think about all of this.
Later, Arolon
Earning Membership: Dear Diary,
I've come face to face with the leader of Rising Sun. I have several reasons why I want to join his faction. Nothing I said impressed him very much. Eventually I asked him to let me show him I'm worthy with a challenge. He ordered me to steal Iathe's bandana belt and give it to him. The mission is dangerous, I had better be careful!
Off to go planning, Bye! Arolon
Troubled Youth: Dear Diary,
Couldn't calm down, went sand sliding down the dunes for fun. Talked to R'than and Garith about everything, felt a bit better.
Night Arolon
Theif in the Night: Dear Diary,
I want in Rising Sun. Theron gave me a difficult task for entry. Steal the Sand Storm leader's bandana. I planned all sevenday, prepared, trained Lokkes to help me. This was going to be a sneak attack. Only I didn't expect Dayo and Gakere to be there. Iathe was supposed to be alone. I lost the element of surprise when Gakere spotted me hiding with his glowbasket. They've RUINED EVERYTHING! ALL MY PLANNING FOR NOTHING! They'll know who I am, I'M SCREWED! Iathe will call for her daddy to kick me out and Gakere will point me out, even if I do change my hair and outfit drastically. They'll USE me, to get into Sand Storm. Protect the leader to get free entry. SHARDIT!!! No, shardit doesn't feel good enough. SGDSHHJFJFDASSAZzPH!!!!!!! I HATE THEM! The pitting of friends against eachother has begun and it looks like I'll be the first casualty. How am I supposed to fight them, huh? How am I supposed to get away with it? The anger I feel would make Cheoth and Favan cower in fear.
Goodbye forever, as I'll be kicked out. Arolon
